I have to say these drivers look fantastic from Wilson I will definitely be trying them out this year
I play the old Ping 400 max, have tried all the other big names thru the years and nothing has it’s forgiveness and they can only gain me a few yards at best, would love to see you put a handful of the best drivers from years past to see how they compare, not sure you would find much gain with new ones on your tests?
Not against the 400 Max no, it was a driver ahead of its time. The first 10K driver to be produced and not sung about. Only thing is I would need a new head against a new head as to keep everything as comparable as possible. Drivers actually get faster with age, the materials start to flex more with use. Not sure how hard it is to find new 400 Max heads nowadays 🤔👍

on those vs Eleven Hybrids and Cleveland Halo Irons for an 80mph swing please?
I had the old Titanium model with a 50 gram RDX. It replaced my TSi3 at the time but sold it a few months later for no valid reason at all. It was easier than a Ping to hit but I bought the 10.5 and it launched so high. Into a wind it was brutal but the dispersion was insane. Looking at maybe getting fit for the new one as I’m selling my G430

If you have a 5 year or older Driver buying last years model is a more cost effective way to upgrade and gain performance especially where you can get it fitted.
All good stuff but when are you reviewing the Taylormade qi35 drivers
Hi Roger, they are on the list to do, but being honest I've chosen to prioritise the release of the Wilson content as they were kind enough to supply me with media samples for review prior to embargo. Unfortunately Taylormade didn't so I have to source them from elsewhere 👍

Do wilson dilute their brand by selling cheaper box sets? Their best irons and woods seem to be a match for anything.
Callaway and cobra also do cheap box sets
Other brands do box sets and don't seem to suffer although I feel the marketing budget is by far the biggest factor in that 😉👍

Kudos to WIlson for providing an all titanium option with the MAX. I will never buy a driver with carbon panels.
Your choices are dwindling by the years as more and more move over to the multi material construction heads 😟👍
its wild that we are in a place where a driver costing nearly $500 is the "budget option"
Some Drivers are just eye poppingly expensive and the longer it goes on, the more used to this level people get. I said it here..... Anything that is cheaper than the general expensive brands is seen as a better budget option... How long do you think it'll be before the first normal manufacturer $1000 Driver?? 🤷
Wilson obviously is making some quality stuff, but it's hard to crack the marketing behemoths and fitters pushing the $$$ stuff. Like the TI face as carbon will not last long in the face of a driver and will see it quickly go away!
This is up there now, £499 retail for ls and carbon, might find it places for £450 but it getting up there with the big boys
Sorry you lost me. The driver tested at the 3 swing speeds is at 9.5° or more?
All speeds were tested at 10.5 degrees of loft. I have this Max in the 10.5 head so no adjustments needed. The other two heads I have to test are the Carbon and the LS and they were supplied in the 9 degree loft. With the loft sleeve I'm able to up the loft on those 2 to match this ones 10.5 just in case anyone will be watching them all for comparison purposes 👍👍
I love the Wilson brand. I hate the name. Why not use Staff Max, Staff pro, Staff Carbon.

It’s £500 for LS and £450 for the max, not really budget anymore. The LS is up there price wise with all other brands.
It's becoming silly really with costs in saying they are still slightly less expensive than the rest of the expensive brands, but it's the way of things at the moment. I heard that the Max was going to be circa £399, and the LS £449..... But again that depends on what the online retailers do 🤷👍
RRP is £480 for Carbon & LS, and Max RRP is £435. But you’re right Jay, I’m also already hearing that they’ll sell at £449 and £399. If that’s true, that is very good value

My budget is $300 max for a driver which means I buy models that are two years old.
How would you compare this max with G440 max?
