During Sheikh Hasina's reign Bangladesh was one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Art and culture excelled too. The only major problem towards the last few years had been the growing corruption by the government officials. Yet, Bangladesh's gdp per capita was on the rise and at one point it was even better than India just a few years back. Let's hope the next government in power keeps continuing the progress of the country and also keeps the minorities safe.

Bangladesh's garments industry grew substantially as exports went up to a level never seen before. This brought income for Bangladesh. Also, Bangladeshi nationals living abroad seem to have increased which means remittance being sent to Bangladesh, which propped up the economy nicely. These two factors esp. the export industry rapidly transformed Bangladesh economically. She just happens to reign during these good times, doesn't mean she had anything to do with this as corruption in the last decade in Bangladesh seems to be at an all time high.

During the peaceful protests, protesters were beaten and brutalized by the student wing of the 'Awami League', injuring a lot of students (this information was even shamelessly boasted by Obaidul Quader, a minister, on live TV) but the students remained peaceful, but vigilant. Later along the timeline, shots were fired on them by the police, killing quite a few protesters and that is when everything got out of hands, which led to this.
Even if the country is unstable now, maybe slowly but eventually it will stand up. There are still a few illiterate rioters and looters roaming the streets, trying to disrupt the peace and escalate the situation, but we stand strong and will keep standing together until peace is attained amongst all.
Side Note:
The minority now is not the Christians, the Hindus, or the Muslims, but minority is the few 'socially illiterate rioters', who are trying to divide us. We are the general people (no matter the religion, we stood together and will keep standing together). We will continue to defend our society, our rights and protect everyone who is being harassed.

During Sheikh Hasina's reign Bangladesh was one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Art and culture excelled too. The only major problem towards the last few years had been the growing corruption by the government officials. Yet, Bangladesh's gdp per capita was on the rise and at one point it was even better than India just a few years back. Let's hope the next government in power keeps continuing the progress of the country and also keeps the minorities safe.
Sheikh Hasina was in power during the most transformative economic years for Bangladesh, but she did not do anything personally. Bangladesh's garments industry grew substantially as exports went up to a level never seen before. This brought income for Bangladesh. Also, Bangladeshi nationals living abroad seem to have increased which means remittance being sent to Bangladesh, which propped up the economy nicely. These two factors esp. the export industry rapidly transformed Bangladesh economically. She just happens to reign during these good times, doesn't mean she had anything to do with this as corruption in the last decade in Bangladesh seems to be at an all time high.

The garments industry has been in development in bangladesh even prior to indopendence. Then why did it take off to be so succesful only during her years in power? The videos are indicative of what is to come. She might have had dogs in her party, but theu kept the worsw dogs hungry and out of power.
