Blue Collar Tweekers
The bass player is one Les Claypool and is one of the top 3 or 4 bassists ever.
I would agree.
Ink "74, version of Willy. Wonka.
Primus and Les Claypool suck. Just kidding and everyone that is a true Primus fan knows what I am talking about when we say Primus sucks!
Probably top 2
yeah imo the only bassist that can go against him would be Victor Wooten
The Les Claypool single leg bounce is so iconic they included it in the South Park intro!
Les Claypool was voted top ten best bass players of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. He was number 5. So, he is a pretty good bass player.
"He's really good at bass"
Just wait till you check out Tommy the Cat...
Blue collar tweakers...not two collar.. other than that you should do more cuz these guys are simply amazing. I'm a musician myself had just got to see them about a month ago. F****** great show.. all their greatest hits + the entirety of Rush Farewell to Kings album. Brilliant!!!
Les Claypool is one of a kind & his musicianship is on a whole other level, he does the theme for South Park, yrs ago he auditioned for Metallica & James Hetfield said he was to good for them so tht tells you all you need to know, love all tht u do & kp ROCK’N...
It's "blue collar". This tune is a tribute to the band's hometown of El Sobrante, California, a working class suburb in the San Francisco bay area.
Primus opened for Rush in the early 90’s. It was a night for awesome bass players
I saw Primus open for Janes Addiction in maybe 89ish. Great, great show.
I had the luck to hear that thundering bass once in my life...wow i was engulfed by the sound and...by the audience that was pogoing like crazy.😈
They are seriously strange, but fun
I'm not a musician myself but I would classify Mr Claypool on bass as a top-level musician: Simultaneously playing bass on this level and singing is just crazy
Now you have to react to tommy the cat live in bonaroo
Don't forget the guitarist. Larry Lalonde. Formerly of the band Possessed.
Larry fuckin shreds
& Tim 'Herb' Alexander, was no slouch on drums !
Tim Alexander was in Attention Deficit with Alex Skolnick (Testament) & bassist Michael Manring. Check out the songs 'The Risk of Failure' & 'Dubya.'
Primus is the best band Ever! I am 70 years old and saw all the big ones in the 1960-1975 timeframe, but I would still go to every Primus show.
React to Winona's big brown beaver by primus
Primus is one of my favourites!, Yeah they are different and that's why they rock in my opinion. You should try this one if you can Primus-Over The Electric Grapevine (moshcam live in Australia) Cheers \m/
This drummer is a metronome and what soundZ the rythm section ! Great Sir Travis and beautiful earrings Suzi !
Great choice guys.
Guitarist Larry Lalond (sp?) was a founding member of Possesed..
Les Claypool, what a genius, a master of bass guitar ... oh lord i love him.
Les Claypool is possibly the best bassist I've ever seen the music of Primus is something special so many classic songs Too Many Puppies Wyonas Big Brown Beaver Shake Hands With Beef so many
Les Claypool is and still a good friend with Metallica's Kirk Hammett since high school. Les even audition for Bassist when their original Bassist, Cliff Burton killed; Kirk suggested him to audition. There is a video of him and the guys of Metallica during his audition.
James informed Les that he was too good and do his own thing after that audition.
Love the chorus when chant SLAYER
Hey 👋 guys…you’re right, Primus is a fun band! This concert from Woodstock ‘94 is crazy 😜 Tim “Herb” Alexander on 🥁 drums was soon replaced by Brain who later played in Guns N Roses. I hope 🤞 you react to more Primus, they have so many great 👍 albums. Thx ☀️
I feel like we all watched this together after a big bong hit.
Claypool is THE bassist.
Crowd surfing was so much fun. In my youth when I was a lot lighter I tried it many times. Many times you end up on stage for a brief moment before security ushers you away. My brother did get dropped one time by accident on his head. Funny enough at a Primus concert. He was ok.
That would be Damn blue collar tweakers
@The Wolf HunterZ the song is actually titled "those damn blue-collar tweekers" if you everr feel like updating the title XD enjoy all of your reactions! keep up the great worrk
