I've been on Lake Huron in bigger waves. This looks like a normal day on any of the Great Lakes.

As a child, I was in MUCH larger waves in Lake Michigan. This title strikes me as click-bait cause the waves are not big.

When you are a child everything looks bigger. For us "Pleasure Boaters" 6-8 footers are "Big Enough" to call "Big". I guess it's all in what you are used to. Would love to hear about YOUR experiences! As this is a shared video for our fellow AGLCA members, and not a monetized video, I wouldn't call it "Click Bait" but as mentioned, it's all in what you are used to!

Sheesh I cross Lake Michigan a lot in a 26 foot walk around I’m going this Saturday which is a questionable decision lol but that boat is a rig clearly those are some waves I’ll tell you what if I am stuck in 1-3 going from Waukegan to new buffalo I’m cruising tabs down at a crippled 20 mph lol good video man

I love how folks claim high waves but never tell how high they are or how they measured them.

I salmon fish Lake Ontario in a PY Avenger. I've been caught out in some pretty big seas when fishing just cause I didn't want to pull up and head in cause the bite was so good. Pretty surprising how fast they can build on the lake O. One particular instance we were down by Ginna NPP. Seas were pretty big but like I said we were catching. Well happened to pass a fellow fisherman who is a Charter Capt out of our marina. We passed about 40 yds or so apart. He said when we would go down in the trough the only thing he could see is the top of our flag on the radio mast. Those were almost haystacking so we came about and headed back to the marina which actually was easier going with a following sea than into it. Been other times too. We consider a good salmon chop 6' plus. It's all in how you go into them. Not head on buy at an angle, quartering into them. A heavy wide boat helps too. thanks
PS the biggest I've been in personally were 12 footers plus. Was crewing on a charter boat out of our marina. We were headed back in cause the clients were all getting sick. Those were big rollers and not a chop which made it a bit easier on the boat. Lake O can get a fearsome chop going for sure. Rollers are way better than a big chop as for comfort.

Fetch is huge. Off the east coast, we can have gentle breezes from the east that will over a few days, make the ocean an unpleasant place to head east....toward the tuna! Same thing on the GL's. Fetch is half of the equation.

Those are not big waves, I sailed from Sheboygan to Waukegan in 8 footers for over 2/3’s the trip (125 miles). This looks like a cakewalk.
