Gundam_facts bonus content: - both the Zanneck's Cannon and the Jabaco's beam rifle seem to be able to fire special kinds of beams, which upon reaching a certain distance, will morph into a taurus shape, causing electric disruption to any suit caught in their circle. - on multiple occasions, the Gengaozo's back engine unit has been shown firing interesting beam variants: either continuous thick beam showers, either lightning-like red thin beams (nicknamed cradle beams by some Japanese fans). - it is actually unclear if the Rig Contio Shot Claw is cable connected to the suit, or an independent bit-like variant. The first idea is supported by the MS Bible and the TV series depiction, while the other is backed by games renderings. - Buffo is actually a mistranslation of Buch from the geniuses who are translating F90FF. The Buch Concern is actually the company that manufactured most of the Crossbone Vanguard Mobile suits
I remember the first time I watched Victory, the Rig Contio was my second favorite Zanscare MS behind the first Shokew. Thank you for another intriguing and fantastic video!
Speaking of odd beam weapons, have you heard anything about the Gallus J's "energy gun" originally being supposed to be something along the lines of the Unicorn's beam magnum? I recall that someone brought that up in the mahq forums a long time ago, but IIRC it seems it was an early idea that didn't go very far, leaving us just a very awkward weapon design, I dare say even redundant in the case of the Gallus J which already has missile launchers in its shoulders that it can fire while using handheld weapon. I don't think we even see the weapon in question being used in ZZ at all and in Unicorn the lone Gallus J that appeared (at Torrington, engaging the Byarlant Custom) was using a Hizack beam rifle instead. The idea of giving the Gallus J such as weapon doesn't seem so out of place either, given its rather high generator output which it doesn't seem to have much use for it it is only using a beam rifle & beam sabers. I would also like to hear your thoughts on the Zaku III's mega launcher, the "bazooka" mentioned in the wikia, whose lineart depicts it being plugged into the chest of the of the Zaku III in a similar fashion to a Gaza C's knuckle buster. I think this weapon would what could give the infamous Zaku III vs Doven Wolf argument a leg to stand on as competing 4th gen MS.
I have a toy of this from around 93-94. A comic shop had Gundam toys that blew my TMNT/Xmen/Batman kid mind! They had caps that covered the screws, and weapons actually stayed in their hands!!! I have 3-5 from Victory and an F91. ❤
My favorite suit from Zanscare, just like how bulky and armed to teeth it is. I always assumed the wired shot claws were quasi psycommu but couldn't find anything that confirmed or denied that fact and seeing your bonus content comment the Rig contio's shot claw can't be asked either.
To be completely fair it was something that was confirmed only recently with F90 Fastest Formula, with the whole Lore of the Euryale bis ending by hinting the Contio
@@gundamfacts speaking of Euryale and Monthly Mobile Machine in general, it'd be cool if you made even just a short about RF Gromlin II and the... things mentioned in that entry
Yea it's just really weird because most suits are explained pretty upfront with there information but the Contio's shot claws need a manga years later to explain a connection. I blame Zanscare for having a higher number of wire based weapons than most gundam factions you got the beam strings, the Galguyu's claw and the contio's own beam saber wouldn't surprise me If I'm forgetting some.
I thought the Contio used the Shy-Tarn as its basis: it’s another bulky space use MS and even has the exact same wrist beam shield as the prototype Contio. I do realize that the model numbers, ZM-S19S for the Shy Tarn and ZM-S14S for the Contio, would suggest otherwise, but perhaps the Contio’s quasi psycommu system & remote weapon delayed its introduction. Consider that the Memedorza (probably my favorite Zanscare MS despite its brief appearance), with the model number ZMT-S16G, was also introduced much earlier than the Contio. And don’t forget the ZMT-D15M Galguyu, which also appeared a bit earlier. And aside from the Shy Tarns guarding the Amelia colony, we actually see the wreckage of even more units among the forces returning from the battles with the EF, suggesting that those were technically already around since episode 17, when we see the Sugan fleet depart the Amelia colony in the first place.
This might very well be my most favorite video you have made. Before your videos I didn't like Zanscare MS as much but learning about them has given me a real appreciation for them.
Thank you for making this! My knowledge is lacking in late UC MS since it's one of the first shows I've watched, therefore prone to memory loss, maturity and lack of context knowledge; and is a lesser exposed part of UC.
Very interesting detail about contio and where it came from and development history and it variants of cantio you did good job for detail facts about contio. ;3
Why why would you skip the ZMT-S33S Gottrlatan I wanna know ABOUT IT and only you can teach me about the MS why Though at the same time, this was an amazing video Good working keep it up bro.
I was lazy and found the loophole I needed to complete the video quicker (but at the same time I savekept my fifth Zanscare suit for a future Top 5 video)

Every time you upload a late UC suit video, the closer we get to the F90s/Crossbone/Phantom development history video.
He saved Formula Series Development History for later
@@spikmaster18 I hope that later comes soon 🙏
@leoornstein3963 I hope so, but so far it seems he'll covet something else first
Phantom development history is something i will do a 100% in the future

Sweet, nourishing, nutritious UC 100's content.
Contio is a whole Marshmallow to eat
Man that a Fascinating lore about the Contrio.
I cannot wait for the lore that leads up to the Zanspine (despite too little too late on development)
Thanks to me bypassing the Gottralatan, I savekept the suit for a future Top 5 video (which will of course include the Zanspine)
How do we not have more gunpla from the late Universal Century? The enemy Mobile Suits are insanely powerful.
Where are them goddamn late UC high grades Bandai, WHERE
