One thing you always gotta do, is trust evil alligned party members when they warn you about someone. They may be chill with you, but they don't like competition.
When the evil party member warns you about someone, they either know that person personally, or game recognizes game. In either case, its wise to listen.
just be really careful is the BBEG is persuasive. Like yeah the sawn of Bhaal might be a great common enemy, dragon need slain, but that litch might just have something Mr. Lawful Evil wants more than he cares about the rest of you.

Then one of the players was secretly evil (my table is cool with that kind of thing) but died halfway through and was trying to become a lich. Everything he did came to light afterwards so they basically just dumped his body out where a cosmic horror could find it. Needless to say, he made a comeback.

I did once play a character who hated dogs. He was a druid who considered dogs to be a monument to man's need to control nature. He still didn't want to kill them.

Just remember, dogs eat poop. So probably the Druid see that as counter intuitive to his job. Can't spread fertilisers to plant anything if the earth constantly gets dug by those dang dogs who chaotically love poop and poopy smells.

I killed the team dog we got from a town at level 1 the party was so close to killing em but I barely rolled good enough to survive and the dog was revealed to be a great god of evil and was impressed by my perception and gave me a special ability making 19 a nat 20 good deal and I was a wizard

Reminds me of Belkar from Order of the Stick. He's chaotic evil, but he's also unconventionally wise to the point that the party always regrets when they don't listen to him when he gets really insistent about something. If he casually suggests murdering somebody, ignore him. But if he repeatedly brings it up more than twice about the SAME PERSON, he's probably on to something.
@@leyruahey, this video made me think of Belkar too! And Roy's explanation as to why he keeps him in the party: damage control. As long as he's with Roy, he can keep an eye on him and stop him from doing anything too heinous. Belkar's character arc is also probably my favorite out of all the characters in the series.
