+iREVIEWitALL :) I have the same one as you. I do LOVE it but hate the zip & flap so much. I'd love the new one but can't justify buying it unless I sold mine. The leather one is stunning but as you say its a bit soft & you'd have to baby it. I'm tempted though.

Lol, i like more the old model Michael Backpack, than the new one..its more masculine and classic design.
i like the flap over the zip also on mine but its quite unpractical for opening a lot.
I have the flap too on mine. Yes, its a pain to open and close it, but I think it's good because it also acts as a good theft deterrent in that if there is somebody behind you who's trying to unzip your bag to try and steal your stuff inside, without you knowing, the would-be-thief will have a harder time opening it if the flap wasn't there.
Christian Cornejo Unzué I feel the same way. I have the flap on mine. I don’t have to worry about my MacBook getting wet if it starts to rain🌧. The rain will roll right instead of getting through the zipper.
I also do not like mesh on the exterior of a bag. I'm worried that it might get snagged or torn. Thanks for sharing this review!
Yea that pocket sucks no doubt... Still there is the new version.
So I just started using mine a few weeks ago (Michael version 2) and the only thing I am not liking aesthetically is how the Damier graphite canvas is rippling above the 3rd skinny pocket and the zippers start to look wavy as well.
I did playback your video and I do notice the same thing on your bag. I think the design flaw there is that they should have added padding between the liner and the canvas to keep the canvas "poofed" up.

I'm thinking of getting a Jake backpack because I don't carry large bags because I'm a hands free type of girl. I usually do small crossbodies but need a big bag... how do you feel about girls with men's backpacks?
It doesn't look dainty and just looks like a backpack... but it's the only way I'll get a bigger bag since I can't do shoulder and hate large crossbodies lol.
hi Shannon. First of thx for watching and your kind comment means a lot! I think girls with backpacks ROCK! It does not look out of place at all! I would say that the big cross body looks worse on a petite / female frame. Jake is a nice choice I particularly like the top shape... Also it looks visually smaller then Michael yet it packs similar amount of items... i say go for it!