I was at this festival it was fucking insane. As soon as this show ended I had to book it over to the other stage for NIN which was another crazy mosh pit. If you want to crowd surf just say hey dude give me a lift. Doesn't matter who it is they'll throw you up there.
This was an awesome set at Woodstock. Everyone is covered in mud as this happened after the first rains. At this point it didn't matter anymore, the food sucked, booze was across the seat and all hell broke loose. We were camped that weekend on stage right along a fenced barrier that ran the length of the field leading to the main exit and some side exits. Even though our site was well enforced with tent barriers and ropes and tarps (we still had green grass under us), it was the first set that led to people coming through our site and climbing the fence to go towards stage 1. Primus was the best band I saw that weekend.
First off, subscribed! Now, story time: You do just ask someone to put you up, or just point up, and they’ll get it. My first concert was Butthole Surfers and Stone Temple Pilots, and I was 13. I wanted to mosh and get up front, but I was pretty small. Some guy pointed up, so I thought maybe he was going to pick me up. Nope, into the air, onto the crowd. It was so fun, I was addicted! I crowd surfed constantly at that show. Then at some point they threw someone else up and landed on me, I fell through and cracked my head. It was a concrete park. Some people saw me and took me to the medical station, they wrapped me and I got back to the show. My mom was fucking pissed when she picked me up. 😂😂😂 All good though, been to hundreds of shows since then and never cracked my head again… from crowd surfing.
5:00 crowd surfing is generally initiated by the person doing the surfing. You just turn to someone nearby and ask for a lift - usually done by them cupping their hands together at about knee height where you will put a foot. They begin to lift as you begin to jump off the floor with your other foot. You can grab onto a shoulder or two to help finish the job. As long as the crowd is sufficiently dense, you’ll just get passed around for a while. If you end up all the way to the stage, usually security will give you a hand down and escort you off to the side to go back into the crowd - unless you’re at a smaller venue that doesn’t have a big barrier at the stage, in which case you may find yourself on the stage for a moment - do a little jig and then jump back into the crowd. Congratulations. Now you’ve successfully crowd surfed and stage dived at the same show.
The craziest instance of this that I’ve ever seen was at an Andrew WK show at Slims in San Francisco. There were so many fans that had made it onto the stage that people were crowd surfing on the stage and getting tossed down to the main crowd to continue. Also, a fan had jumped onto Andrew’s back and he was giving him a piggy back ride while he continued to sing.
You will love sliding down the Primus rabbit hole to discover the unique wonders that await.
Also fun fact: guitarist Larry Lalonde was a student of Joe Satriani, who you've also reacted to, and his fellow students include Steve Vai (who you have ALSO also reacted to) and Kirk Hammett of Metallica. Metallica and Primus came out of the same bay area thrash metal scene.
2002 OZZFEST....My bud picked me up during Slipknot. Carried away "555 I'm 666" I get dropped to the ground. Random Hero grabs me and says "No no no. You gotta get up!"
Do more Primus, they are awesome!
From the same venue, check out Les playing Master of Puppets cover. Short and sweeeeeeeet.

The best bass player of all.
Oh shit, I remember being in that pit. Epic.
"He's really good at bass?!"
*_D U H_*
Les has also the best leg game with Chuck Berry and Angus Young.
And if you want crazy stage presence and crowd, check out Fishbone - Fight the youth
The bass line
He’s a classically trained bassist and also a Multiinstrumentalist

Was very Good Friend Of Cliff Burton (Metallica Fame)
You tap the shoulder of the guy in front of you and raise your foot to hand level. He sees that and hoists you up. Then you crowd surf! That is unless you can access the stage. Not possible here. If you can access the atage you just climb on the stage, dive off abd start surfin’!
The correct title is "Those Damn Blue Collar Tweekers"
Do the mud vid at Woodstock

If Les Claypool would've been a bit more relaxed and not taken himself so seriously, I would have been a huge Primus fan.
Not everyone gets this joke 😊
