AS someone who's started learning about bears via Joe Rogan, I can confidently say that no one, not even a vampire, wants to fight a bear if they can help it. Especially not a gigantic huge as hell skyrim cave bear. Those things are terrifying!! So Hert being unwilling to fight a bear makes sense to me.
If this is at the lumber mill then yes she knows and will sometimes say "some people dont do buisness with us because we are vampires" or "the dawnguard has left us alone so far as long as we sustain ourselves on animal blood"
Something along that line.
If its not at the mill then idk who that is 🤷♀️
You might want to check out the little shack in the background
My first character was a stealthy one who I got Daedric armor on and was also a werewolf…
I just… it was my first character and I never figured out how to activate the werewolf form 😂 but with Mehrune’s Razor, Molag’s Mace, and stealth the only true terror is that I enchanted my armor with low enchantments before I figured out how enchanting works 🤦♂️
Puny mortal often forget that being a vampire is a curse all that power often means nothing being one it is not a good thing
"Im not a vampire, im just allergic to garlic and sunburn easily"
Funny thing is, vampires' aversion to garlic is a myth in TES lore. There's only one known vampire to have a severe negative reaction to garlic, and he's the one who openly notes that most vampires aren't like him.
As for sunburn, there are three types of vampires in TES universe- and only one (a very ancient type) does not experience negative affects in sunlight.
@@hauntedshadowslegacy2826can the ancient type make u a vampire, so that when ur a vampire u also don't experience negative effects
Did you guys also kill hert and her man?
@@RaffleRaffle actually yes, the Volkihar Vampires (from the Dawnguard DLC) are those vampire that aren't really affected by Sunlight and you can become one of them, either by having the Lord of the Volkihar turn you at the start of the questline or to have Serana turn you near the halfway point of the storyline
@@theseamoon2180 HauntedShadowLegacy was talking about Lamae Bal, the very first vampire's bloodline, which are completely unaffected by sunlight, and are strongest at night, the volkihar still have some pretty apparent downsides during the day
She's gotta keep up appearances don't ya know. She was probably gonna kill it but someone came to buy lumber and was like "by TALOS is that a BEAR I hear in your HOME?! fear not for I shall fetch the companions for you!"
Lmao😂🤣😂
Isn't Skyrim the land of warriors? So like she would be expected to kill it herself?
@@awesomedolphin9675not to this extent lol. Bears are still pretty rough for humans to deal with
@@SororiaAltria I guess that makes sense, but still why would she call the companions in the first place?? Doesn't she also have a vampire husband too?? And don't vamlires have a charm ability so if someone saw the bear going in and called the companions then she could've charmed them not too??
Bro that's a great theory.
Hert is the nicest vampire in all of Tamriel next to Serana. She actually runs a business in Skyrim and makes a living for herself.
I hope the remains in their shed belonged to briggans then
Except it's in the lore that she and her mate, Hern, actually prey on local travelers. Hence why she's able to remain in sunlight. If you don't believe me, you can just look at the Skyrim wiki. Not such a nice vamp, is she?
@@RealMothman98 if that’s the truth, then why does she not attack us when we first see her?
Aren't they the 2 vampires that you are sent to kill in the Dark Brotherhood questline because they feed on travelers?

I can’t say I’ve ever seen it
I wish I had it’s so strange how they’re so obvious but you can’t call it out
@@Ooffoop I cant remember the situation exactly, it mightve even been a DLC feature
@@milahleland4145 I believe that's the DB quest to assassinate them. One of your options is to just straight call them out on their vampirism, iirc.
I remember specifically a quest in I believe Falkreath where a man murdered his family because of a girl the guy liked and that girl being a vampire (the exact circumstances may be wrong, but that's the jist). If you talk to the girl, she tries to seduce you, but if your a vampire, instead she says this is her territory.
@@Belf_Mainsiel I think it's a quest from Morthal.. The vampire's name is Alva.
I kind of miss the days before Dawnguard when it was an actual mystery figuring out if someone was a vampire.
Their eyes were still red though, but not glowing and not as obvious as after the DLC

Dark brotherhood quest my brother 💀
Just cause of some of the replies I meant this as a joke like he killed him rather than an answer ahah cause he shows up for me before the quest :)
She's supposed to have a husband?
Her husband doesn't spawn until you do the Dark Brotherhood questline
I could be her husband. 😏
He only spawns during the Dark Brotherhood quest in which he's a target, though if spawned using cheats, he functions as a normal NPC and can sell lumber like other mill owners if Hearthfire is installed.
Ah, we do love a bit of vampire/werewolf solidarity!
Funny how two vampires own a lumber yard where they have to work outside most of the day. You would think they would own a shop or an inn so they can be inside during the daytime. But hey, who am I to judge.
If i recall correctly they sleep all day and only work the mill at night. I thought nothing of it till i read a guide somewhere.
@@Robplayswithdragons she works in daytime i always buyed wood from her to build my home from hearthfire dlc.

