- just some incomplete content I had. the job went well did the front crank seal along with the head gasket.
hopefully more complete content will be in the future
Always nice to see more videos on diesels...thanks for sharing this with us!
I guess you will be checking the head to see if it’s OK. Those Cat’s were bad to damage the heads when a head gasket blew, especially if someone had already replaced the head gasket. We always replaced and put new head bolts in so as not to have one or two that had been over-torqued. Have fun and keep putting out good videos.
That’s a beautiful flag hanging behind you in the shop and I think you might have to give the old time welder a raise great video
Great to see ya working on CAT
Does not hurt to check the head for warpness too.Have found head gasket failures because the heads were warped was one reason why.Have redone head gasket jobs because the previous person whom did them never had the heads checked for warpness.Had that same problem,a stuck injector in my dad's 1983 John Deere 410 when the engine was replaced.A pencil style and left it the old engine, replaced it with a new one which was not that much money
Make sure your check that spacer plate out good and check the block water passage surfaces good.
Thanks Phil. Enjoyed the video. I like to see semi's being worked on.
Good work!
That head gasket looking like Tareks rear end “blown out” 😄
I wonder if this is the same Tarek I'm thinking of. Just had trailer-tree-hospital problem last week.
Have a good week Turbo
Poor kitty cat. Good to see another one of these older engines being fixed instead of sent to the crusher
Nice content, keep it coming.
Hell yeah lets do some caterpillar wrenchin ✌👨🏭🇦🇹
God you are lucky that bolt is loose haha
👍
👍don't scrap them, just post them all
I wonder how many hours I have wasted looking for a drink around the shop
(Need to check with the painters...those guys hid drinks all over the place).
Milwaukee would have got bolts off better. Lol.
Do these heads need to go to a machine shop every time a gasket goes? Can the mechanic in the field determine whether milling is needed?
👍
