You always have the best questions. I loved the one about what they wanted to get across with their acting even if they didn't have a scene being explicit about it. The answers were fantastic and let us know what the actors do as background work for their part.

I saw her in "The Book Thief" Sophie Nelisse was an amazing little actress. Especially for having to research that history and conflict in the world at that time. Point on she nailed it, at such a young age. I loved that movie. Wish she had more roles that really put her on the map.

I met this woman Irena in the early 1990's in Cleveland Ohio at the local Jewish Federation Headquarters. About 10 people from the Cleveland Chapter of the Polish American Congress were invited. She spoke to us for a little over an hour if I remember correctly and it was complete silence as she told her story. It was a total sacrifice on her part to save the lives of these Jewish people who she hid right under the German commandant's nose. Irena was a young Polish Catholic Woman used as a household laborer. I am the only one left from the group that heard and met her. The other men in attendance were all Polish natives who fought for Poland and were in exile after the war. These men has gone through rough times. I had forgotten about this meeting with Pani Irena until I saw a notice on the movie. She and her husband both Polish and survivors of the was and were living in California and the Jewish Welfare people had heard about her and the husband needed a nursing home and they took him in because of Irena's sacrifice and courage to save these Jewish people. I am going to see this movie today and now 30 years later i understand Irena much better. I know of many Poles who hid Jewish people during the war and they were never recognized. I can say one thing is that I am so proud of the Polish blood that flows thru my veins for all the good the Polish people have done thru the years and unfortunately they do not get the credit they deserve. Jan Pawel 's election as pope has awaken their contributions to the entire world.
