We actually have 8 Wave 1 dolls. Five of the regular dolls, Toralei who is a Walmart exclusive, Deuce who is an Amazon exclusive, and Ghoulia who is a Target exclusive.
After seeing Ghoulia 👀.... in the monster high Music video I'm going to have to pass on her. She looks like the rejective Left over's of Barbie extra and they couldn't even match her eyebrows with her hair . Skirt looks like plastic pink Arts and crafts .They skipped her pants and she has Frankie's old skin color.
When I saw the comparison with the "OG" Toralei I realized what a big difference a chest joint makes, like the chest joint makes it seem more high quality. But perhaps its just me. Anyway, my only "issue with the doll would be that she smiles so much. I feel like a smile like Draculaura, or even Lagoona or Frankie would've fit better for all characters (Especially since the smiles were a big complaint in G2). Like I see why they want to give the dolls a smile, since Rainbow High and LOL also have a slight smile, but Ion understand why so much
Wow, my first time seeing this doll. I wish they'd kept her hair short because honestly it's the only thing I liked about Toralei. This new version reminds me of more of Cheetah from DC superhero girls.
They made G1 Toralei dolls with short and long hair. I’m with you, I always liked the short hair better. I kinda wish this one had a more sassy look to her. Toralei has always been a troublemaker and I wish this face mold reflected that
I think they gave her long hair maybe because some people don't like her pixie cut hair before,they can just cut her hair shorter if they want... She's still pretty good for me

I have to agree with you here because they completely destroyed the original and classic style they had and that was my childhood and I'm beyond upset that they gave literally EVERY SINGLE FEMALE doll long ass hair
I think the main thing with the new faces are that they’re less fierce, I can definitely see children loving these. So many doll lines are going for the cartoony smile look
Yea I guess more younger kids, I know I liked them when I was younger(still do, I was ESTATIC for the reproduction) and didn’t mind the creepy style, I actually loved it and I’m kinda sad that there’s not more of it

The “UKCA” at the bottom of the box means that the doll will be sold in the UK. It will most likely be an Asda exclusive as Asda as owned by Walmart. Asda sold Walmart exclusive dolls in the past prior to the reboot too. for non British people, Asda is the British equivalent of Walmart, that is probably why there are Toralei variants, A British and American variant
I like the new body molds on the G3 dolls. I also like the added inclusion on the dolls origin stories. This is a great release to allow for a new generation of fans.
I don't mind Toreli's new doll. Other than the awkward choice with the long hair, she looks good. I plan on getting at least Cleo,Toreli, and Ghoulia from the reboot.
I think my only big issue with the new dolls is that they can't share shoes. I love that they have different body types, but I wish they had the same foot molds from G1 & G2 so all of the old shoes could be reused.

I personally don't like this new generation of dolls. They look too cartoony and too childish for my tastes. But the dolls seem to be really good quality and I'm happy Mattel is making new Monster High dolls!

I’m excited for G3! I’m also excited to see what lines they make and how they can improve if they do at all. But overall I love each character so far 🖤
Sigh... it is not that I don't like G3. It is that I love G1 so much still. It is a cute doll, probably too cute for me. I have space issues so to add dolls in my collection I don't like 100% is not a great idea. I prefer the original Toralei dolls so much. I know I should not compare but it is nearly impossible not to. At the moment, the only G3 one I really want is Cleo. I need to see these dolls in real life anyway. Videos and photograhs can be deceiving (in a good or bad way).
I wish they would sell the new dolls more internationally because it’s really hard to get them :/ we don’t have walmart and target here so there is no way I can get the dolls myself the only way would be ebay (with ridiculous prices) or the offical side wich is absolutely botted we all know that :/

