I used a piece of wood to secure my sliding door. It was provided by a past resident at my apartment. Worked like a charm.
Yeah just a piece of wood is good enough, and dirt cheap. No need to get fancy with sliding doors.
I got the Master Lock security bar, and let's just say it worked out swimmingly!
You should get someone to test it out from the outside to see if it really will keep them out or not.
Actually, it does work. You cannot get in without breaking the entire door down and even then it still holds the door shut. Trust me!! We had a psycho neighbor who more than tested it. It kept him out. These actually do work very well.
