How to IMPROVE your TURNOUT (ballet at home)

- You can get acquainted with a special set of exercises to improve turnout from Russian ballerina Maria Khoreva.
In ballet, turnout (also turn-out) is rotation of the leg at the hips which causes the feet (and knees) to turn outward, away from the front of the body. This rotation allows for greater extension of the leg, especially when raising it to the side and rear. Turnout is an essential part of classical ballet technique.
Turnout is measured in terms of the angle between the center lines of the feet when heels are touching, as in first position. Complete turnout (a 180° angle) is rarely attainable without conditioning. Various exercises are used to improve turnout by increasing hip flexibility (to improve movement range), strengthening buttocks muscles (to enable a dancer to maintain turnout), or both. Развлечения

What a unique workout, I loved doing this! I think it's so important that you included the flexibility part as well, ballet teachers often miss this and think students are not holding their muscles enough if they are not completely turned out

Не стоит хвалить одного профессионала за счёт критики другого. Думаю, вежливее ограничиться комплиментом Марии, не проходясь при этом по ее коллегам. На канале много англоязычной публики, незачем разжигать.

Hi! En dehors has never been my strong point, and neither it is flexibility. I'm going to be doing this video and other stretching videos Maria has to see if I see any improvement before I begging my classes again.
I'll share my experience until I go back to classes!
Day one: this hurted a little, I have lost the little flexibility I had so it's been quite difficult

Hey Masha, any tips for having a good turnout while standing??? Everything looks fine when i sit or lay down with legs in plié. While doing floor exercises I have a good turnout… but when i stand for example at the barre and i have barely 45 degrees of turnout… when i hold my back, abs and tailbone properly :(
