I am trying to transfer contents of my old 1GB SD card in my Galaxy S4 to a new 16 GB one, however, when I try to copy from the old card (which has 700+ MB of data) to my computer, I only end up with about 15MB data in the temporary computer file (and lots of empty folders). I have tried showing hidden folders, etc, but nothing changes. Any advice?

An sd card will not read on a laptop and they don't normally sell an adapter for an sd card only an adapter for a micro sd card adapter card where you put micro sd cards into it which is bigger than an SD card and can fit into your laptop. So you must have forgotten to mention its a micro sd adapter card
This is actually a normal SD card! This video was made 6 years ago, back when laptops had standard SD card readers built in. It’s the same concept with a microSD card, just buy an adapter for whatever type of port (I’m assuming you’re dealing with USB-C, there are adapters out there!!)
@@ghostweathermusic Well that was the issue and exactly what I tried to do. Except that stupid companies like KEEP ONN literally put the letters SD on their readers/adapters. For example I bought a keep onn 3 in one reader last week that said SD, Micro SD, and some very large card type name I forget, and when I put my SD card into it, I found out it's not an SD slot it's a Micro SD card adapter card!!! That's why I came on here to bash you. But I just realized your video is 6 years old it popped up with other videos randomly. But I'm still confused because upon further investigation I may not have an SD card (from your era of 6 years ago). I have a DUAL SB (or something similar) that looks like an SD card that goes into my PSP (which I'm trying to make aback up copy of to another card that looks like an SD, I have to check if they both say Dual SB or whatever.) And I did find a 5 or 7 in one adapter for an DUAL SB finally on Amazon where you can see a Dual SB card slot on the reader/adapter but they still call MicroSD adapter cards SD!!! So do you mind taking a picture of your SD card you claim is a real SD card and emailing it to me or I can make a voip number you can text it too. Do they even sell SD cards of old anymore? Are DuelSb cards also considered alternative type of SD cards? And SDXC adapter cards look exactly like MicroSd card adapters, they are also micro SD card adapter cards so why are they called SDXC and not just SD!! ( even thought it's not SD) WTF 😒
Will this work with the ed 64 plus sd card it comes with 16gb because I want to upgrade to a 32gb SD card with faster data transfer rate and I would like to know if this the the right way to do it. I got a class 10 32gb sd card with fat 32 format which is the same as the card that comes with the ed 64 plus so if you read this and if you can let me know if this method works that would be great sorry for long question just I'm new at this flash cart stuff and don't want to lose data off ed64 sd card thanks any help will be appreciated.

Does he new card need to be formatted by the phone first or can I insert it in to the reader straight from it's package? My guess is that all the formatting instructions will be copied on from the old disc anyway.

I did exactly what you did but I didn't have any of my Pokémon games or saved data on the new sd card. Could it be just the games? I don't have the cartridges. I downloaded them.

Sorry, but this did not work for me. The new SD Card that I transfered the Photos and Videos to, shows all the Photos and Videos that I transfered on my computer, but when I take the SD Card out and stick it into my camera, on my camera it says no image, as if there is no data on the SD Card at all, like I never transfered them. I'm confused and need help.

I'm installing a larger sd card on my phone. Problem: Is it possible to move data from one sd card to another without using computer hard drive space? I do not have enough space on m computer to move my SD card files.
This is the same thing I'm trying to figure out. I think it's possible if you connect both to laptop to complete the transfer. Insert old sd card into sd slot port and use a reader for the new SD card in another USB port.

i have a galaxy core prime. when I put the sd card in the adapter in my laptop an icon comes on the bottom toolbar. when I double click that, I get a window for a few seconds that says, "devise setup: installing sd card. please wait while setup installs necessary files on your system. this may take several minutes". HUH??? To back up a little...a couple of weeks ago I took the sd card out of this phone not knowing you have to unmounts it first. Ever since I put it back in, I get messages saying it's damaged. The lady at metro looked in where the card goes in the phone and saw a gold piece hanging down on one side. Would this be why i'm getting that message when I'm trying to transfer everything? Please reply soon...i'm looking to get a new phone soon. Thanks!!

Update: I ended up having to plug the phone into the laptop then figure out the rest on my own cause my system can't copy/paste like yours does. When everything was done, i discovered going from a 2gb to an 8gb wasn't going to do it. I now need to find out from metropcs exactly which SD card will be best in the galaxy j3 prime, buy that & do the transfer all over again. I'm thinking I need more than 64gb.

I tried this from a 32gb to a 64gb micro sd it did it but left my amazon music files behind. mthe music folders had transferred but the music wasn't in there. Am I doing something wrong?
This could be for multiple reasons. My guess is that it didn't copy them and they need to be re-copied into the folder. Another possibility, is that the music has some sort of copyright protection on it, making it harder to copy between folders so that people won't just make endless copies of the music. While this makes it difficult to copy, I can tell you it is not impossible. You might want to look up a video on how to copy copyright-protected music from folder to folder, that would be your best bet. Thanks for watching and I hope this helped!

So it doesn't matter that you are using Windows 10 OS to transfer files that were created by an Android OS? Great that it works but wondering what that is possible?
Neil DeBoer the files I transferred are in a format that the android OS can handle, the files just have to be compatible with the device you’re trying to load them on. I’m hope this helps!
