What's the weirdest move in your opinion?
Trump Card
Memento it literally kills the pokemon off just to lower their opponent's stats
Splash/Jump
Non
Quash
Splash, man. My buddy's cousin's sister's cellmate said if you use it, there's a 1/7500 chance your Pokemon turns into a shiny MewTwo. Trust me bro.
One time I used splash and my magikarp turned into a male jynx with a mullet. Pretty sure it’s a 1/250000000 chance.
@@manofthehills5001 I unironically wish there was a mulleted male jynx, that'd be hilarious
@@Sousabird heck yea. Tiger king jynx
As a kid who grew up only watching others play their GameBoys, I actually believed Splash would only have an effect in-game if it's Raining or if they're on top of the water.
Everytime I see the move Hold Hands, I always think about that one hilarious and obnoxious gif of a shiny Primal Groudon and Kyogre using the move together.
Chatot’s Chatter move was always weird to me because I always made the most cursed noises for Chatot to say
Lol
Chatot used Chatter!
Chatot: *incomprehensible demonic gibberish*
@@robbob7840 To be fair, that’s just parrots normally
Everyone wonders why Ash's Greninja lost to Alain's Charizard, but, come on.
It's because Greninja had Cut.
He had water shuriken
I don't think getting another neutral hitting move in replacement of one would really help against that beast of a Charizard.
@S W Well.....least he has Grass coverage.
@@castform7 I was joking because Cut is a terrible move
@@DaSheepKiller Oh I know I was trying to joke to (guess I kinda dropped the ball there). And yeah Cut sucks but it was actually pretty cool when Ash Greninja took form and used them as water kunai (I think that's how you spell it). Cooler than a dark purple blade I still don't know.
Hold hands as a move is so cute to me. They're just little pals now
“You can’t lift something heavier than yourself”
uhhh yes you can???
My favorite part of the bike story is in the Vietnamese Crystal bootleg, where it is directly translated as the bike (The imprecatory bike) dragging the boy to hell.
JPR: 6:59 "Obviously you cant lift something that's heavier than yourself"
Weightlifters: Years of academy training wasted!
This was pretty funny to me, because even non-weightlifters can lift above their weight. Not everyone mind you, bur it's definitely not impossible.
I heard this too and I was confused as well. I’m 120ish and I can lift 200 in terms of pounds (lol I’d be concerned if it was kilos considering my stature). I’m not a weightlifter so that’s not impressive. But yeah the Filipina Olympian who claims to be around 120 and lifting 500 has some explaining if we can’t lift something heavier than ourselves.
Yeah I was like did he really just say that? I can lift several times my body weight haha
@@brandonyoung4910 with "several times" you mean "a little more than one time/twice at best", unless you're super trained person?
PS: the world record is a little more than 4 times the weght of the lifter, if I understood it well
@@nerdyfalco408 little more than 2.5x my bodyweight deadlift
the absolute sin of hold hands and celebrate still in gen 8 while psycho boost isn't. it's like game freak forgot lugia can have that move legally
rip any evidence of purified Shadow Lugia ;(
@@JPRPokeTrainer98 we always have it's ribbons 😔
It's not like they'd allow it in online, since it'd need the Battle Ready mark.
This is annoying. They shouldn’t have removed any moves from the game.
I didn't know about that Curse fun fact, it makes so much sense now!
This dude knows esoteric Pokemon knowledge
We need a part 2 to this. I always thought the move smellingsalt was weird as a kid and none of my friends seem to remember it's existance
Wouldn’t it be cool if hold hands, increases the catch rate of wild Pokemon
Lol yeah we just have our Pokémon hold down the other mon’s hand until they got in the ball
In doubles, it'll increase the happiness of ally.
the curse glitch isnt rly a glitch tho, you target yourself when using stat-boosting moves, hence why it works like that when switching functionality. its more like an oversight if anything :)
I think them randomly giving Ariados a signature move like 18 years later is the weirdest thing I learned about in this video
Curse in english also has a double meaning- it's curse, but it's also swear. Swearing is scientifically proven to ease pain and get you riled up, so the stat boosts make sense too, whereas ghost-types get to put actual curses onto other mons.
And now you are imagining Snorlax letting out a hearty "blyat" when you boost him up.
