Where did you purchase the bike from? Mine came from Garcia Moto in Raleigh and I gotta say they made me feel like I just bought a Lamborghini it was awesome.
Sorry your experience wasn’t as good, Ducati sends out multiple surveys after you buy a bike from them I’d give them an honest review for sure. 😎😎

Crazy man, I recently picked up a 2018 959 with 2k on the dash 1 previous owner immaculate condition and had a few high end mods I would’ve done to it for sure myself. So I originally went to that Ducati dealer after going to a few different dealers looking to buy either a 2025 636 or an mt-07. Really wanted the r6 again but the latest model since I had an older one and loved it. But when I went to the dealer the first bike on the showroom floor I stopped at was this 959 for some reason and I had no intentions on getting a Ducati or even knew much about them. So I asked about it and the dealer gave me the info on it and the price and I just had to get it. The price was too good compared to the 636 and just a bit more than the mt-07. It was a bit over 10k. So I just took it. However the dealer was very dull and not really helpful. It was basically just like I paid for the bike signed the paper work and he took it out gave me the keys and said bye. Was a very strange experience for a purchase of a vehicle especially at a dealer. Left feeling like ehhh like I wasn’t so excited that I got it. Then I asked him about the electronics on it and about the modes and settings and he knew nothing about it. 😑 like really dude??? I was like whatever and took off. Then riding home I realized the suspension wasn’t setup right for my weight since I’m a skinny guy I’m 120 pounds. So I called and asked about it to see about tuning it up and basically have to make an appointment and pay whatever the cost is which I’ve already made the appointment. But I still think he should’ve helped me out learning the bike and its features and made sure the suspension was ok for me. However after about 2 weeks of owning it I do like it a lot. It has its minor flaws but I do like it a lot. (Btw my bad for the book just wanted to share my experience since it seems similar)

As long as the bike is well mentioned I’d have no problem buying a used Ducati.
If you’re thinking about a used Ducati ask the seller if they bought the extra warranty and if it’s still active.
Also check the mileage. Sometimes people will sell bikes that are almost due for expensive services.
Just some things to be aware of.

Good review. Like someone here said, you certainly know how to describe the bike than any of the dealership staff.
I accompanied a friend to the dealership to check out a used R1M. I had no plans to buy a super bike. A demo 959 was parked outside and it looked so sexy. I test rode it and fell in love instantly. I placed a deposit for a new one immediately.
It’s intoxicating. Puts a smile on my face every time o walk into the garage. Used it only on dry days. 3 seasons and have just 5k miles on it. (I mostly ride my adventure bike). She is a keeper!

Ducati should pay you for this video. You do a way better job selling the 959 than most Ducati sales associates. With most Ducati SA’s you can’t tell if they’ve even been on the bike they are selling.
Anyway, I’m in the market for either a used 899 or 959. Your video really makes me want to get a brand new 959. I wasn’t sure if spending a few more grand on a new one is worth it over a preowned one, but your vid/review makes for an exciting and compelling argument to buy brand new lol.
My only question is how’s the maintenance experience so far?

    • @Paramoto959
      @Paramoto959  6 лет назад +1

I tend to stick to new bikes, just because I’m paranoid about what other owner have done to it before me.
      I guess I don’t trust people 😂😂
My total maintenance cost has been the $180 I spent for the 600K break in service. Everything else has been covered under warranty.
Here’s a link to a video I made about total maintenance costs on my Panigale so far..
      ruclips.net/user/edit?o=U&video_id=e_y5-ckJ9Pc

    • @princevalencia8816
      @princevalencia8816 6 лет назад +1

Yeah, I felt the same way 12 years ago about used bikes. The trust factor is huge. Which is why my first bike was an R6 straight from the dealership. But as time passed and my group of riders grew, I became open to and saw the cost benefits of buying preowned.
But like I said, after watching your video, I’m leaning towards buying a new 959. Just doing more research now, 2019 model etc. I read somewhere that the 959 will be phased out soon. Don’t know what to make of it yet. And I still have to take one out for a ride. I stopped by the dealership a few days ago and haven’t stopped contemplating since. Lol.
Anyway, yeah I just watched that video you linked right after watching this one. I ask the question too soon. Lol. Great content! Keep ‘em comin’! Ride safe! ✌🏻

