i was hoping to buy an 1988 cabrio off of my friend for my first car, would that be a good idea? it’s a 5 speed manual and i live in a small town in alaska so it’s hard to come across cars as beautiful as this one, it’s like exactly my type of looks and i was looking to get something with project car abilities.
I feel like I owe all of you an update! Haha The VW sadly has had no further updates. Life hit and I’ve started a family. I’d love to have some follow up videos, I’ve just been so busy. Maybe one day!
My cousin is selling his 91 cabriolet maroon, it's nice to see follow up videos!, I wanna learn how to change the top, I did my top on my Miata doing a DIY on RUclips, it came out perfect! Anyways this cabriolet had been in the family and I wanna keep it that way
@@PrincePisces that’s a great idea actually. Since I’ve posted this video I’ve done probably 50 convertible tops at work. I’d love to post tutorials for things like that from a professional installer’s pov instead of most of the home DIY stuff. I do it for a living now!
@@RaceRoszell there you are man just get a GoPro and attach it to yourself, unfortunately I sold my Miata and got a pick up for work and the cabriolet is still in the family but I don’t own it. (They Backed out)
Hey man not sure if youre going to answer or not but what coilovers are you running? Aswell as where did you get the drop plates? I want to make my cabrio lower than it is but cant find any coils that go lower
I don’t check this account much anymore, but I got this notification at the perfect time! These coilovers were eBay coilovers with the bump stops and smaller springs removed. They didn’t ride very good at all, but the main issue with lowering these cars isn’t the coilovers as much as it is the front axle. Your frame will sit on the left axle and break it. In order to get it clear, you’ll need to notch the frame enough for the axle to clear. I actually still have the drop plates and I’d be willing to sell them. You can message me on Instagram at @race_roszell. They will add about an Inch to the rear width, so your wheels will need to account for that, just so you know!
