am I the only one who couldn't get this to work? no matter what I'd do it'd just fall apart whenever I let go. I don't even see how the loops around the needle even get to the ends of the string
I hope it's not too late...considering it's been 11 months. But I found another tutorial that helped me as well. ruclips.net/user/shortsWSO05kF2T5A?feature=share This one helped me more than this one, but whatever works for you. I'm no professional sewer but I'll try to explain what I did as direct as I can: Put the single string into the hole/eye of the needle first. You have to even out the ends afterwards which means pulling one of the lower strings to be equal to the previously longer string. Make sure both strings are on your palm. You might need to extend your index finger whilst your other fingers closed--like a "karate chop" but pointing. Wrap the string around the bottom of your pinky finger. Once you do that, use your other hand's thumb and index to curve the string to behind the needle. With the two open ends of the string, you can smooth those out with your fingers or licking it (sounds disgusting but it does it) in order to stick them together. You lift those same strings that you just smoothed out and place it in between the fingers (thumb and index) that you're holding the needle's eye to. Lastly, with the string underneath your pinky, you want to do an overhand wrap at least 3 to 4 times. Once you've done that, you can pull in those wraps, but don't let go until you've reached the end of the string. Give it a little tug on the knot so it's not too loose. I didn't do that last time and my knots were messy. + This works for both right/left hands. I have used a suture needle and it works the same. I recommend doing the straight needles first since they are easier to practice with. Good luck.
This is the easiest tutorial for this on here! I had gotten so frustrated not being able to get a darn knot (no pun intended) tied, and then I found this video. Thank you!!!
Thanks! You saved me! My art teacher gave us homework, and he told us to sew. After watching this short, i finally know how to tie the knot thank you so much😊 13 year old here
Make sure you are holding the end of the thread in your fingers before you hold the end of the needle, then you are holding a big loop and you wrap the top of the loop of thread around the needle. This was not clear at the beginning and drove me nuts
WWOOW AWESOME VIDEO, i do not know the explanation behind it or understood when watching but i just did exactly as the video demonstrated and it WORKED! Thank you so much !!
For those who need another method, I loop the end of the string around the first joint of my first finger, maybe about 3 rounds.. Then use my thumb to roll the ring of string to the tip of my first finger.. It should get tangled, then just pull on the end of the string and it will have a knot. Not sure if I explained this clearly 😅
that's how i learned it. works maybe half the time. for some reason i just can't always get knots like this to work on purpose and just tie an overhand knot now. but i get plenty of knots from tangles just sewing normally 🤪 lol
This is AWSOME we were JUST talking about this in my sewing class today and one of my classmates/fellow sewers, figured it out, FIRST TRY WITH NOOOO VIDEO and just from my teacher DESCRIBING IT! Lol anyway all I am saying is you guys should try this because it is VERY EASY.❤❤😂😂😂😂
TYSM for this, my Bendy plushie's arm was falling off and I was upset but I remembered I have a sewing kit but I didn't know how to tie the thread, this is so helpful
Everyone: check out the super easy way to knot a thread Me: check out the hardest way to knot a thread Everyone please don't think I am saying about this , sewing parts online your content is amazing!!
this is really great! I've been struggling with tying knots for literal years and didn't think to search up a real tutorial until now. will this also work using only one end of thread? I've found that using thread like this uses up nearly twice as much.
This saved my life, thank you so much I’m just a girl who’s constantly fighting for her godamn life and none of these other bitchass tutorials wanna explain to me how to tie the knot
I still can't figure this out lol if she did it in one clip instead of 4 or 5 might help cause where it cuts there's something I'm missing where she pulls th😅e knot maybe I'm threading the needle wrong but It doesn't show that this is only my second attempt the first time I sewed was few yrs ago so I do not how to setup yout thread an the start an stop this isn't helping but thank
How was that supposed to be easy the thread would have fell off the needle 10 times if that was me all you have to do is just find flat surface lay your needle with thread and it down make an o and then pull it through the o and then you have a knot and then you can start sewing cuz that's something that you need a master they say it's easy until you go and try it and you realize that you didn't master it
I used to fail at it all the time until I realized I was holding thread in the wrong direction. It's hard to explain in a comment, but keep trying! You'll find what works for you 😊
It's one of those things you will need to practice doing. Make sure your thread is doubled. It does work. My mother taught me to do it this way. It took me several tries before I got it right.
Thank you! I’m starting to sew and I was a bit confused at first, but then I figured it out, not time consuming and very delicately explained, thank you!
A HUGE THANK YOU 😊 attempting to repair shirt 👔 collars using INVISIBLE 🫥 EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH 🪡 Adding interfacing, repairing tear, sewing 🪡 closed it closed, then flipping the collar.
Literally the easiest tutorial and I’m so happy because I’ve always struggled with knotting threads 😭😭 now I can finally make a plushie of my favorite character :33 (also I found out it still works if you wanna double knot with no problems!)
You just helped a 24 yesr old man fix some pants that would have normally have been unwearable. Thank you
You're welcome!
Haha 21 year old here, just also fixed my pants thanks to you! @sewingpartsonline

