Having a “shop my stash” or “project pan” drawer is really helpful for me to get ready faster too. It takes some of the decision work out of getting ready since I have so much makeup! Love these tips!
I highly recommend the usage goals for absolute beginners. My first couple of project pans, I put goals like hit pan or use up a product then I would of course, follow other panners on Instagram and watch RUclips videos. I got discouraged so quickly. I didn't do another project for a while. I had to learn that just because I was excited to do a project didn't mean I had to have huge goals(especially in the beginning), and most importantly not to compare myself to other panners. My first ever project pan, I had the Milani Rose pattern blush and my goal was to hit pan! I ended up wearing away the pattern in a year! Lol! It's great advice to go at your own pace. I wish I would have done usage goals for my first few projects. But you live and you learn..lol
I do shop my stash every couple of days and see different formulas and apply different techniques makes it very fun for me. I do apply skincare to no avail twice a day and make up 7 days a week it becomes a routine that grounds me. I was thinking of doing project pan since 2020 but I find that it became a chore and took away the creative aspect of makeup application. I still do enjoy these tips you share and project pan videos are my jam! xx Thanks for sharing!
@@ChicGeekMakeup do you happen to know Lisa Eldridge? I have been watching her since 2014 and learn all my make up techniques from her. Thought it may be helpful xx
100% agree with not using expired products that cause irritation! I wish people talked about this more. In 2019 I was stupid enough to use up expired foundation that made me break out. It was a high end foundation that I had saved for special occasion and I didn't want to waste my money. In reality I think I wasted my money way earlier by neglecting the foundation. I will never again use a product up just for the sake of being successful in project pan, if the product causes any issues.
Thanks for the lovely video. I am combining panning with a no buy. I am panning 10 items. I am not purchasing anything until I finish these products. It will be a rolling project. However, I still cannot purchase anything until the original ten are finished.
I started trying to project pan a few older items and it’s slow going because I don’t like to let my other products sit. It’s hard to find a balance. Thanks for the tips!
I'm only trying to use up a couple foundations and concealers I've had for 2+ years, and for my blushes and lipsticks I kind of do a shop my stash every season because I'm very light handed in the application, so it's not realistic for me to try to use up a blush in a year. And I think i'll add a body spray in my project pan, because i've been checking my drawers and I realized I have soooo many, so it's time to give them a concious usage
After seeing your makeup capsule video I was inspired to start doing it too! I do a lot of project pans and these tips are a lot of the same things that I’ve learned that help me, too!
I tan very easily and super dark and by November I'm 4 shades lighter so even eyeshadow will look so different or just not work on me depending on the season so I know it would be very hard to do a year long project pan
My main one is to keep your products visible! If I can't see them or my SMS products...I don't use them. Great tips, Beautiful! Love the colorful eye look! Makes me think of Summer! Stay safe! TFS! ~ Nona
Five years as a project panner is long, wow :) I do a little project panning unofficially, but think about maybe making videos, have 10 uses on insta :) From Ida in Norway
The "don't overuse" tip I totally agree with...I've come across a few project pan videos where they, for example, use a sharp object to dig into their eyeshadows to use them up "faster." Like yeah that will work of course but it's not really using them up faster, not really, you're just wasting more of the product in my opinion.
Dear Chic Geek, after finiching my first month project pan. I came to realise I selected too many items to project pan for that month. But though I do like apply makeup everyday I like variety. How to I set my intentions of use when I don´t want to be applying the same shade of eyeshadow everyday?

Yes it really helps 😃
Ive been panning over 5 years too and i love these videos to see if i can learn something new but also just hearing it listed like this is helpful.
I agree I learn new tips from panners all the time!

Yes for sure! I did not do usage projects at all at first and I wish I had!

I totally agree! Not worth it!
I just started project panning this year, definitely bookmarking this video to reference throughout the year.
Oh yay! Good luck to you!
Working from home slowed the process sooooo much for me

That sounds great! Good luck to you!
Great tip about the amount of product. It will be better to have a mini in a short project rather than a full size. Thanks.
Thank you!😃

I agree the balance can be difficult!
Your makeup is beautiful! I love colorful makeup. I found your video/channel for searching for project pan starting videos and tips and tricks for it.
Thank you so much!
I multitask my lipstick on my cheeks as a cream blush. I can still use a powder blush to set it.
That’s a good idea!

Good luck to you!!
That nail color is so beautiful.

I love your attitude about switching out, Im the same and im not disappointed in myself if I switch out "too soon", it has to stay fun for me😁
I agree I want to enjoy project panning!😃

You nailed it! I was agreeing and nodding the whole time lol
Haha thank you!!

Great video! Love project panning myself but I'm only a beginner so tips and tricks are more than welcome :)
Thank you!
So many great tips 👍🏼 thanks a bunch for this! I wear a full face of makeup 7 days a week.
Thank you!
Fantastic video, thank you for the tips. It is so satisfying to use up a product and get my money’s worth, so this is something I’d like to try too 💜
Thank you so much!!
I do a shop my stash where I rotate items in/out every 10 days. My Project Pan items are permanently in the shop my stash basket.
LOL! I try to keep my stuff as long as possible! I'm not a fan of project pans!
This was great! It's my first year project panning so I really appreciate all the tips and encouragement. 💜🌻 Also, this eye look is GORGEOUS! 👌🏻✨
Thank you! Good luck to you!
love your makeup look today, such pretty color contrast!

I agree it’s seems pointless and wasteful!

You don’t have to pan any eyeshadow if you don’t want to, you could always count usage or just a shop your stash 😃 good luck!
Your eye makeup reminds me of a pansy.... it looks great. ^_^ Nice tips.
Thank you! I love pansies😃
