Never apologize for sharing your emotions or feelings with others. We are all human. We all have them. Societal stigmas against opening up and sharing our inner selves lead to people closing down, feeling disconnected, withdrawing into their heads, feeling useless, and possibly slipping toward suicide. Opening your heart to others is a risk, but one worth taking. A risk that may save your life - or someone else. It is exactly what Jake shares in his music. I can`t agree more with Dann, never apologize for showing you inner soul or shedding a few tears. I have recently found Citizen Soldier and its like being hit with a freight train lyrically and Jake pours his heart into every song. I am 53 and have my own issues I struggle with, and these songs have even brought me to tears. Hoping your doing better, I hope CS has helped you find some inner piece.
Thanks so much for including all of this, its really brave to put that side of yourself out there. Tbh I hadn't been feeling the last few CS releases, they've all been good enough songs but had started to feel a bit formulaic and I wasn't really getting an emotional impact from them. But this song is just God tier, it is up there with 'Let It Burn' and 'I'm Not Okay'. Sometimes CS do this amazing thing where lyrics come together with the music to PERFECTLY encapsulate a feeling and when its a feeling you relate to it hits you so hard. And normally I don't like speaking in the middle of songs but when CS do it its just so perfect, the line "and they may never understand but that's okay" hits me so deep cos realising that helped me so much get out of my darkest places, and so also having Jake singing "decided to stay" in the background so passionately at the same time, ah man it's just like encapsulating these feelings you wouldn't have thought it was possible to express out loud but somehow they find a way. I probs cried more watching you watch it than watching it initially
😂 but sometimes crying feels good because it means you're feeling something.
I was not expecting you to get so personal in the beginning ... as someone who went through a pretty bad depression that lasted four years I can sympathize with you on feeling that way. keep your head up and know you have people out there who love and care about you 💜

I totally understand where you're coming from... I have those "I don't want to exist anymore" days almost all the time... Finally, somebody gets it. I don't want to die but I don't want to exist at the same time. Just listened to This is Your Sign yesterday to remind myself why I'm still here. This song kept me alive yesterday. No need to apologize for being human, it's comforting.

I don't think it's possible for them to put out a bad song. And if I could try and put your thoughts from about 2 minutes in into NF lyrics. In Hate myself there's a line that hits like a brick. "I don't wanna die I just want to get relief." Also yes the comments on the CS videos and the lives and songs are... wow.... I mean they really made a family there and the fact they try and respond to comments and let people know they care even on top of all they have to do in their lives is crazy. Honestly, props to you for being able to make it through your worst, S. You've won my respect and support X1000000 with opening up about your situation. Keep on doing what you do best, brother. Never give up to the worst, because you are valued and wanted by many people. And another thing, you shouldn't apologize for expressing yourself, your emotions, how you feel, whether it be writing it out in a letter of sorts for only one person to read or a song for millions to relate to. Never apologize for talking about your emotions. I know exactly how you feel. I live with epilepsy and suffer either seizures literally every day. I can't do the things that everyone can do. I can't drive, I can't have a job, and I'm scared to try and socialize without having a seizure in front of someone. This band has literally saved my life and it always makes me cry with how better they make me feel about myself. This band is a godsend and they need to be recognized more
When I first listen to the song I burst out crying it got me quite emotional, because I understand how it feels like to want to end you life and to sleep forever, I've been through hell this year I still self harm, I tried to kill myself, I had a eating disorder and I lost my mom so listening to citizen Soldier really saved my life
I think they might even save some people by keeping them waiting for their next songs. As you said, many people don't (think they) have anything or anyone keeping them here, and by finding CS they might just get enough time here to find someone like that
I’m a bit late to the video but I just want to say that I understand what you were saying at the first half of the video. I’ve dealt with similar feelings of wanting to stop existing. Citizen Soldier is by far one of the best bands when it comes to understanding people with these thoughts. They quickly became one of my top 5 bands when I started listening to them through Would Anyone Care. My favorite part of that fist song I heard from them was the part that turns around in the end and offers encouraging opposition to the chorus saying this is the night you take back your life.
to SFuture: everyone needs a release, to vent and the feelings you feel are valid... and like jake says in thee song , and that is ok ^^ to jake: if you are reading this thank you. Your songs are inspirational even if you dont feel like it sometimes they are great they have saved me from myself many times and if my saying this can change anything i hope this helps you when you find yourself in your next dark place "the darker the darkness, the brighter the light shines" quote from final fantasy 14 be safe stay well, keep doing what you do!

This is next to "Who I am" my absolute fav song. The Lyrics are so powerful, so strong, so... comforting. They hit right into your heart and you fell heard. Heard by the world that normally always seems to ignore you. I think everyone knows a person who need to hear this song. This song always makes me cry.