Ok, had my reservations about her, especially after the first pic got posted and quite honestly still do. I really need to see these irl to make really make up my mind. Glad to hear the hair is Saran and not the dreaded poly we all thought she might’ve had. Out of all the dolls we’ve seen in hand pics of, she ranks a little lower for me, for now.
I hope they don't repeat the same mistake with G2, becoming stingy with the articulation. All G1 dolls are equally articulated & it's beautiful. The thing I'm still struggling to like with G3 is the personality/character overhaul. Especially with Clawdeen, she became G1 Frankie FFS! I wonder how many people noted their Cave Club color aesthetic though. P. S. Are their heads filled with glue? Because that's a deal breaker after what I dealt with with my G1 dolls this year. It's not doing the treatment that I hate, it's the discoloration & due to the softened ageing heads their inner neck flaps are ripping during head removal(I filled them with baby powder to dry out the glue).

I think as an OG fan it's important for us to remember 2 things: A reboot is not obligated to follow prior canon as far as characterization and styling at all and that as adults this is NOT aimed for us and that we have to be able to be objective when engaging for them/this franchise made for a newer audience. It's ok for us not to like it but us not liking it isn't the same as it being bad in some way. As far as the dolls themselves go I haven't gotten any early myself but I will say that I think the money went to the right places as far as the screenings & bodies and that the clothing looks decent. I do think the shoes overall are slightly weaker but I can imagine with time they will continue to get better and do think all the flats are to counteract the stands not being there for the moment. A diary would also be nice but I imagine that is where the cartoon will fill in the blanks as well.
I hope the cartoon follows a storyline that's better told than in gen1. And i think not having diaries is going to make that much easier bc many times the diaries and the series followed different canon storylines and it's pretty confusing

I think it's cool that they made her hairier, like a werecat would be, and I like the cat nose. But I don't like the long hair and the lack of stripes on her cheeks. They also took the edge off her outfit, which is disappointing :/
Got this Toralei for Christmas and I'm loving her! She's my second ever Monster High doll. My first was G3 Cleo! I'm curious on getting their heads off tho so I can get the stupid plastic things Mattel decide to stick into their heads to staple them to the packaging. For now I just nipped one side and shoved them into the head.. I plan to get the other dolls as well at some point but it's just slow going because funds and Mattel deciding to release like 5 lines of dolls at once...
Idk about anyone else but I really want to see a girl monster high doll that has jeans. I think there are so many cute shirts that g3 has that would look very cute with jeans
One thing I like about the G3 dolls is that because the feet are not as long or pointed the shoes can be heels or made to look more flat like here with Toralie. That's always something that bothered me like crazy with the older gen dolls, that they always had a heel. It just looked so ridiculous to see them being in these gym clothes or roller skates but with these massive heels that look so uncomfortable and impractical to run or roll in. They could definitely do more with the Gen3 shoes as they are a bit lackluster compared to the past but I'm glad they molded the feet in a way where both heels and flats can be an option.
I hope MH quality keep getting better and better just like RH that those dolls quality are everything but I know that in the end the quality will go all the way down but let’s hope that’s not the case for this reboot

I have freaky field trip Toreli as well her GSR I’m good on Toreli she was never one of my favorite characters to begin with but I prefer my OG ones over G3 definitely. I will be getting a couple G3 characters she’s just not one of them too cutesy not enough edge
I think shes up there with Lagoon, I like the new design a lot I think my main issue with gen 3 has been the face molds theres something about them, and the way they're painted that just doesn't feel right. Maybe I'll warm up to it after a while. Or if they give us a good abbey doll, I think I'd be fine with anything if they did that dndndbdnn

I think my main issue with gen 3 has been the face molds theres something about them, and the way they're painted that just doesn't feel right.
Maybe I'll warm up to it after a while. Or if they give us a good abbey doll, I think I'd be fine with anything if they did that dndndbdnn

Honestly, they look amazing! I love the body types..not way too fond of the faces. I think it’d be cool to see if a old monster high head would work on these bodies.
I think Toralei is one of my favourite G3 Dolls next to Draculaura and Frankie (maybe Cleo). It's just soo painful that she has long hair. If i get this doll I'll cut it for sure.
