    This was an inspirational interview with a truly visionary ex Prime Minister in Paul Keating. His analysis of Abbott is so correct, that it truly astounds me why the Australian voting public would EVER consider putting him in the lodge! His far right lunacy, coupled with his absolute lack of ONE policy measure that would benefit this nation (not that we have heard one bit of future policy from him at all really), truly frightens me. His only doctrine is 'turn back the boats'...disgraceful!!

Keating is an inspiration to this nation; not only for his masterful reforms and achievements in office, but also for his occasional but extremely valuable contributions every so often in the media. Does anyone at present, in either party, have the ability to match it with Keating's intellect and economic foresight...especially the economic reforms that developed us into a nation that allowed Howard to squander the good times that Keating laid the platform for?

    I've just revisited this vid clip and it makes even more sense now than three years ago. Abbott is a goose but it is quite obvious now that he is Murdoch's goose. Morrison is the accidental PM - he wasn't part of the script and Dutton and Co. fucked up their numbers and it's quite obvious that the Morrison vote was an "anyone but Dutton" vote. Now we have a happy clapper, speaking in tongues PM who is a Christian in claim but not in nature.

  • @INsanedod
    @INsanedod 9 лет назад +7

    He always could spot a dud, he can read people, know what they are about to say and do. A rare talent.
    Turnbul ...OK he says, Abbott big alarm bells.
    Turns out, again...he called it correct. Keating is not perfect but his call (4:10) on Abbott and "Historical Lies" shows him to have called his tactics...even before Abbott did them.
    If he speaks... even if you "don't like him cause he is ALP" listen, the experience of this person, his advice should not be taken lightly.
    Look at the comments Howard made, would he have opened a Royal Commission on Unions? NO, he said no...that is how bad Abbott is.
    "No policy ambition" that... as it turns out is the number one problem with Abbott, no spark, trivial hate and fear is all this thug knows.

  • @craigbuckingham4373

    In response to the Mabo question, "and and .....goodness of heart is something that.. and honesty is something that is a core requirement on a good country, you know, truth is a necessary ingredient in a society with it's head in the air."
    How did we slide so far into decadence with our governments? This country needs to clean up politics. Stop the private funding of political parties. Create a federal ICAC with real teeth and clean out all of the corruption and criminals in politics.Politicians and their parties need to be held accountable for the promises they make. If you lie to the Australian public there should be minimum mandatory prison sentences and/or community service and public shaming. Stripping of elected power and new elections called. Same as drug cheats in sport. Strip them of their titles. We need a commission dealing with the dopes in politics like there is for the doping in sport. Come on Australia, do we want to decay into more corruption like 3rd world countries or do we want a fairer society? Start demanding from and pushing your representatives for changes that will bring about a fairer society. If enough of us are united and share the same voice it can and will happen.

    • @yuyupha1231
      @yuyupha1231 6 лет назад

      Paul I imagine Keating would be equally savage against Scott Morrison being the new PM . Remember that Morrison as Treasurer fought for the $80 BILLIONS OF DOLLARS in tax cuts to the corporations that already pay little or no tax relative to their profits , at his last budget ( confirming Morrison's faith in the INTERNATIONALLY discredited economic ideology of trickle-down economics ) . Morrison also voted against the Royal Commission into the banks 26 times in Federal Parliament ; and at his first statement as PM , Morrison had the audacity to say that the Liberal Party is with we , the people !!
      How deluded these Liberal Party parasites actually are !!?? Keating has already said this INEPT COALITION GOVERNMENT is already dead , has no new ideas & vision to take Australia forward , & is seriously lacking the talent to turn their sinking ship around .

  • @margarethillier9188

    Yes,you're absolutely right. I can understand people being angry at Labor which,to some extent,is justified. They want to punish the ALP and,in particular,Julia Gillard. However,when doing so would result in Tony Abbott becoming P.M,the consequences will be dire for the entire nation. Look what's happening in Qld. Most who voted LNP are now deeply regretting it. To elect Abbott would punish the incumbent Govt,but it would punish those who rely upon & espouse the ALPs principles even more.
