Man, I wish I got to meet you this passed Saturday. I was in Robs group out on the sisters. The motorcycle rally really turns the sisters into a parking lot.
thank you Cuban Rider for doing that, now I don't have to!!...been about 10 years since I rode there, some good twisties near town if you know where to find them...Northern New Mexico where I live now es mucho mejor para la moto... saludos amigo y buena suerte...
I did some good riding in NM, around Cloudcroft and Gila National Forest. I also drove some really nice mountain road east of Albuquerque when I had the C7 Corvette. But yeah, this area doesn't have much going on. Lime Creek and 2222 are heavily patrolled; I have some decent twisties a little north, but the pavement quality is crap compared to what you find in other areas.
I live in Victoria, BC, Canada, and we ride all year here. I personally rode 23 days in November and have put 8000 km on my bike since I bought it in the end of October.
As an XR owner, keeping a 1000cc bike in the speed limit is almost impossible. You did pretty good, with only minor lapses in throttle control/restraint.
A somewhat irrelevant question: what are your thoughts on sporty / livley riding and TCS? I have noticed you always have it enabled whearas I prefer to switch if off for full throttle control. Cheers!
I keep it on dynamic pro, it allows a bit of slip here and there and allows wheelies. It's the least intrusive of the riding modes, it doesn't really interfere with my riding and has saved me from a big slide a few times over the years.
I wish. Even the base bike is going to be around $25k which is a good amount of change. The S1000R was $17k, so nearly $10k cheaper. I'll hold on to the naked for a year or two until the prices on the M XR become reasonable, then maybe.
Cuban is so polite with the bad drivers and pedestrians, I like it 🤣
More please, nice video.
Every now and then the racer comes out to play ! Great video i love these.
Totally miss Texas watching this! Thanks for posting!
Thanks for the tour of Austin. I have never been although my husband has and he really liked it.
It's about an hour south of me. I really enjoy going down there, but the traffic is usually not welcoming.
@@CubanRiderI didn’t realize what a big city it is

I heard. We'll link up some other time!
Everything is Big in Texas. Nice riding Cuban! You MUST be missing them Twisties!
You know it, missing them terribly.
*Very cool Channel my man! Looking at your videos I have to make my out to meet the Dragon this season!*
Can't wait to make the trip! You're actually closer to it than me 😳
@@CubanRider Do you ride there or rent a bike? I was looking at RidersShare but theres nothing in the area really..

I just can’t believe you’re riding in February!!!
It was over 90 degrees yesterday. Texas and the heat is getting out of hand.

I love night riding on well lit city streets
Austin is not the most well-lit, which is challenging to record night video, but the lower light pollution is a benefit no doubt.
When are you riding next? Let’s ride some time! Be safe!
A buddy and I plan to do 3 sisters on the weekend of the 23rd, weather is looking good so far.

It's hard to be responsible with all that power on tap 😄

@CubanRider
Have u seen the new BMW M 1000 XR ? How fast are you going to trade your new bike for it, looks amazing the new BMW M XR :D

What do you think? 2023 S1000r or 2024 1390 Super Duke?
It looks boring as hell to live there brother, did you ever consider moving to other places where you have good streets like the dragon?
We're considering it, hoping for the interest rates to cool down some. We'll see.
Do you miss the XR?
For this kind of riding, absolutely. The ride to downtown and back (I live an hour+ away) was brutal since the road is mostly highly.
But I still have the XR I crashed last year, just finished putting it together so I need to take it through safety and renew the insurance.
@@CubanRider Oh, good to hear you kept it. Feels like the XR is part of your personality :))
