I suspect the "animal drumming" of Pau was more habit than anything. She started her lessons so young (around 7 years old) that she _needed_ to do that so simply strike the drums with enough force to make a substantial sound. As she got older and physically bigger, it took a bit of time for her to adjust. At the point this video was shot, she was still in that kind of "in between" stage, and not entirely certain of how she needed to pound the beat. But, like a lot of younger drummers, she figured "More ain't never worse" and just blasted the hell out of them. And she wasn't wrong, really. Eventually, she learned to modulate the effort a tad... but not at the time this was filmed. And it's fantastic to listen too/look at. It may not be "correct" from a precision drummer perspective, but it's all that and a bag of chips from us fans of the band. Bang on, Pau!! Bang on!!!

Like others have said, Pau's style has changed and matured. She's learned to be more efficient - the wild swinging is no doubt entertaining, but you don't see the great technical players doing that. It's just maturity. Plus, as she said in the recent Digital Tour Bus gear rundown, she switched from 5A sticks to the heavier 5B because she's a "hard hitter." That's not to say she's lost any of her entertaining aspect - quite the opposite really, as now she is more theatrical and dramatic than ever, and even more fun to watch if that's possible.

Agreed - she's never not been a ball to watch!
North Texas, huh. I'm in Deep East Texas and the coldest it got was 14. Love this video. They are always professional.
I think my elevation is a bit higher. Deep East Texas would put you near Louisiana I think, or maybe even further down the coast. Still - 14 is cold!
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks About 45 minutes from Louisiana. Two hours north of both Houston and Beaumont.
@@texadan314 Nice. I spent some time in Galveston this summer and have some relatives at lake Conroe just north of Houston. Used to live in Dallas and went canoeing on some lake across the border in LA, but I can't remember which one.
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Probably Toledo Bend. I haven't been there. But I am almost on top of Sam Rayburn. My mom actually has the lake as her front yard.
This music video will be held as a true classic as The Warning become one of the most popular bands in rock history.
I suggest you react to Angelina Jordan's version of "I Put a Spell On You". I believe it is the most shockingly good music video on RUclips. Would love to get your opinion. The video only has 11 million views, likely because Angelina puts a spell on those who watch it.
Thanks for the request - I've seen a couple of her videos, but not that one.
You are the most subtlest super fan I've ever seen on RUclips. 😄
Haha, thanks... I think!
