That being said no excuses and all we can do is move on and play for a good bowl game. However, hats off to Buckeye Nation and all her fans! Great Game! You won the game when it mattered most! Bust of luck the rest of the season!
So much respect for Notre Dame. This is the best team we have played against in decades. Both sides left everything on the field. We understand very well your pain and have been in your shoes the past two years with at least two games we let slip away. Notre Dame is clearly a team that is on the rise. Knew in advance of this game this would be a war and it lived up to its hype. Best of luck on the rest of your season.
I’m an Ohio State fan and that game could have easily gone either way. Notre Dame played good enough to win. It’s a tough loss but Notre Dame’s season is not over yet. They can still make the playoff if they win out and beat USC. Marcus Freeman is a great coach and he’s going to do big things at Notre Dame
I feel it man. missing the game winning field goal to beat Georgia as the clock struck midnight to play for the national championship will haunt me forever
Look at the last play again. Number 71 didn't block anyone really. He would have blocked the 11th defender. People act like that extra guy would have had a free path to the running back. Notre Dame had 64.5 yards, all with 11 players to stop Ohio State, but they didn't. They were on their heels and tired. I don't think they would have stopped them. We'll never know.
@@ericwatson3490 Actually it was about the length of the football. The extra guy might have made a difference, but 71 didn't have anyone to block, the only reason it was close was because the DB came around and made the tackle from the side/behind. If the 11th payer was in the game and 71 effectively blocked him then the result is exactly the same.
@@jonwalter6317 thanks for explaining, but they're hurt and angry. They are convinced it was the difference in the game. Nothing about the other 64.5 yards of that drive against 11 players. 😂
If you look at that last play, yes the missing Notre Dame player would have lined up where the ball went but also #71 Josh Simmons had no one to block there so he curled to his right looking for a man to block. So even if they had lined up with 11 players, OSU still might have scored there depending on the blocking of Josh SImmons.
That last drive is going to pay off massively for Kyle McCord. Having gone through a pressure cooker game and final drive like that is the kind of experience that really seasons a new QB. That experience will pay off against PSU and UM.
i prefer to think that big moments only reveal talent. Kyle McCord was probably always going to be super clutch, we just didn't know it until the opportunity came for him to show it.
@@sac3074 your offense played hella soft my dude. Yall ran for like 10 yards and literally tackled our defensive linemen all game lmmaaaooo and still lost. The season may prove me wrong. This drive is the one where it seems that things clicked in McCord with the offense. You know it is, you get "aha" moment where things make sense and the game slows down for you. The tunnel vision goes away.
Coach Freeman and his defensive/line coach didn't know they were missing a DE until after the game. Want to know how? They were 1 DE short for two plays in the end zone. 😂
No one is reporting Lou Holtz said > "ND was going to win by 10 points" - not just that they were the more physical team ? -- Obviously that didn't happen.
Are Freeman and Golden supposed to go suit up and not let OSU get 60+ yards in a minute? It was 4th and 7, game on the line, ND had 11 players on the field, what happened? Pass complete to Fleming for a 1st down. How was that on the coaches? Lol
I miss Coach Meyer. A few losses but a Natty and an undefeated record against TTUN. I wish the Buckeyes would bring him back in a motivational capacity or a assistant coach. Yup thats a pipe dream.
As someone whos not only a fan of ohio state but somebody who is from the very city he was born in and 2 roads from the road named after him. He definitely deserves his criticism but his accomplishments cant be taken away either. Nobody is perfect but he certainly looks good in these settings
I am surprised that Ohio State did not take a knee on the extra point attempt. Had ND blocked the kick and scooped and scored the game would have been tied. With only 1 second remaining ND had no opportunity for a field goal.
That 11th player would have had an O Tackle right in his face. The same O Tackle who didnt touch anyone that play. I like our chances in that situation! Go Bucks!
Golden forgot that in collage the clock stops on 1st downs and OSU ran as fast they could to line up and spiked the ball. McCord had easy target to throw too, defense playing prevent the touchdown catch. I believe that screen play by ND very poor judgment that gave OSU 30sec. Poor coaching on ND staff. The Players did the job to win, but coaches failed, that will sour taste this season.
STOP !! PLEASE STOP !! Notre Dame keeps saying they would have had a penalty if they subbed another man... NO!! The Buckeyes subbed Trayanum into the game before the final play. After that time out, Notre Dame trotted out 10 players onto the field. No one on Notre Dame's side picked up on that. OSU threw an incomplete pass. Notre Dame still had 10 players on the field. Before the last play, Thee Buckeyes subbed Trayanum for Henderson. Notre Dame could have subbed a man in then but nnnnnnoooooooooooooo !! Notre Dame didn't realize they had 10 on the field. The Official stopped Thee Buckeyes from snapping the ball until the Defense had a chance to sub but nnnnnnoooooooooooooo !! CRICKETS from the Defense. So please stop saying Notre Dame would have been penalized for subbing.
Only 10 players on the field for Notre Dame during that touchdown play? Gee, I wonder why the media didn't address that? Where's the 105 year old Lou Holtz with his criticism? 😁
Way to tough it out by a pubic hair, through an empty gap, against 10 players 😂 Harbaugh and Michigan coaches won't bail you out like NDs did for the last 4 min
Let’s keep this real shall we. Ohio State was supposed to dominate Notre Dame and easily win by four or more touchdowns. The fact that Notre Dame actually gained ranking after barely losing to a far superior team tells you something. Ohio State lost ranking even though they won.
They had 10 players on the field for the LAST 4 PLAYS....count them up...yall missing the ball spike on the goal line and the play before that....How in the WORLD does Notre Dame not know they ONLY had 10 players on the Field for 4 PLAYS...Someones getting fired
Not true. Number 0 was playing deep near the goal line and off the screen on the 3rd and 19 play. You can see him come onto the screen for the spike. There were 11 for the spike.
Gotta love Urban Meyer. One of College football’s greatest coaches. And I personally believe he’s not finished coaching. In my opinion, Notre Dame will eventually fire or not extend Marcus Freeman’s contract, which will leave room for a job offer by Notre Dame to Urban Meyer to be the next head coach. Notre Dame will, and should make an historic contract offer, making Urban Meyer the highest paid coach in all of college football. Urban will lead them to the playoffs, but only God knows if they will win it all. Just remember, Urban Meyer will be the next head coach at Notre Dame.
