Battle to the Brattle Steve..!..A ' lot of books' is music to the ears..or OO-Mox to the Ferengi among us..Your NJ farm reference 'Who did you offend?' Is Miaow! saucer of milk laughter.. Love it Steve..
Another fun video. Speaking of espionage fiction with female authors, I really enjoyed The Spy Coast, by Tess Gerritsen. Book #1 of the Martini Club series. I will definitely read the next book when it is published.
Oh man! I haven’t seen that Leckie book on the Civil War before. That’s a great find Steve. I do believe I am a little jealous. Thanks for sharing all of these books. Hope all is well with you. PS - we got ourselves a little snow too. Out of school today and tomorrow. Oh well, that’s life in Iowa. Stay warm!
@@saintdonoghue Some of us in Iowa aren't quite so lucky to take a snow day off, even in the face of 11-12" of snowfall. I'm not envious of Bill at all...
@@saintdonoghue Yeah, but with new technology we do virtual days so that the students don't have to tack on the days at the end of the year. It's great to have and the kids can still stay on track with the material in class.
Enjloyable video, Steve; I especially enjoyed the bits about Phoebe Atwood Taylor and Irving Stone. But the payoff, making me laugh aloud, was the Boston-ism: “Yeah…I’ll give you your deeper meaning right here…”
Steve, I found you because of a Booktuber named Jennifer Brooks. I don't know if you were aware of her, but she was my second favorite Booktuber after you. She pased away of unknown causes on the 3rd of January, even through she was just in her mid to late twenties. I feel awful. I just wanted you to know that she was wonderful and she was your fan.
@@saintdonoghue I should have said washable. Spent a lot of money on them but our sweet Mandy is no longer with us. I can send them to you and you can decide if you like them
I see the portrait of Erasmus of Rotterdam by Hans Holbein the Younger on the wall behind you. Painted c. 1523. Interesting! ❤

That copy of Pearl looks like a great edition/collection.
Ooh, I want to get that Pearl Poet book! And the Erasmus book!
Love getting little looks at the authors.

Oh that's right - you get snow days off!

I loved Irving Stone’s book origin. I wanted my biology students to read it.
Firing on all cylinders here Steve, thanks for sharing!
Boy, I’ve been watching this channel for so long. I’ve seen Sand County Almanac at least once on this channel before.
I'm holding onto this one! I hope -
For a minute I thought you would attempt the traditional one big tower of books 🙈🙈
Halfway through Banbury Bog and still trying to piece the 'clews' together!
Fruit pie, anyone?

Hah! Sorry - sometimes Southie peaks out ...
I was looking forward to a Brattle haul!
i want to read my first western this year
(of course it will be one that you suggested)
You should! June on the Range is great fun!

I was told about this by many people - it's shocking. Honestly I'm still trying to get my head around it.
Oh no! I didn't know this!
Glad you survived
I have some reusable puppy pads you can have
They're reusable???? And: they work? Do they have a strong odor?