"Obviously you can't lift something heavier than yourself"
Has this man never heard of a weightlifter before? lmao
Or ants lol
Imagine if Galvantula, another arachnid pokemon, got Toxic Thread. It might have been teched in competitively, since it slowed down the opponent while also poisoning them. While the Z-Move variant increases it's speed by one seems nice, slowing down the opponent is the point of the move and not even Galvantula would be able to truly utilize this except for specific switch ins.
It's unfortunate since we only have so few spider pokemon.
Actually curse still works with the pun...a ghost type is using its life force to curse you while anything non ghost type is cursing up a storm
Two signature moves being introduced the Sword and Shield are weird. One is Snap Trap and the other one is Jaw Lock. Snap Trap is a Grass-type move and the signature move of Galarian Stunfisk which is a Ground/Steel type, meaning it cant get STAB for it unless it gets it type changes to Grass with its Mimicry ability when on Grassy Terrain. Jaw Lock is a Dark-type moves and is the signature move of Drednaw, which is Water/Rock type - and its cant get STAB for it at all! I get it that some biting moves (Bite and Crunch) are Dark-types, but still.
Jaw Lock should have been given to some Dark-types such as Krookodile or maybe Carnivine would get Snap Trap in the Gen4 remakes.
I mean, they gave Darkest Lariat to more Pokemon, so why not Jaw Lock?
7:00
Yup, that's why the world record for bench press is 300 pounds.
0:50 Did this man just censor the word h*cking 🤣
Did you?
Gen 7 was just like: let's just give some Pokemon signature moves years after their introduction.
An idea for a future video you might want to create a series detailing on what your version of your very own pokemon game could be. Your own region, pokemon, evil team etc. Similar to HoopsandHipHop Pokemon Cardinal, Lockstin's Kaskade Region and Truegreen7 Asone Region
might give it a shot!
@@JPRPokeTrainer98 I wonder if something like
the Nations Strength of a Pokemon-Region has ever
been covered... by anyone.

I love how Sword & Shield is like, "Hey man, so you know how you have this event-exclusive, super rare, and/or otherwise *completely unobtainable* move? Yeah... I would _totally_ just delete that- it isn't in the game anymore anyways. Then, once you've forgotten the move, *it can never be learned again- EVER!* ...But, I mean, I probably wouldn't worry about it." Like no I'm good lol 🙄
I definitely understand removing _some_ of the moves because of redundancy and such- but even if they can't be used anymore, or are just totally pointless, I'll still keep them anyways if they're unique like that 🤷🏻♂️
Neat analysis! Thanks for uploading!
I liked the video but you made an unforgivable (Ok, I'm exaggerating) mistake. You said it's impossible to lift something heavier than yourself, but ants can lift 5,000 times their body weight.
Ants are kinda cool.
sharpen
Would love a part 2!
For Greninja, anime specifically, I can assume that because Ash-Greninja was heralded as a hero of sorts the use of Cut as a blade of white light was better suited to represent this, contrary to those who use Night Slash who's animation is the same as Cut but with a darker, shadowy blade as its use. As mentioned in the video, a lot of evil team members or those like the ninjas that have that whole shadowy aesthetic would opt for that so the comparison between the two may have been why Greninja kept using Cut instead.
Cursing yourself if you are protean is not a glitch. Here’s what’s happening under the hood:
-use slow-curse, as you aren’t ghost
-the move targets yourself, to change your stats
-become ghost type
-use ghost type curse
-but it still targets yourself, since that’s what it targeted when you used the slow-curse
Not a glitch, so of course it wouldn’t be fixed. It’s all working as intended.
Curse is still a pun in English cause the ghost type would be laying a curse on you and the non ghost type..............I imagine it literally sits there cursing which makes it angry raising it's attack but since it's so busy swearing it's not moving much/being too distracted lowering its speed.
Actually the XY curse thing isn't a glitch
It's the intended outcome
At the biggining of the turn the non ghost type Pokémon targeted itself with curse to raise it's Atk and Def but lose on Speed
Than it's ability activates making him a ghost type changing the effect of the move, but, because you pick your target before your type changes, you are forced to curse yourself
Does the sky drop glitch still work in pokemon sun & moon or was it patched out?
huh, caught this just as it was uploaded, neat
Does anyone know the name of the song that plays at 0:11?
