Guys, an idea for the next TW series; Digital Tour Bus has recently released videos on each of the girls rig run downs. I think they would make for great reactions from fellow musicians!
Day 1 petition you guys to do Digtal tour bus newly released uploads of each of the girls rig rundowns . We want to see you do each girls rig rundown reaction and discussion
AWESOME observations about Ale's technique - she plays, as I've always pointed out (as a bassist myself), with textbook ideal technique. She's blessed with long fingers which helps tremendously, but it's also her training and her own apparent drive to do things as perfectly as possible. Not to mention raw talent and being very picky about tone and every sound that comes out of the instrument.
The Warning has always been very keen about writing and arranging a song to be sonically full and harmonically interesting, all with the intention of being able to perform it live without losing that sonic essence of the song. They use tracks live at times to add some sound effects and atmospheric elements. Rush used to do this a lot.
I think XXI Century Blood would have been a big hit in about 1980. The guitar solo for this song is my favorite by Dany. Sadly they have to drop songs from their live set to make room for new ones because somehow at the age of 19, 21, and 23, they have enough _really good_ songs to do a three our show. ⚡🦋⚡
I think Dany's use of single note lead guitar lines used in place of your typical chordal rhythm guitar parts for the verses is really unique to her writing style and creates such a unique melodic bed to the rhythm track. Not to mention how difficult it is to do that while singing at the same time. She's been doing that pretty much since nearly the beginning, and it really helps to broaden their sound, especially for a trio. This is something that many viewers fail to notice. Not many well known accomplished guitar players do this, especially if they are also the primary lead singer as well. Dany deserves a lot more recognition. I notice that a majority of reactors are always praising Pau for everything. Secondly, Ale.
That is a big stretch - she's good alright, and will be one of the greats in the future,at the moment though, she's definitely better than most, but there are female bassists out there like Kinga Głyk and Juna Serita who are leagues ahead of both Ale and those famous bassists you mentioned...that's a fact. I've been following The Warning since 2014,and seen their progression - they are headed to being the "IT" band,as their talent for singing, songwriting and their musicianship is well beyond most. But I also listen to a lot of other music to keep my perspective straight,so that's why I've got to disagree with you here. We're all fans, but there's always someone out there who you've probably not heard of who's a better musician.
@robhaunui3343 Totally agree with your last line. Eruca Sativa is arguably a better power trio than The Warning. And, that's why I said "I put her", not "she's definitely up there with". It's just my opinion, not stating it as a fact.
@@robhaunui3343 Everything is just an opinion anyways because put 100 people in a room play a bunch of songs from different artists and you will probably get 100 different answers about who you liked more and why. I will say that in my opinion no other band has the vocals that DPA have.
Speaking of Ale's pinky stretch, what makes this more impressive is that she plays with what I'm told is high action, which if I'm remembering this correctly means the strings are further from the fret board than usual. TWA bass players can confirm this and perhaps explain better.
@@Amaranthine1000Yeah that looks ugly/weird when she does it and it both thumbs actually, I saw a picture of video were she had both thumbs twisted back.😮!
That was Awesome! I had never seen this song played live. The music video is obviously fantastic, but it distracts one (a little) from the music because you’re too mesmerized trying to figure out what is going on in the story! This live show gives you the opportunity to see what they are doing as they play (such as Ale’s pinky stretch and that great guitar solo!). They should bring this one back to their current shows!
*XXI Century Blood (sorta) Fun Fact:* Earlier in 2023 (May). The Warning played a month of US dates before heading for their first European tour. They did a thing called *"The Jar Song".* They put song titles in a jar they used to play regularly. Since they started to play *More* live. Those songs *More" went into the jar. The Warning allowed an audience (mainly little kids, reached & grab a piece of paper with a song title. That's the sonng they played. Dany kept on saying there's one song in that they haven't played in years live. That song was finally picked few days before the end if the US leg. That song was *XXI Century Blood.* They haven't played it since 2020. It sounded better than at Dokata Bar. And that was from a cellphone. But the one from the Whiskey (2020 ??) was the best version. More mature playing. Unfortunately, they don't play *XXI Century Blood* not much anymore. With their new album coming out. Songs on *XXI Century Blood* album will probably off the setlist. And be put in a jar if they bring that back.
Fun fact each show , the jar was full of the same song . They already knew what song was going to be played and they even rehearsed it at soundcheck . Sorry to burst your bubble
I don't believe that, I seen one where the person accidentally pulled 2 and weren't the same. When I seen them they actually had a short conversation before playing hunter and Dany forgot a few lyrics (Pau saved her) definitely not planned or rehearsed. That wouldn't make sense if they are set on a song they are in control of there set list and have no reason to lie to there fans.
@@hardknox1917 all the songs that they had in the jar were songs they had been playing on tour for the past year, not every show but they were all well rehearsed so they did not need to control the song selection. the only song that they had not played live in years was xxi century blood. If they knew the songs well enough then there would be no need for deception. I would expect them to play the songs in the jar at soundchecks to refresh their memory and it's not hard to believe that they might by chance play a song that would be selected that night as there were only 6 diff songs in the Jar You only have 3 soundchecks out of 15 shows that used the Jar, so your assumption does not make it a true fact, and we have another fan below saying he was at a show where they pulled out 2 papers with 2 diff songs so that kind of kills you assumption.
Just an all around good song. The video is great but i definitely appreciate the live version. Love the old vids in the small venues, its really raw and watching the girls before the bigger shows about to grow up into a major thing is always fun.
Great reaction as always, guys. Thank you. @RandyTWA's suggestion is good, I hope you can do it (Digital Tour Bus has recently released videos on each of the girls...).
It was awesome, they recently performed this song live in Mexico, right before their latest song, that hasn't been officially released. To me, it seemed like a statement, the young The Warning, and the new The Warning today!
Thanks for featuring the girls. I noticed y'all haven't review "survive " the most girly rock song that everyone loves. Including myself. It's on my playlist
I actually kind of prefer Ale's earlier stage playing movement style (which she still shows here) rather than her current more simplified moves - the older moves show "that awkward grace" of being a "teen of a certain age"... a kind of "knowing innocence" all at once...
You suggest Ale is choreographed, I suggest she is more refined and graceful. It’s more likely that as their music progressed so did Ale’s responsibilities on stage which may have changed her movement pattern. It’s also likely as Ale transitioned from pre-teen to teen and then into late teen/young adult that her understanding of her public image changed and how she sees herself and what she’s now comfortable with.

The Warning would be shown daily on MTV if it still played music.
I use my pinky to fret strings when playing bass.

Great hard hitting song! Greet message! GREAT band!💪🏼❤️🤟🏼
What a killer guitar riff. That had to be tough to play and sing. Such experts!
Still one of their best compositions for me .

Those of us who were at the 2023 headlining show in Baltimore had the pleasure of seeing them play this live for the first time in 3 years.
I was very happy when it got pulled out the jar.
They pulled out When I'm Alone when I saw them in Charlotte. One of my favorite songs!
@@bobbarber2070 I was hoping for that one. When I’m Alone is my favorite song.

I put Ale up with Chris Squire, John Paul Jones and John Entwistle.
She'll get there.
