- Oh man!!!! This was a welcome surpise... WOAH...
We're excited to react to the brand new TEASTER to Avatar: The Last Airbender, a new live action adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon animated series ATLA.
This looks very interesting and we're so excited to see the live action take on this incredible series!! What did you think? Sokka, Momo, Aang, Katara, Iroh and Zuko all looked very good, and Azula and the Firelord were welcome surprises!

You know when someone is a real fan of the original show if they:
- Recognize Sozin's comet.
- Deduce that it's the airtemple, also because that happened during Sozin's comet.
- Recognize Omashu (instead of Ba Sing Se, which looks totally different, and is not shown until book 2).
- Recognize Crescent island, and that the gang went there during the solstice.
- Recognize the burnt forest from the Hei Bai episode.
And aang dropping down seeing the forest burned before he meets hei bai and not seeing his people dead
I've been amazed that so many reactors say Ba Sing Se instead of Omashu. I guess it's just a more memorable name for more causal fans.

At least Azula looks like someone’s little sister and not like in the animated series where her and Zuko looked the same age
I’m just happy they basically NAILED the rest of the characters
She was my favorite casting of them all. I think they might do something different with her, and have the actress deliver a less crazy, more low key evil performance, which is how Azula started, before she went crazy in the latter half of book 3. Again, she looks the most interesting, cause she’s the most different.
Aang looks overall perfect
If you want more people to watch animation, do realistic CG animated movies and shows, instead of 2D, and for games, cut together a movie from the cutscenes, that people can watch without any gameplay, also as realistic as possible. I can’t wait till you can make movies fully CG, and people can’t tell they’re not real actors, even if real actors were used for mo cap and face cap.
Gordon looks so cute with a shaved head, it's like a baby shaolin monk I want to hug him and never let go.
Honestly the bar is set so low by M Nights movie that every little thing excited me about this lol. Like, "Omg bending!! It looks like bending!!!"... The bar is set so low that if they at least pronounce Avatar and Aang and Sokka... and Iroh... right I'm already happy lol
With the huge W Netflix got for One Piece live action, this teaser gives me hope for Avatar.
Visually it looks stunning! can't wait for the official trailer and yes I would watch a reaction series to this in February.
They might play a little more on the Zutara thing, since Katara really looks so much older than Aang in this. And Azula, from that quick shot of her, low key looks like she’s gonna steel the show, even if she won’t act crazy and over the top like Azula, I’d love them to do something different with her, probably not that much before book 2 though, where we’ll also get to see Toph of course, who I’m the most excited for of all.
Wanna go penguin sledding with me should have been the line Aang said in this trailer and it would have been perfect.
I will be watching all the reactions for this. This looks incredible. I'm really hoping they also hit the comedy aspect of the show too.

While I'm not 100% sure how I feel about the live action series, but I can only hope that it's better than the live action film we had. But I love the new cast of these characters, especially Iroh and Ozai. I hope we get to see Avatar Kyoshi and Avatar Roku and how they'll handle Aang's first meeting with Roku. I also love how they remade the og theme just for this trailer. And in a way, I also hope we get to see the Agni Kai between Zuko and Zhao

Kyoshi has been casted, so she's in it. Roku as well.
Let's be real here, being better than the film is not that high of a bar to clear. lol

Let’s be really really real here for a minute…if the series was an animated piece of turd being shown for 8-10 episodes. It would be better than the film.
I will say that I do have hope after watching the cast be interviewed, you can see how each of them really connect, love the show and embody their characters. (Also they even mention how they see katara as their mum on set too - it's a very nice dynamic.) My worry is in the writers and producers, definitely need to see some dialogue :)
Oh my gosh you are so right with just needing that goofy line from Aang to completely sell me! I think It would of been cool to add the scene on Kyoshi Island when Aang is proving he’s an Airbender with his marble trick “now… check this out”
But over all it looks incredible, I cried when I watched the trailer 😅
they did also release a poster with appa's face which i think it looks good as you can get it. i rewatched the last airbender movie trailer and this, this trailer beats that trailer by a long shot. we also see aang in this trailer smiling

I really liked it and i am optimistic that netflix can have back to back successes with this and one piece.

As long as the kung fu fight choreography is good the rest can suck and I wouldn't even care, but looks like everything looks great so that's a plus, I'm already in.
They changed the POV from Katara to Iro. which would make sense to be a more adult and darker version. and it establishes Zuko's back story thru showing and not just exposition which we had in the OG series. we see Azula, and Ozi, we see the Agni Kai where Zuko gets his scar. which we did not get until way latter in the series. So we may get to see from the start what happened rather than waiting till season 3 to get the info as flashback of Zuko. like where Zuko and Iro go the the eastern Air temple just after Zuko's banishment. at least at the start. So its not an Episode by episode remake. but more of a Chronological ordering. Thus they can skip some og episodes like the "great Divide" which never did move the plot along. it was just a filler episode.
We get that info of zukos past in the first season, also we could see azula sitting next to iroh and zhao during the agni kai duel
I hope they keep Aang silly too but not too much because Aang also does have serious moments. Im more worried about Sokka and if he's going to be the Overprotective serious brother turned lovably Goofball and if he can still be serious when the time comes.

The movie hurt us so much that we really cared about Sokka's personality. 😅
@@nerdymarriedcouple The comedy is going to be the most challenging thing to translate and I really hope they nail it. Comedy for animation is different than live action comedy and the same visual and auditory gags won't work in the new medium without some change.

Oh yes, new Avatar The Last Airbender Netflix series will be good and incredible in 2024 just like the original show, I can't wait to see new live action series not 2010 movie next year. Avatar The Last Airbender 2024 is way much better than The Last Airbender movie 2010 I'm so glad.....😄😁
Do you think the live action Halo series was better than the live Uncharted movie and live action Last of Us series?
I’m not sure if you guys are into One Piece or anime, but I think it’ll be like a Netflix live-action One Piece thing. Where it’ll be pretty good with how they touch the main story/character beats and stay true to its spirits. It’s not perfect, and I had a few nitpicks, but it’s a pretty solid live-action adaptation of the anime as a whole. That’s how I feel about this one based on that and the teaser so far. But we’ll see. Crossing my fingers they do ATLA justice and capture the spirits of it.
I honestly think this will be better than one piece tbh
@@nickramos6745it should be one piece is like the 1 anime adaptation that should’ve failed because of how absurd and goofy the manga is so if that can succeed this should be able too

The only good thing about the film was James Newton Howard's soundtrack. Flow Like Water I still listen to this day. I hope they incorporate that theme in this series but I know its a low chance.
There is no Last Airbender Movie in Ba Sing Se
Or it could go the way of One Piece, be loved by fans and non fans alike.