@@FetusFightI love ur cat 🐈
Hah I am not even born yet thanks to you now I can use this info if I can't get outta my mom
I needed this. I'm going to try to sew snaps on a barbie dress. It was sewn into original doll so I had to cut it off.
Lol I'm still going to try this, just haven't had time... Well I have, just not the ambition lol
am I the only one who couldn't get this to work? no matter what I'd do it'd just fall apart whenever I let go. I don't even see how the loops around the needle even get to the ends of the string
I think you wraping the other string, hold the other one( not the one close to the needle) and then do what she said. I am pretty sure it will work.
I don't get it either
I got it the first time 😅
But I watched the video on 0,25 speed, that helped a lot!
Fr this ain't working
I watched over what seemed like an endless amount of tutorials. FINALLY, I CAN DO MY ASSIGNMENT PROPERLY. THANK YOU.
I have a hard time doing it 💀

Thank you for helping a 9 years old girl to make the dress of the barbie much thankyou

Me missing three second step and working on this for five minutes 💀:
me fr
I usually wrap it around my finger then make the knot
How did the tread get on the top? It didn’t show that part
Lol I had to watch a other video that didn't cut it out.
From the other end of the needle you can pull the thread through.
I must be an idiot cause I can't do this.
I’ve always wrapped it around mt finger as my mom taught me
Thanks! You saved me! My art teacher gave us homework, and he told us to sew. After watching this short, i finally know how to tie the knot thank you so much😊

Time to make some fnaf plushies and not spend like 30 bucks on something i found a tutorial and template to for free
TYSM for this, my Bendy plushie's arm was falling off and I was upset but I remembered I have a sewing kit but I didn't know how to tie the thread, this is so helpful
Thanks you helped me so much i was making a plush of my character. ❤
Everyone: check out the super easy way to knot a thread
Me: check out the hardest way to knot a thread
Everyone please don't think I am saying about this , sewing parts online your content is amazing!!
Tailors do this much quicker and with one hand.
You basically use your finger instead of the needle and takes no more than 2 seconds.
this is really great!
I just wrap the thread twice around my index finger and then roll it with my thumb, and pull. Easy peasy!
I don't get it.
What if that knot pulls through the fabric? Or am I just pulling my needle too hard in the beginning?
Didn’t work for me. Tried several times.
2nd failed video for me. I’m continuing my search
I'm dumb, I made a circle. Am I not supposed to have made a circle with the thread? :"-[

I'm 73 years old. Why have I not known this? Well, I'm a guy, so there's that!
😮😮😮 I DID IT😊
but how do you knot a single thread when you dont need a doble thread to stitch?
wow it looked harder than it is I love it it's like a magic trick
How come I always fail at this
I used to fail at it all the time until I realized I was holding thread in the wrong direction. It's hard to explain in a comment, but keep trying! You'll find what works for you 😊
Don’t get wtf she says to pull the whole thing just comes undone, I’ll just tie it the real way
This method is more difficult than the way I have tied a knot at the end for 55 years!
You just helped a 39 year old man fix a stich for his gitch!
Thank you for this video. I just fixed a button on my pants ❤
Omg i can fix a pair of my moms pants now!
Thank you so much this actually helped alot!
Yay!!
why would you do a camera cut at the most important part?.... bad editing
Took a few trys (as I'm a beginner), but I did it!!
It didn't work :(

Thank you soo much! I've always wanted to sew.
It just shows the loop not how you got it like that. From the left or right?
It helped me so much and was the easiest i have seen ,And it worked like magic!
My knot is not big enough as it goes right through the hole
Thank you so much. This is a life saver trick ❤
😮 Wow, I really never know. Thank you so much. I'm subscribing
There is something I’m not seeing. This just doesn’t work.
Thank you now i know how to fix grade 7 dress making thingy
I can’t comprehend this. Or this a cap. you’re just telling me to twist or twirl the same price of string. this is not a knot smh 🤦
It works fine, I just tried it. Try pausing the video and making sure you got the steps right.
I can hold the thread with my hand and tie it just fine.😮 thiso this is harder for me
Some find that it takes some practice. As long as we get a knot, right? :)
As a child learning to sew-
It took me a few trys but I got it!
Tyy
You got this! Keep going 💪
I'm going to try too!
You sound like carol from phone losers of America prank calls
Instructions unclear, burned down my house.
Omg I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it. Once I tried I’m like “no way this is gonna work” but it did gosh