Nah, not Hert.
My girl works a 9-5. Breaking her immortal backside at the mill. 😂
She's afflicted by Noxiphilic Sanguivoria, not Sanguinare Vampiris. Vampires of that strand are neither weakened by the sun, nor does it hurt them. Instead they are strengthened by the night. Fun fact, it's also the only type of vampire that doesn't get stronger the more they starve, instead they get stronger the more they feed. The more you know.
A 1000 years old vampire: help, oh, help me! A mudcrab is in my tent!
Bandits with iron daggers: that guy dressed in dragon bones just killed a dragon with his bare hands, ate his soul and shouted at the sky to make rain stop. Let's rob him!
"We're Werewolves." I can imagine the dragon born saying that, very nonchalant.
"She could probably kill the bear herself"
Nah 🗿 it's a werebear bro
More like she's hoping the bear will weaken you enough for an easy meal. Hert and Hern are well aware of their vampirism.
Vampires hiring werewolves to kill bears
Only in skyrim
Honestly, you might be on to something. When dawnguard first came out there were a couple moments like talking to the court wizard in Solitude being like “Holy shit, you’re a vampire???” And she responds to you completing her side job like “Vampires living in caves… uncivilized creatures aren’t they??” 😂😅
She then follows up with “I prefer refinery and luxury” or something like that. It makes sense, get yourself under control enough and you could probably live a pretty awesome life. Though you’ll have to watch those people you care about die over and over again probably after raising them like she did with Torrig
Same bro
Tbf in skyrim the sun wont kill her, the bear sure as hell will

THIS after I had a dream featuring the sentence: "so it's just you and I. A vampire and a werewolf. Are we all that's left?" Didn't finish the dream, but this clip makes me more upset about that.
Wait till you find the little shack at their mill, that's some Dahmer shit
In Skyrim, the vampires are watered down like the skooma.
Oh. The trap.
I love this one it's all a set up to kill you for food because they didn't know you are werewolves
What's interesting about those two, is that they're one of the only vampires who are perfectly comfortable being in broad daylight with little to no discomfort or malady.
To put into perspective, Serana is a Daughter of Coldharbor, about as close to first generation for vampires as it gets, and probably the strongest variant of vampirism.
And she *complains* about the sun.
You yourself can be turned by either her or Harkon into a similar tier of vampirism, and you don't come out of it unscathed in sunlight either.
So, what gives? Are they just really good actors? Creepy humans wearing contact lens???
@Javsco so are you suggesting all vampires in Skyrim are from one particular strain of vampirism that only weakens them in the sun and doesn't burn them?
I'm pretty sure her husband is at some point a target for Dark Brotherhood and doesn't show up until that quest is active but you are told you don't have to kill her. It's possible you weren't far off with her not knowing what she's cable of but she obviously knows she's a vampire but I think, just as a theory, is that her husband my be a run away Volakhir vampire and the dark brotherhood was "hired" so whomever was responsible for her husband didn't feel like bothering hunting for him but more than likely he's been killing travelers and that's another reason if not the sole reason he's a target.
no they know, they even brag about luring visitors to their in.

I'm pretty sure she was a vamp before dawngaurd
Have you ever gone into her shed and saw the skull, bloody rags and "raw beef" sitting around everywhere? She knows!
"a guest, oh my" 😏
There's a fan theory that the Dragonborn's aedric soul allows them to see through a vampire's magic and recognize what they really are.
That doesn't make sense in the elder scrolls lore. In Skyrim, they can detect when you are a Vampire, because they attack you on sight
@@Shalyn-ln9tu only if you're blood-starved. Any of the prior stages, they simply comment that you look pale, or 'what, you scared of sunlight or something?'