The book has the Maintenance intervals defined as every 7,500. I’ve honestly spent about the same during maintenance appointments on my Honda. The Desmo services can be expensive though. But They’re every 15k so an average rider probably isn’t going to be do many of those.

I’ve been around on this bike, and the heat issue is a total myth.
I made a video where I rode from Raleigh to Virginia Beach and back in a day. Roughly 437 miles total, which included me getting stuck in stop and go traffic on a black top freeway in 90 degree heat with 80% humidity, and the bike didn’t boil me.

I have one and have rode it cross-country (FL to CA). I wouldn't say the heat is a "myth". It is a thing. Is it bearable? In my opinion, absolutely. However, most people would consider taking a Panigale cross-country unbearable. lol. For me, I LOVE the looks, I LOVE the handling, I LOVE everything about this bike OTHER than the heat and that is an easy thing for me to overlook considering everything else. Every other bike feels like a bigger compromise versus a hotter seat. Have fun shopping and let us know what you end up getting.

Mine is the stock exhaust. And I’m going to keep it stock because it’s already loud enough, and I like to ride without going totally deaf. At times my ears ring when I get off it, with stock pipes.
But there’s three major brands that people buy for this bike, they’re:
      Termignoni
      Arrow
      Akrapovic
They all have their own strengths and weaknesses, but typically I see people decided based on what style they like the most.

Wasn't cheap...Lol! The can was about $800. But the catch with Aprilia's is when you remove the factory muffler you also remove the cat and exhaust valve. So it requires either sending the factory ECU to have it remapped or purchasing an Aprilia (witch I did because I wanted to keep my factory ECU) race ECU for about another $800. So all in all I ended up investing about $1600. Not proud to admit that, but it is what it is...Lol! I'm sure you understand, owning these exotic Italian machines is not cheap.

Because Superbikes are where I get my thrill and I LOVED riding on the edge!!! It was so bad, it was like sugar ant’s going on a Field trip to the Willy Wonka factory! The last bike that I rode was a BMW 1200LT. Still have the 750 Ninja - X= racing bike that nearly took my life and a practically brand new 916 with 6 miles on it. When riding and stopping at a stoplight, my nerves started shaking my leg’s so bad it was like I was just filled with the holy ghost and when the cop behind me didn’t understand what was going on and thought I was on drug’s thing’s got bad fast. I couldn’t even push the stand down and nearly dropped the brand new bike which was a gift to try and get me back to riding as I sat there like that for what seemed to be 8 hours, but was only about 30 minutes. The medic pulled up with another police officer which finally helped me stand the bike. I was shaking so bad I could get off the bike........ Again, they had no clue what in the world was going on. But this reminding thought is why??? You be careful as if I was to tell you about the accident you would be at a loss why I’m still here as I am. Take care,

I wonder if a 5'6 tall person can ride this bike

      Firstly. Fantastic name 😂😂
Yes I think a 5’6 person could ride a taller bike. Expect to be on your tip toes, or you could get used to leaning the bike to one side and holding the bike up with one foot while stopped.

Do you know if 959 Paginale is taller than an R6?

Ducati lists the seat height as 32.48” for the Panigale 959.
Yamaha lists the R6 as 33.5”.
Slightly taller but I feel like the width of the 959 may make it feel slightly taller then a standard 600.

I like it, very partial to unique exhaust set ups. 😎😎

You like the underslung or the stock Ducati shotgun style?
I like the underslung but it's very typical ducati, and much as people don't like the shotgun exhausts I really don't mind the akro system for them!
