Black Studies x French Studies Colloquium Recap

Developed and spearheaded by Society of Fellows member A.Véronique Charles PhD, the Afro-Francospheres Colloquium, titled "Black Studies x French Studies," took place at Columbia Global Centers | Paris in April 2025. The program fostered inter-continental research forums and public dialogues about the intellectual histories and lived experiences of Black people across French-language contexts. The Afro-Francospheres Project likewise composes the BlackFranceNoire Collective that includes Carnegie Mellon University’s Center for Black European Studies and the Atlantic, Northeastern University’s Africana Studies Program, and Yale University’s Department of African American Studies.
