Man, this Planetarium stuff is blowing me away! The orchestral feel is obviously a nod to Gustav Holst's Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, and the references to the Christian God, the Greek God, and his own father bring themselves into such great harmony. What an epic.
I was lucky enough to see Planetarium performed at the Sydney Opera House.
Jupiter was stunningly beautiful.
Sufjan, Bryce & Nico are creating something very special.

This is terrific. Such an effective blending of classical and electronica and his voice is so otherworldly. Wish we could see the other players in action though.

How did you meet him? What I wouldn't give to have a conversation with that man.
I met Sufjan and Nico and asked if they were going to record it. Sufjan's (paraphrased) response: "We have no plans to do so because we're all too busy with other things".
Sad, perhaps, but I do feel there is something special in the rarity of it only being performed several times, never to be experienced-as intended-again, only through low-quality RUclips videos and bootleg audio recordings. Although I say this as someone who was lucky enough to have seen the final performance in Paris...
What were they both like in person? I always imagine Sufjan is super lovely
