Callas is simply mesmerizing. Gorgeous, charming, playful and quick-witted, she conveys more personality in this 1:11, interview clip than any current opera singer could convey in an hour.
Looking gorgeous!! Imagine having such a passion for music and having to put up with all that nonsense always swirling around her. She handles it with grace.
La Divina is strikingly beautiful in this interview. She was exceptional on all levels - talent, intelligence, artistry, strength, integrity, honesty, elegance and beauty. "I never threw anything at anyone.....unfortunately." She was always at least one step ahead of the rest of the world.
For those wondering why Beecham is shouting - he was an old man, and probably wasn't used to the new-fangled concept of a live TV link-up. Even the host is behaving as if he's not used to the technology, looking up awkwardly at (presumably) Beecham's face being "beamed" into a TV monitor above his head.
it would appear maria callas could handle any circumstance when given the opportunity and as far as the entertainment of her beautiful she knew full well all the attention the audience paid to looks while her character and talent were equally as important if not more so all you have to do is read the comments even today although digging a little deeper one realizes most comments are usually self motivated at least in this format
est-ce que quelqu'un pourrait mettre des sous-titres français sous les interviews en anglais je vous en supplie il n'y a pas beaucoup interview de Maria Callas en Français 😭
Hi. I'd like to know where did you find this video clip. You see I have been looking for a copy of one of the episodes of this show of Ed Murrow. I have been looking for a copy of the show's episode which featured the interview of Manila Mayor Arsenio H. Lacson in March 1959. ("Small World: Episode #1.23" (1959)). If you could help me on this, I will really appreciate it. Please, oh please do help me. Many thanks for your attention.
