You gave Beware half a star more than I did 😂 Bummer that the third book in Empire of the Wolf wasn’t better. I’m glad you had such a great reading month!
Beware was such a shit show but I did like the killer storyline so he got half a star extra for effort. 🤣🤣
wow! what a great reading month. i recently finished the women and i agree with everything you said. i just loved the pacing, the themes, the characters, the history...just, everything. i felt like i was frankie's friend and felt so honored to be in her life.
Such a fantastic book!
The Women is circling my TBR.. I love the focus on women’s stories where they are typically not highlighted, but I have an aversion to war stories right now.. but your enthusiasm makes me reconsider..
Yaaaaaay Rhodes! Perfect book!!
The Women definitely spends a long time in the war setting and it’s rough. ❤️Aurora, Rhodes and Amos🫶
I loved Ready or Not as well.
Such a fantastic surprise of a book!
I almost passed on All Rhodes Lead Here, because my library has one of those colorful, teenage covers.. grinds my gears. Makes it look like teenage fluff.
I’m not a fan of the animated covers either. I had to buy my copy off eBay. The original cover is so much better.
I've never read Hazelwood, and thought I would give Bride a try...but I haven't been hearing the best things. Damn, Laymon got beat out for the worst of the month! Looking glass was a big disappointment for me too.
Misery 💜 Other books I just read last week: "what was the MC's name again?" King books I read 10 years ago: I know first and last name of characters still.
There was actually a book worse than Laymon!! So accurate, I could list to at least 10 King characters with no problem but don’t ask me the names of any of the characters from the book I’m currently reading. 🤣🤣🤣
Man that is a lot of books read, impressive. I kinda like the disturbing books lol, but will keep checking your channel out for good reads.
Thank you!😊
I love how many 5 stars you found! That's so cool
If only every month could be so good! 🤣📚
I’ve put off Normal Women because I just know it’s not going to be as good as Motherthing 😅
Ahhhh this makes me so excited to read Ready or Not!! Also I just got the tainted cup on Libby, I can’t wait!
So bummed about Normal Women!😩 I hope you love Ready or Not and The Tainted Cup!!
I have never read a Richard Laymon book. I'm not sure if I ever will🤣
Laymon is definitely an acquired taste.🤣
He, Graham Masterton & Bentley Little are all very problematic.
I read the first book in the Expanse series and didn’t love it.
But I’m watching the TV series and it’s sooo good!
I definitely plan to check out the series once I’ve read a few more books. I’m afraid of spoilers. 🤣
You dnfed a book you didn't know you were dnfing 😅 oh glad to know raiders of the lost Heart wasn't awful. I couldn't get over the absolute no explanation of how the time travel worked in Kindred.
🤣 I never really 💯 understand any sci fi book I read.
Sorry I'm so late to this, Venus! I have so many videos to catch up on. 🙈
And forgive me but I'm commenting as I watch. 😁
That's so disappointing about Midnight on Beacon Street. I was looking forward to it too but now I think I'll pass.
And I already heard about Richard Laymon so I know to stay away from him.
Deep Freeze I tried and it just wasn't grabbing me. Like you said not much was happening. But I like the audiobook so I'll see if I can finish it that way.
I want to try reading Misery because I love the movie so much but I heard about the chapters that are parts of the book he's writing and that made me not want to read it. Hmm... maybe I'll give it a try
"Whooped his brother's ass." 😄😄😄
The "human canoe"!!! Omg I forgot all about that! 🙈😄
But yesssss I'm so glad we both loved The Ascent too! Favorite of the year so far! I shared an interview that the author did and he said there will be a book 2. Yay! Can't wait! 🙌🏾
I need other crime thriller recommendations like it please. 🙏🏾
So glad you had such a great reading month, Venus! Hope March is going well for you too. ☕️📚😊
Awww thank you so much for watching Nakia! You will definitely be bored with Midnight on Beacon Street. 🤣
The audiobook is what helped me finish Deep Freeze. 😬
You could definitely read Misery and not miss much be skipping over the excerpts from Paul’s book. That’s what I did. 😂
Hope you’re having a great reading month so far. I’m in a bit of a slump. 😩
@@VenusEscapesToRead Oh no! I hope it gets better soon! The same thing happened to me last month.
I didn't like Midnight on Beacon Street either!! Ugh thankfully it was short because I was so bored too!
It was such a disappointment.😩
I read Midnight on Beacon Street in February and gave it a 2 Star as well. My least favorite read of the year so far. The set up was great but the execution fell flat for me. Just bored. I am hoping the next book from this author is better and willing to give them another chance.
So boring! I agree I would definitely give the author another chance.
Richard laymon honestly sounds atrocious i tend to struggle with male authors,
Definitely not for you if you struggle with male authors. 🤣 Laymon is a hot mess. Have you tried Riley Sager(thriller) or Grady Hendrix (horror)? They write pretty good female characters.