7:02 so I apparently broke real life’s physics engine while doing chin ups with extra weights
@7:31 to 7:34
The answer to that is: Because it's Ash. The same Ash that was known for not evolving his Pokemon, didn't win a tournament in 15 years but finally did after 22 years. OQver 800 episodes later and he still hasn't caught 100 Pokemon, released fully evolved Pokemon and the same Ash that told his Pidgeot (before releasing it) that he would come back for it - 23 years ago and never did. Having cut as a move on a powerful Pokemon is totally in Ash's character.
In Pokémon yellow you can catch a Kadabra with Kenesis

@@loturzelrestaurant is that a book?
Now, wait a minute. Kinesis may never have been used by name as a battle technique in the anime, but there is some spoon bending going on during one of the Saffron City Gym Episodes. It's been a little too long since I've watched the series, but I distinctly remember Ash seeing some implied Kinesis happening when first going into the Gym.
Aerial Ace is named after a sword technique which is why non-flying pokemon can learn it.
8:28 You know a very honorable thing to do 🤷🏻♂️
5:45 Can we just talk about how both Sucker Punches failed?
so why doesn’t Hop have a magikarp? lol
When you said Pokemon GO released 5 years ago I felt really old all of a sudden
Both the ninja guy's Greninja had nightslash
spicy stringshot lmao.
frt if they really wanted to make ariodos better they should have made TOXIC thread do toxic damage instead of regular poison. or maybe make it really op and make it toxic +spider web
With how bad ariados is, Toxic + Spider Web sounds cool. Just as long as it's only Ariados that can get it
Here in Greece I got an event shiny Ho oh with celebrate in ORAS
They got rid of Return, but they kept Hold Hands? How rude!
You could say it cause some *frustration* huh?
Psychic fangs is probably biting with fangs made of psychic energy
The curse "glitch" might actually be intentional, to represent someone meddling in dark magics they aren't supposed to. Like when summoning a demon backfires on the summoner
The curse glitch is not so much a glitch, but moreso a feature that doesnt work the way most think it would. When a non-ghost type uses the move, it targets itself to raise its own attack and defense, while lowering speed. A ghost type using curse, however, targets the opponent, and curses them. So when a non-ghost type gains the ghost type before using curse, it uses the ghost type curse targeting itself, which curses itself. You can see this targeting mechanic in double battles, when you select who you want to effect with curse.
Honestly, I think splash should have a 1% chance of the one hit KO. That way, we can have splash only playthroughs of future games
Weird moves are neat
Red and green? Gen 1 was red and blue in America. It was red and green in the remakes.
When the first generation Pokémon games were released in Japan, it was Pokémon Red & Green versions. The Pokémon Blue version that we're familiar with here in the US is actually just the updated version of the original Red & Green (it's the "third" game of the first generation; like Crystal, Emerald, Platinum -etc. Yellow is kind of an exception though, it's just a special version of Red & Blue based off of the anime.)
So generation one actually has four core series games: Pokémon Red, Green, Blue & Yellow 🙂
I’d be completely okay with splash being simultaneously normal and water type.
Curse is just a move that makes the user swear
I like Ariados so a stat boost would be awesome but nooooo...
7:03 idk man alot of people squat their weight or more
the curse "glitch" is not really a glitch. it's expected behavior. look up freezai curse on RUclips for an explanation
Hell yeah!
Quash.
That's all I'm saying. *Quash*
It has its uses in double battles
@@GoldGuard A *very* niche use.

I heard krookodile?
4:53 Are you KIDDING ME! Hidden Power, Return, good early game moves. Nah screw those. Let's keep in Celebrate and HOLD HANDS! Gamefreak's genius knows no bounds.
Return is the best normal type move
Ikr 🙄 they really are totally ridiculous lol
Idk about that comment of not lifting something heavier than yourself, it's done by many people all the time.
Belly Drum
You should be able to lift more than you weigh
i'm i hearing Trails Of Cold Steel OST? alright, take the like
Is that the one playing in the beginning of the video? If it is could you tell me the name of it
This is hacking confusing
Noroi sounded cool as a name but I was wary of the meaning. Though contextually slow may not refer to the mind at all, English speaking looking it up and finding it at the moment feels like it’d result in name calling or other thing, generally is unfortunate.
I see "noroi" and I can only think of DIO.
"Noroi" means mud in romanian
"Obviously you cant lift somthing heavyer than yourself" speak for yourself, please.
I'm 180 pounds and bench 350 pounds
That's lifting more than me lol
Am I the only one who read weirdest Pokemon movies🤣🤣
Why can't you lift something heavier than yourself?
I hate Sky Drop
