    I would absolutely like to see more about your journey while pregnant, becuase it's something so many people have to deal with. I don't have a uterus, but it still helps me contextualize the struggles my peers (like you) are dealing with because of their pregnancies.
    Also, I started a hormone therapy earlier this year, and it had made my med schedule into a bit of a circus while my body adjusted, but it's back to normal again now that my body has figured itself out. Don't be surprised if you continue to have symptoms from hormone fluctuation during (and even after) your remaining trimesters. Your body will eventually figure itself out, so keep the hope alive.
    One more thought: My wife had to start new meds while pregnant. That didn't make her a failure, but I totally understand why it feels that way. Please don't beat yourself up over doing your best to live with a brain and body that aren't medical ideals. Your journey and needs are valid, and I'm so glad you've found some stability. I just hope you don't feel too bad about the details of that stability, because the best thing you can give yourself, Rob, and your children is a (generally) stable parent who loves them. (Lord knows I have to remind myself of that regularly.)

It doesn't guarentee that you will get it, not is it "viral" or contagious in th sense of infection as many anti-vaxxers on Vancouver Island fallaciously believe, but one's environment and events especially in early childhood make one suseptable to acquiring a variety of mental health issues that can crop up anywhere from childhood till generally age 30ish.
      I must add that not everyone who acquires a mental health diagnosis has a heterogeneous catalysis. I don't know the percentage off hand of that statistic. But with the massive prevalence of Cancer and Heart Disease for instance, climate change and pollution and diet have a more than 80% determination and inheritance is only at about a 15 - 20% determination at this time.

    Huge congratulations to your family, you are already glowing! ♡ I have three girls, all while navigating through my own mental health journey. Being a mother is my biggest motivation to make sure I am okay, although remembering my own self care has been challenging and some days are better than others, my children are my biggest blessing. Thanks for sharing your experiences in such an educational and open way. Your bravery helps make me brave too. Congratulations again!

    Thank you so much for sharing your story and being vulnerable with us. I felt compelled to comment and let you know that I do not see you as a failure for taking your medication, and I also think you're ON the lowest possible dose (even though you said you had to increase). We are our own biggest critic. Don't be harsh on yourself for things you cannot control. That mom guilt is real! I want to wish the best of luck to you and your family!! and congratulations!!

    Congratulations you guys!!! As ever, thank you for sharing your experience. Medication and pregnancy is so rarely spoken about - whether it's for schizophrenia or any other psychiatric condition. I have felt so afraid of getting pregnant precisely because of the fear of being unable to protect my child. I would love to hear you speak about this more. It's a mental health issue, but it's also very much a women's issue! But difficult topics aside, I'm so happy for you both. This baby will be so loved, by its family and by the community you two have been building! xxx

    Congratulations!! This definitely is big news! As low dopamine levels can lead to high prolactine levels that prevent pregnancies, I would not have imagined this to be possible! But there is medication you can be on and that is tested. Some medication is tested better than others. If you feel balanced, your child will feel it as well. We all know what stress can do to our bodies, so stay in touch with your doctor. I am very happy for you guys!!!

    Thank you so much for sharing so openly. Though I don't have Schizophrenia, I deal with my own mental health issues and work with clients with diverse mental health needs as a social worker and counselor. As I'm preparing to talk with my partner about trying to get pregnant, I have so many fears about parenting/pregnancy with my mental health. I'm so excited to watch you both embark on this journey! And I'm honestly really relieved to hear about your successes and challenges now and ongoing, to remind me that I can do this

    You and one of my daughters look enough alike you can be sisters, and you have the same diagnosis. She and I enjoy following you. I have learned a lot from you which has helped me with my daughter and has helped me to explain my daughter's condition easier when needed. My daughter said that it is a BIG "YES" to learn more about your pregnancy as you progress, and I agree. How exciting! Congratulations to you both! My daughter says, and I agree, that you have so much courage to carry out your pregnancy while being on some medications. We are happy for you and so glad you are making these videos.

    So happy for both of you!! I have schizoaffective disorder, and made it through two pregnancies with reduced medications, with two very healthy outcomes, and also felt great while I was pregnant. It is possible. I hope you and your doctor find the right balance of meds/dosages for a happy and healthy pregnancy for you. My daughters are now 17 and 14, and like another who responded to this video, pregnancy was a game changer for me. Only two relapses to speak of in the past 18 years, other than those just requiring med changes or some time off work. I hope you both have an amazing experience, and you will both be amazing parents!!! Congratulations!

      What was the cause of those two relapses?

    • @kristenfarley-vasquez3478
      @kristenfarley-vasquez3478 4 года назад +2

      @@Burevestnik9M730 Likely stress coupled with a need for, or at that time changes in, my medications. I do have to say that those were the two worst relapses I’ve ever had, but only two in over 18 years...I’ll take it. Those were separated by two years or so, but I have now not had a relapse in at least eight years. You just have to keep in mind that when you have infants or babies/toddlers that your sleep will not be regular, you will be running on empty a lot, and you NEED to take care of yourself as well. When you have a serious mental illness, self-care is not optional. I suspect Lauren and Rob will shine because they are very supportive of each other. That’s key. Although I am married, I had to handle everything by myself without any emotional support, and that makes a huge difference.

    • @Burevestnik9M730
      @Burevestnik9M730 4 года назад

      @@kristenfarley-vasquez3478 Since you had no relapse for the last 8 years or so, what was your medication regimen in that period? (types and dosages). I assume this regimen did not change for the last 8 years?

    • @kristenfarley-vasquez3478
      @kristenfarley-vasquez3478 4 года назад

      @@Burevestnik9M730 I can’t recall what meds I was on at any given time in the past, only that I have tried dozens of medications over the last 30 years or so, in varying combinations and at different doses. Yes, I’ve required changes in the cocktail over the past eight years of course. Can’t ever get too comfortable with the status quo, but those times were relatively minor blips on the radar screen.

    I am so so so proud of you both!!! Thank you for talking about this issue. There is so much judgement and bullying on the internet with pregnant women. Mental health doesn’t have a chance! The thing is- if the medication helps you stay alive and function, that is best for YOUR baby, with the help of your doctor. You are shedding light on a topic that many people face and keep hidden, like there is shame in making the best choice you can for your health and the health of your unborn child. Congratulations!!!!!!
