Blooming is one of my oh so many favorites by Band Maid. Coming from Japan I feel like they are my grand daughters. And every time pros like these guys react to and get so impressed with them, yes, I feel like I'm a proud Ojiichan!
The lead guitarist Kanami composes the songs whilst the rhythm guitarist/backup vocals Miku writes the lyrics. Miku also happens to be the mistresspigeon @ mastermind of the forming of the band and their concept. Fun fact: Miku was the actual vocalist when they started the band but then decided to step back and recruited the current vocalist due to the fact that Saiki's voice fits her vision of the band. Miku has the range but Saiki definitely has the power vocals. Miku then decided to learn the rhythm guitar from Kanami and it has been a joy to see her improve every year 💖
"Blooming" - All these Band Maid's cuteness and perfection loaded in a glowing, speeding like a lightning, bullets. Probably there is no bulletproof vest to save for this:)
Blooming is one of their most layered songs. Band Maid is the only hard rock band I've ever heard that even makes such layered/complex music. Such talent!
Kanami is very masterful in songwriting and arranging! Her ear for counterpoint melodies, negative rhythm, and dynamics!! Misa is the Barefoot Assassin on bass. Technically they're all wearing maid costumes, just of varying styles. Miku (rhythm guitar/vocals/pidgeon in human form) not only was the genesis of the band, but also writes the majority of the lyrics, and designs the outfits. She actually used to work in a maid cafe which spawned the idea of forming a rock band that had this aesthetic.
I went to their live show twice, and guys, it was nothing but mind blowing. "Blooming " on live performance, we went all nuts!! These girls are fabulouse on stage. Never ever disappoint!!

People is missing out on how good the Blu-ray is. It starts with an Akane drum solo leading into Rinne. Miku going crazy head shaking and Saiki steps up to the front to hype the crowd. After Rinne, they go right into Blooming.
Blooming is the second song on their live blu ray and yes it rules. The blu ray is definitely awesome, although Kanami should be up in the mix more. The song "Page" is the one I am watching the most right now.
gringopablo It’s really the difference between focusing the post production work strictly off of the sound board (Studio Coast and Zepp Tokyo) and going more off of all the live ambient mics (Line Cube Shibuya). The latter has a much more Live feel as if you’re really there and therefore is a more immersive experience, but at the cost of perfect instrument audio levels. A marriage of the two is obviously, in my opinion, ideal and come to think of it, it’s possible that’s the case for the Line Cube Blu-ray. Perfection in regards to both aspects could very well be impossible to nail down!💪🏻🤘🏻

Two new fans i guess... Would be fun that a band is totally fanboying for another band... But these girls deserve it, it´s never boring, because it´s always different. Great reaction guys. I know Travis listened to Lovebites the other day, another great band. One or two of you need to listen to Mary's Blood, "Marionette." Listen to Saki's guitar solo and have your face truly melted off.
For their "hard" stuff I recommend Dice, Rinne, Moratorium, Play. Some fantastic ballads are Daydreaming, Endless Story. If you want something really different, check out their "other" band. Band-Maiko. They did a few songs in this other persona mixing hard rock with traditional Japanese instruments. Gion-cho and Secret My Lips.
Definitely insane musical talent and how they compose their songs that everyone just fits perfectly together. For something a little heavier you should see Rinne. However look for their music video and not the TV Live version

there is a live online concert on July, 23rd. I guess you're a bit late to get a ticket to Budokan (if THAT even happens), but the girls give gigs all around the world normally, so ... you might get lucky and actually see them live. It's truely something that needs to be experienced
You're a few days late, but if you would have joined their official fan club you would have had the chance to see them next February 11th @ Budokan. The lottery drawing for tickets was yesterday, so it's going to be interesting to see how many of us hit the jackpot & to see all the different locations from around the globe people will be traveling from. My sister apparently had seen a certain band on Castlefest, which is a huge medievil/fantasy festival in the Netherlands. But when I heard the first song from that band I was a instant fan. That band is called The SIDH - Iridium. It is not metal I know, but it might be worth your time.
Just for info, lead vocal Saiki was not rapping. It's just the way Japanese language is because you have to speak each vowels as well; Japanese is mora time language so you will hear every syllable clearly. So, when she is singing really fast, it will sound like she is rapping but, no, they do not have any rap songs.
you are correct on that but just for ha ha's i added it in to the genres this song covers cuz it does sound like a little rap part . and it made the list longer! but i did forget to add funk to that list as misa does get very funky quite a bit. they better NOT do rap cuz i won't like it. or maybe i will after all it is the maids!
@Evren G.Nez That is true. Band Maid songs are hard for even native speakers to sing along with. The reason is Miku's lyrics. There is a Japanese reddit member at BM sub reddit who explained how Miku is a genius lyricist the way she puts the words with the notes; very unusual and unique (only a few Japanese musicians can do this) as the Japanese language does not fit well with Western Rock music the way notes are arranged. So, Miku has to fit the words with the songs. The way the syllables land on the note, she has to use very unique and smart way but yeah, hard to sing along for native speakers. It's a whole dissertation on linguistic study on Miku's way of structuring lyrics with rock music.
Yeah, they each have a character within the band. MISA is the assassin. Miku's the small pigeon. Saiki's the Ice Queen (or at least used to be). Akane's the half-gorilla. Kanami's the valley girl of the band. Oh, and they are doing a livestream okyuji (what they call their concerts) Sunday morning, and they're selling tickets for 1500 yen each.

Could you please react to Hua Chenyu's "A New World"? This is the title song of his fourth album, which he has just released. Hua Chenyu is a great Chinese singer. He is famous for his powerful vocal abilities, dramatic stage performance as well as his talent in composing and rearranging song. I really like the feeling that this song brings me to stand on the peak and look out. His music is very thoughtful and spiritual. The rap and high notes at the end of the song give people goose bumps. Highly recommend this song for you and please check it out. Thank you.😊

Indeed. For me, Zepp Tokyo 2018 still has better sound and mix. Maybe it has to do with the place structure? i don't know. Anyway, these girls rocks!

Please React to Band-Maiko, which is Band-Maid's alter ego band (so to speak) where they made 2 songs where they mix in traditional Japanese instruments. Maiko is a Geisha apprentice btw... :P
