Nice design and I liked the way you made the most of the options you had available to you at the time.
Your lid system is very similar to what they used to use to make grease boxes, minus the magnets. Very cool. Ordered my Shapeoko yesterday, excited to receive it.
I can count at least a dozen times where I heard you, under your breath, say you wish you were working in fusion..
I'd rather say Vectric Aspire, but yes, I heard it too. And of course always cut the outer profile last. And for goodness sake cut dowel holes in the waste wood for positioning multiple parts, don't try to guess where it should be. Go watch some of the Vectric videos to see how this should be done. As for the bit, why on earth were you using a ball nose? A down-cut square end was needed to give you a tidy pocket.

Thanks for the great video! I think it's time to consider moving to the metric system.. All these fractions of inches just complicate things for you..

Since the pin hole went all the way through, would it not have been easier to just mirror the lid shape and then do the pin hole and the magnet hole at the same time as surfacing and cutting out the lid from stock?
-Is there a way to move shapes in CC without using snap? i.e. I want a 50mm square at 12mm from x and y edges and a 25mm circle centered into that square.- nvm I found it :)
Awesome video as usual! Where do you purchase your wood at? My local hardware stores always seem limited to pine pine and more pine.😑
Not a lot of selection at hardware stores. Best to find a woodworking store like Woodcraft, Rockler, Ganahl's, etc, or a lumber/furniture dealer. Especially if they sell scraps/offcuts.
Do the instruction for these projects get posted somewhere? Great looking case.

Does Carbide 3d have a video for beginners? Something in real time. These videos you have put out are great for inspiring folks but I would like one that actually explains the software. Answers some questions like why you do something one way versus doing it another way. Are there any Carbide 3d evangelists out there teaching on RUclips? Longmill has a wonderful evangelists name Garrett Fromme that does a great job teaching and promoting the Longmill. I have made my choice and I plan to purchase Shapeoko 5 very soon but I am scouring RUclips for an Shapeoko 5 evangelist is there anyone out there?
