Hey Marcus, Two things. a ball cap on backwards makes the Drone Mask more comfortable. I also wear glasses. I use a $7 Bluetooth mouse from Amazon to access the software, icons and menus without removing the Mark or removing the phone. I fly often with the mask, sometimes inches away. The mouse selects DJI Fly, the drone, icons to fly, adjust the camera etc. Dennis
Interesting product. I can see it being very immersive like FPV, especially flying something like the Air2S or Mavic3 and setting the gimbal FPV mode. Great video thanks for sharing
Wow the intro nearly blew my socks off , I thought the expendables where fly drones now lol …actually I think I would like to try the drone mask ..it would be very handy on bright days and long flight for example down a beach for a extended period of time…anyways another fantastic video as always thanks for sharing 👍
It's about time a company came out with a good quality VR head set for camera drones I use the off the shelf cheepos they work but due to them being bad quality it's not been ideal but these look a much better option
A good honest review Marcus pointing out the good and bad I too where spectacles so I have a similar experience with FPV goggles plus if you have to act quickly with the touch on the screen its going to be a bit of a problem. I think also you need to have a all round view to see what's around you for safety issues when flying a drone.
Thanks for the real world experience as initially I thought I might try to fly again after my stroke but financial things got in the way. My PC got hacked and yesterday my car had electrical problems with a big tow bill. I did enjoy again the vicarious experience though. Keep up the flying as it helps me enjoy life.
Love the intro Marcus - seen this on FaceBook and glad you got to review one - great review - would be very useful here in Spain. Many thanks for sharing the info :)
I wear a vest with large pockets to hold the mouse. I use it against my leg standing. or more often on my thigh as I sit on one of my seat canes. I can send you photos. Your logo makes great coasters!
Interesting idea, and they seem to be well made. But the con of always have to take off, and than put them back on the googles again every time you get a screen alert, that requires you to dismiss it on screen, is just too much of a con for me. Great testing Marcus, you just saved me money again.
Not sure what to think of these. Unique idea and great view with no glare but not being able to access the app controls is a huge concern to me along with the price.
Hi Marcus.....Nice Intro.......This product doesn't quite fit my fashion statement. But it's always nice to see the available products out there. Have a nice day and see you on the next one....😎
Not with a sub 250 drone you don’t. VLOS only applies to over 250 in Canada. Pay careful attention to the wording from Transport Canada. “Should” isn’t a law. It’s a best practice.
@@rockyviewaerials1218 if it was that obvious you would have mentioned it in your original comment. Your comment doesn’t apply to the drone Marcus is flying thus making it incorrect.
Good idea, thanks for the review Marcus. Problem with these in the UK would be that you would need a visual observer with you every time you used them. :-(
I think it will be OK for people watching movies, not flying drones due to what you showed the setup issues, the weight and no fan inside. Problem of the screen blacking out is definitely not fixed as it is a heat related issue and those look like they will allow the phone to overheat faster than if it was in the open. My recomendation (for DJI pilots) is to buy the RC PRo controller. It solved all of my problems.
Interesting video Marcus. That DroneMask has possibilities to work with the Air 2S and the Smart Controller. With the SC you have Zoom control with the right scroll wheel, you could switch between video and camera with the left & right triggers, and you have additional Fn selection with the 4 position joystick. That said I can't see myself going for this just yet. Now get that cataract surgery, it does work. At least for me it has.
Hi Marcus, thank you for the review video. There are two potential issues I see with this device. One problem is that one would need a visual observer based on FAA rules. The second problem is that one can't use any of the app controls as you point out. A better, but more expensive, solution is to use a product like the Epson BT-35e smart glasses. That lets one have vision of the FPV and allow using the phone or tablet controls.
As always, a great video presentation! The product is a bit of a kluge to use, especially when a touch-screen message is involved, notwithstanding the flying safety practices we must all employ. FPV flying is one thing, but that's a whole different kind of flying...and this product doesn't fit that bill. Thanks for sharing.
Marcus.... This was my experience exactly. While I was hoping the DroneMask goggles would be the answer to FPV box style goggles, unfortunately due to my stigmatism, the goggles just didn't work. Good news.... DroneMask refunded the $$$ I spent on the goggles, while I continue to look for a great Box Style goggle for FPV flight.
Marcus... to be honest....they offered a 50% refund or the option to ship back. Rather than go through the hassle of packaging, taking to the P.O. etc...I opted for the 50% refund. I'm sure it will show up on Ebay soon.
Even with decent eyes I’m not sure this is for me. It’s just not “convenient” to use. Also, I have a Smart Controller which avoids some of the heat and blackout issues that iPhones sometimes pop up with. But, good for you to give us a view of the devise. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.👍
This would definitely work with EVO 2 PRO or the 8K. Because you can program, and access most of the functions from the remote, without touching the screen.
Great video Marcus. I asked for a refund from the company for mine. They have to be sent back to Norway which costs more than the mask. They did offer to refund me 50% of the cost immediately and not have to send them back. I may be able to recoup my total cost if I can find someone interested in buying them. Oh - I am blind in my left eye so like you I couldn't see anything on the left side. Frustrating because I was really hoping these would work for me.
Would a person technically need to have a spotter standing next to him since the pilot will not be flying visual line of sight? I think that is the case when a person flies FPV.
Very good demonstration. Showed all the pitfalls--This system wouldn't work for me. Between fumbling around with my glasses and being unable to access the screen controls, and lacking a visual spotter while I myself couldn't see the drone...Nope!
Parrot Anafi has the best pretend FPV mode with giggles & it still makes me a little discombobulated when I've not flown for a while. PS it would be better testing with the DJI mini it as fpv mode also .
Good review Marcus. Looks like the cons outweigh the pros for me on this one! Maybe time for a Tripltek for me! Just not a big android fan though. Thanks for your efforts as always.
I picked up an $8 Bluetooth mouse from Amazon that works fine, but any Bluetooth Mouse or rollerball will work. Just link to your phone then no more unzipping.
Looks like a lot of messing around still I guess if no ones about that can see with with them on it might be ok lol but for now it push comes to shove with sunlight ill use a cover for the remote to save my vanity 😁👍👌🇬🇧
Great product. Its the same as magimask and it is the same price. But you can watch movies and a game MagiWorld. I think it is just rebranded same company.
Hi, just a couple of tips, just got one of these for my 71st birthday. 1. Get a neck lanyard for the controller. It's a third hand, just one of those ah experience, once you have one you ask yourself how did I do without. Thus in this case with the mask, then you have two hands to unzip it and work with the menus if needed. 2. Put the mask into position, I wear glasses also, on to your face over the glasses and then pull the head straps into place. Here again thanks to the lanyard no biggie. Hope this helps, oh and I too have an eye problem different from you, big blind spot in the right one -AMD. Here is a quick one from my first flight. ruclips.net/video/TV931ja5OZ8/видео.html
I say is a little unsafe to wear these, in case someone will want to robb you...and you cant see anything around you..i wont have the courage to wear these..i prefer to can look around me when i fly...so for me is a NO this mask...also not being able to see your controler and more to guess ojn what to press...not good at all.

