I almost fell off the chair. My kid is listening to this Old McDonald had a farm song when suddenly looking for an EIGRP configuration tutorial... BOOM
@CertBros: Please continue to make more of these videos, and if need be create a Patreon. These are extremely simple, well thought out, and clean for the end-user experience. I haven't seen a new video in 5-months, and would love it if you continued to make more when time permits. Thanks!
Solid explanation! I just finished my CCNA course and am taking practice tests. Now I actually understand what EIGRP does LOL.. PS I liked the neighbor analogy.
Cert bros. Can you guys please put out more videos on a consistent basis. I would pay top dollar for your videos. I've yet to come across videos as clear and precise as these. Please let me know what you have in the works. I feel that I can learn anything as long as I see that blue background.
you sir are underrated. Hope your channel will grow more and people know you more. Your explanations are straight and direct to the point like a summary of a book. thanks a lot. will be watching all your videos.
@@Certbros , thank you for your answer, I hope that this youtube channel could grow as fast as possible and become more popular, it's very interesting XD
... got slightly confused with a successor and a successor route? Isn't there a mistake (14:20)? I thought the successor was the next-hop router for the successor route and the successor route was the route with the lowest metric to reach a destination. If so, then there is a mistake in your explanation. Am I right?
Thank you so much I was really struggling to understand FD & RD along with how to calculate Metric, so with the help of this video my concepts are much clearer then the day before when I started to study EIGRP. Awsome channel!!
how good are your videos ? Well i've been through 3 mins of this one and i paused so i could hit that subscribe button...that's how good. You do not give a linear boring as fuck lecture of the subject that's how good it is. A little bit of you humour to digest the information, some cli commands display so we get a glimpse of what it looks on the field...that's how good they are! keep up the good work please
I have so much trouble understanding the whole course and I am planning in taking my test next month before the deadline. Feels like I have not learned anything and I am deeply discouraged. I just found your videos and I am hoping this helps me understand what I am learning. Thank you
Really cool way of explaining it! Will top up with reading and labs but got the concept of it and that's what I was looking for! Will subsc and watch more videos on your channel! Big Thanks!!
This is a great explanation of EIGRP. However, I would like to inform one thing that is not clarified in this video is that there is a difference between FD (feasible distance) and CD (computed distance). When we get RD (reported distance) from the neighbour and add the metric value to reach the neighbour it will provide the CD and not FD. The least computed distance route(s) become the successor route(s) and its CD is considered as FD.
How can a router calculate the new metric when it knows only the RD from the adjacent router and its own bandwidth and delay to that router? How would it know what the least bandwidth is? How does it know the other delays? Shouldn't those (from the other router's perspective) also be sent down the path?
What an awesome channel to learn or refresh some of Cisco's networking technologies & solutions!!! One question though, the subnets don't have to match between the two neighbors. I tried it in a lab environment and was able to establish neighbor relationship between two peers.
This dude is the best EIGRP explainer I've ever heard.
Thanks Bizzy B!
Right!
I will NEVER forget what active state(lol) means in relationship with EIGRP! Excellent presentation 👍
Hahaha exactly! Thanks!!
I can relate!!!
They sure know how to cater for all society lolx
yeah:D
