  • Planet Hollywood has played an integral part in the history of Disney Springs. Before Disney Springs was even called Disney Springs, this area of Walt Disney World was referred to as Pleasure Island. Planet Hollywood opened alongside Pleasure Island in 1997. After Walt Disney World rebranded this area of its shopping and dining district to Disney Springs the restaurant was refurbished and reopened as the Planet Hollywood Observatory in 2017.
    Before this video, neither of us had been to a Planet Hollywood restaurant in over a decade. For those unfamiliar, this restaurant adorns its walls with memorabilia from iconic Hollywood films. The menu offers up the classic fare that can be found at most novelty restaurants but specializes in burgers and shakes. Guy Fieri even added some of his famous Flavortown flare to the menu.
    While this restaurant is historic, its luster has worn off in recent years. Compared to many newer Disney Springs offerings, such as Boathouse or Wolfgang Puck, many consider this restaurant as one to skip on a Walt Disney World vacation.
    We stopped by to see how Planet Hollywood compares to its competitors and to see whether public opinion has been too harsh on what was formerly a nostalgic fan favorite. After trying their signature eats and even a crazy shake we go over our thoughts on our experience and why Planet Hollywood actually surprised us.

    I love all the little extras that you add to your videos. Like which parking lot is closest and how busy things are. We live in Idaho and only get to WDW about 2 times a year, so these tips really help. Thanks for the GREAT video, you guys are awesome 🎉

    Fun fact the stairs you went up to reach the dining room used to be outside and there was a space ship “crashing” into the planet when you could see the full sphere.

    You might be the only youtuber's who could convince me that we need to go to Planet Hollywood!! This meal experience looks so fun and actually good!!! I love it when Sam responds to Jay's comment on Tom Holland's boxers from Spiderman lol ("I like it!"). I agree kids would really like this. Once again you rocked it!! Thanks for the video :)

      Lisa we totally went in thinking the food was going to be very mediocre- we were SO surprised. I think Tom Holland's boxers are worth a visit LOL Thanks so much for watching.

    I'm having to re watch this because it looks so fresh. I don't think I have ever thought of eating at Planet Hollywood but if you can't get a table at a more preferred I would go for that club. Great Review! Go back for dinner..... Curious

    We first went to WDW when my son was 11. He had dreams of working in Hollywood with Arnold & the action star/owners. He dragged me to Planet Hollywood for years. It was LOUD - but the food and Arnold’s family strudel - was always tasty. Fast forward 30 years - he edited one of Bruce Willis’ last movies!

    The food looks so good. We had the pleasure of visiting Planet Hollywood when it first opened. Disney offered a special and gift of drinking glasses if you booked a package. So fun to get a free gift. Thank you for sharing and bringing back that fun memory.

    I have gone to a lot of Planet Hollywoods over the years, and Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) has definitely got the best location. Great atmosphere, and the food can be quite good. A lot of mediocre stuff, but some of the menu can be delicious. Can't beat the setting, if you are a movie fan.

    • @ThemeParkFoodies
      @ThemeParkFoodies  3 месяца назад

      I agree! This was definitely my favorite. Although I think I've only ever been to one other. I remember never being terribly impressed by the food but I think the Guy Fieri dishes here really shined on this visit. As a movie fan this was a blast 🙂.
