I love Richard Hawley, but he has his facts wrong on ASBO’s.
They were introduced in 1998 by Tony Blair and David Blunkett and NOT the Tories. Unless Richard meant Tory Blair!

I'm in the U.S. and this is the song that drew me into Mr. Hawley's music. Oddly enough, I heard it on television during the end credits of a "Simpsons" episode. I said, joyfully, as the song thrilled me immediately, "Who the hell is that?" I grabbed my phone and made it listen to the song, where it managed to identify it with just the few last notes before the 20th Century Fox tune kicked in. I've been a Hawley fan ever since.

Weirdly enough I found this song from a Royal Enfield promotional video and it is absolutely beautiful

Wonderful musicians, extraordinary songwriter. Agree 100% with Richard's observations about short sighted oppressive Government responses to alleged social disorder.. only thing to point out is that, shamefully it was a Labour Govt that devised ASBOs - indeed Sheffield MP David Blunkett.
Great stories, see you in The Greystones.

It was Labour who were slapping on the ASBO's at the time, not the Tories, which kind of shows they are all the same! Democracy is a sham, and we all lose voting for the Labour - Conservative Tag team UniParty. One day people will wake up!, that aside this a beautiful song!
