I don't think I've EVER made a comment on RUclips - literally. But I came here just to say that I've now officially adopted "Advencha before Demencha" as my new life motto lmao seriously, thanks for the content! Getting ready to start my first van build and yall's videos are invaluable.
If you thought this was helpful, you'll love our masterclass!! www.vankookz.com/vankookz-van-conversion-masterclass It's also on a huge sale for the holidays!
Thanks for the useful video! A question: what ply thickness did you use here? And i am not sure how did you attach the polywall... did you just put it under the frame without any glue or i missed something?
Yeah I just slide it under the frames. Loosen the screws a bit slide the poly under then sink them back in. There’s tons more info in our masterclass www.vankookz.com
The plumbing will be on the outside of the walls. The electrical shouldn't ever really need to be accessed unless you popped a whole in your wires. I use painters tape to mark where all the wires run behind the walls
Good point! You never know when you're gonna want/need to add or reconfigure things. It looked like there was a ton of wasted space behind the wood to run (and protect) water hoses, only exposing them under the sink. Sooner or later someone will have to go to battle against the Liquid Nails...sure hope its not me! LOL
really nice work, but never understood why all these van builders put facing's on the cabinets and cupboards, you loose space and it makes it harder to install hinges. The cupboards here in my home don't even do this...
What is normal? Is there such a thing? I looked to your channel for a sense of normal but there wasn't anything. Did you realize what the channel is called Van Kookz... look up the definition of a kook and then you will know. This channel will NEVER be normal! But I'm glad we could help out.
Not necessarily. The walls plus framing is about 1 depending on what walls you are using. Most insulation is about 3/4 to 1” thick so it’s all going to need to be covered up. You make the van smaller by 1” on each wall. I don’t see that being an issue.

Since you’re gluing and pin nailing the plywood to the frames, are you concerned about being able to access the wires or plumbing later if needed?

Are you talking about face frames for the cabinets. I feel it’s just standard cabinetry that’s how I was taught to build cabinets.
@@Vankookz yes, face frames.. just omit no?
I want to learn how to build a van
Well just keep on watching the Vankookz videos and we will get you ready
@@Vankookz ok thanks
Leaving voids behind your wall panels is asking for trouble, condensation will build up and rot the wood, cause mould etc!
Not when you have a vapor barrier. Check the insulation video.
@@Vankookz Don't say I didn't warn you!
It’s not a box cutter! It is a utility knife!🤪
Got us…🙈
NICE work! It sounds like you're shouting (man) though and I had a hard time staying tuned in...just talk normal, please.

What a waist of time!
Your design is not space efficient, you make the van smaller with the way you built the walls,