I always like when I'm a khajit werewolf and get comments like "is that fur coming out of your ears". Like mate, I'm a cat
When I first visited this place I got excited because I'd never seen another vampire that wasn't hostile (obviously except for the ones at volkihar)

Even vampires have phobias.
I usually end up fighting vampires to the death, but this one gives me lumber to build my house sooooo... I’ll just pretend I don’t see those human skulls in her shack
I also didn't know that I was turning into vampire untill the message "your blood is boiling up" popped up suddenly😅
I was looking at her like hold up is she a vamp
Hert is a vampire she is also a level-ten lumberjack she is not that powerful of a vampire and she can be in the daylight it will not hurt her and she will not hurt you as a player she followed me off and a flame atronach killed her fire is her weakness I saw her on fire and by the time I got to her it was too late but I killed the flame atronach that killed her she reads books 📚 on werewolves I know I was her friend and she let me stay in her house take whatever I wanted and sleep in her bed it was when she started to fight for me she got killed she only levels to 10 I was in level 18 she will not level up with you she is a lumberjack and one of the friendliest vampires you'll ever meet that will not attack you with besides serana I love hert
I've had Hert as friend before and she's come to my defense using vampire powers, so yeah, she knows she's a vampire.
That said, some vampires are incredibly weak, and might not win by themselves against a bear.
Imagine being this ageless being, thought to be immortal, only to die from a random bear...
I think that right next to their lumbermill there is a shack in which there are human and troll skulls, which is why these vampires are probably strong enough to fight a bear. They live near Falkreath after all, they have to be able to adapt to the wilds.
@@feedarman4888 it was probably a weakened troll. Like the giant the Companions fought when you meet some of them on that farm.
I'm telling you, Hert (and Hern, for that matter) are pretty weak. Not Nazeem weak, but they couldn't 2v1 a Bandit Highwayman.
@@thelostone4303 How do you figure the giant was weakened? Is it because he dealt less damage/tanked less hits than giants usually do? That’d be because of bethesda staging the fight to show off the companions to the newer players who followed the main road on their way to Whiterun. Your argument doesn’t hold much merit because there’s no way to know if the troll was weakened or not, and even if it was, a weakened troll would still be arguably stronger than a cave bear.
edit: also how do you define a “weakened troll”? If we take their insane hp regen into account then the only way a troll’d be weakened is if they haven’t consumed anything to fuel their innate regeneration abilities, which would be far-fetched to say the least seeing as how there’s plenty of wildlife and humans around falkreath to feast upon.
@@feedarman4888 oh good lord, man. My argument holds merit cause as I said, she's been a friend of mine in playthroughs. Only to get dealt with with ease by enemies she sees attacking me by her place, causing me to reload save to keep her weak behind from dying. Usually it's the imperial soldiers give her a run for her money (if she survives), and they usually lose 2/3 men for every cave bear they defeat.
In fact, did you know at higher levels there's a chance that a basic troll can spawn near her mill somewhere between there and the that small area guarded by 2 skeleton? If you ever get that spawn just "invite" the troll over to her mill.
She level caps at 10 btw...
Not strong.
@@thelostone4303 ah, now I see, I didn’t include the leveling and in-game damage numbers into my reasoning but you did. From that point of view - sure, these vampires are weak. But if you ignore the numbers and gameplay and look at it from a lore perspective, then I believe that ampires can more than handle the imperials and bandits you mentioned. And trolls from a lore perspective are also immensely powerful creatures, certainly stronger than bears but idk if they can match vampires (depends on how old the vamps are/how much power they attained by blood consumption maybe). Trolls can also solo at least two stormcloak soldiers (see a troll and two dead bodies near the waterfalls near Ivarstead).
This stuff’s highly subjective, especially when viewing things *both with gameplay and lore in mind*. I mean, would you consider a level 1 dragonborn killing alduin powerful? From an exclusively lore perspective - yes, but when you account for gameplay among other features - hell no, a level 1 dragonborn would die in one bite of an insect on solstheim because the things on that island aren’t level 1.
My point about “weakened” trolls still stands though.
All Protagonists in TES are avatars of Lorhkan the Mortal God.

Could have been a Werebear for all she knew.
She can tell that you're a werewolf bc you smell like you've been tending your hounds😂... Oh, and is that hair behind your ears?!
Well we can all in theory kill a spider but lots of people are still so scared that they'd rather ask someone else to deal with it too, maybe she's just scared of bears for some reasons 🤣
"You wouldn't be able to tell" he said. What he doesn't seem to know is that they can smell you're werewolf scent. So... Yeah, she does know. Hahaha
...my eyes are just staring at one point
Throughout the years I knew she was a vampire. However, I didn’t know you needed to do certain quests in order for her to reveal it herself
Maybe they are more like Oblivion Vampires, who are more or less unharmed by the sun if they feed on a regular bases.