How about a link Dennis of the mouse you use. Great idea though.

Thank you, Shawn! They are an immersive experience. It's too bad they didn't add some sort of door to access the touch screen though.

It’s a great drone FPV headset. I enjoy using mine from time to time. 👍🏻👍🏻

I agree. This is a high-quality option.
I happen to really enjoy using this when flying my air2s! Definitely a more immersive experience! Great job buddy!
Thank you Matty! I know that you are really enjoying yours.

Oh man, sorry to hear about your PC and car. I hope that you do get to fly again.
I like the bluetooth mouse idea. You may as well be flying FPV, and use a picnic table to fly. Thanks for showing us the drone mask.
I like the concept and it's got me thinking , I'm gonna have to have an observer when I start my fpv journey
Love the intro Marcus - seen this on FaceBook and glad you got to review one - great review - would be very useful here in Spain. Many thanks for sharing the info :)

Ha! Thank you, Ron! They are an interesting idea; they just need a little more work.

Thank you! I like that intro too.
Not sure what to think of these. Unique idea and great view with no glare but not being able to access the app controls is a huge concern to me along with the price.

Looks like a great idea, except you will need a visual observer to be compliant VLOS in Canada. Thanks for the review 👍

Illegal without a spotter? Plus you can't use the screen to alter settings.... Just use a tablet with a sun shade.

Nothing new here, just buy cheap VR goggles does exactly the same thing, just a lens magnifying your phone screen.
That looked like it's very awkward and a pain in the butt. I don't think they would be for me.
