Just my humble opinion based on 72 years of multi genre listening, best rock band today. ALL of their songs are good & varied. Often using multiple genres within the same song. Best experienced live. Start with manners/ black hole (official live). Dont miss "catharsis" (acoustic live). It gets removed later this month. My favorite band. Someone mentioned The Warning (sisters), my other favorite band. Also excellent live. Check out disciple (music vid) & dust to dust live at lunario. Also, choke, evolve, animosity, & Z (live session). Check out enter sandman w/ alessia cara, done in 1 week for Metallica's black list album. First cover they have done since they were about 12, 14 & 16 except for metallica's atlas rise at the whiskey a-go go i believe.
Forgot to mention, if ur not up on the japanese female bands, there are dozens of killer rock & metal bands there. Nemophila, garcharic spin, lovebites, aldious, dollsboxx, hanabie, hagane, destrose, mary's blood & bridear for starters.

Akane's drumming is fantastic and so powerful. The drumming is like the sound when the beasts runs around field of Africa. Akane is my favorite and best drummer.

FROM JAPAN Introducing BAND-MAID For those who are new to BAND-MAID ■ They have over 110 fascinating songs. ■
BAND-MAID is a 5-member girls rock band. They are hard rock band and are now considered by fans to be one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually perform 23 songs and 2 hours live. They were formed in Japan in 2013 by side guitarist Miku Kobato. Kobato had experience working at a maid cafe in Akihabara Tokyo and had the idea of playing cool songs with a maid costume. That's why the band was named Band-Maid. "Thrill" was their first music video in 2014, played 2 million times in two weeks and saved them from breaking up. At that time they were just around 19-22 years old. And then they have been doing LIVE overseas and increasing their fans. Now they are writing, composing and arranging all the songs. 42 music videos have been released on their official RUclips, all of which are killer songs.

She was the lead singer when the band was founded,
but since Saiki became the lead singer, she started playing the side guitar for the first time.
Saiki Atsumi : Lead vocal, the youngest, member call her a teacher, she make various decisions. good at cooking
Kanami Tono : Lead guitar, composer (prolific genius), good at piano. hobby is reading. good at making sweets.
Akane Hirose : Drummer, good at funny faces, she is a big eater. she loves anime. she has a lot of friends.
Misa : Bassist, stage drinks are liquor, play with bare feet. the most shy and reticent. good at cooking

@@toshimatyu6654 You know what? I have the impression that Japanese people think that the rest of the world doesn't know much about their music, but the truth is that is quite popular. I like more than 1000 artists from Japan (yes, it's not an exageration, I have them on a list). I have a lot of respect for the Japanese musical scene, from the pop idols to the metal bands. And I think one of the most special things is the enormous number of quality female rock bands. Greetings from Spain :)
I really like this band. Their bassist ALWAYS has a kick ass tone and you can hear it in every track, even live. She plays Orange so it makes sense.

Yes, Akane Hirose uses Zildjian cymbols. When on tour sometimes she rents drum sets (TAMA), but she always brings her cymbols. She uses DW pedals. Akane and her drum tech are very particular about tuning and miking her drums. I saw them do a sound check at a festival and they Akane and the sound man) spent a lot of time checking levels for her drums. Akane is an absolute menace on percusion and milks more out of a standard kit than many can get from their impressive circular array of drums. I believe TAMA recently built a custom drum set for her.
Faces: I think at one time they asked the videographers to focus on their instruments and not on their faces. A few critics couldn't accept the idea that these cute girls in maid costumes were actually playing their own instruments and believed they were a put-up idol group miming to studio musicians. Their lead guitarist, Kanami Tono, did a TV show where she asked her interviewer to pick a random rock song and that she would play along with it. A moderately difficult song was picked and she played along, never missing a note, while she icily stared at the camera. She was in her maid costume.
They were invited to play Lolapolooza 2023. Check their "Dice - HATE!" live video from that set: these ladies set the stage on fire with an outrgeously killer bass - guitar duel.
The more covers you do the more tricks in the bag you learn. So when you write original stuff you have a deeper well to pick riffs and beats from.
I would recommend you guys try "secret My lips" MV. You may like it more.
Rhythm guitarist Miku's got your amp. She's playing a Zemaitis. Kanami's got your guitar. Kanami plays out of a Marshall stack. MISA is playing a Black Cloud Black Smoker bass on Orange amps.
