  • With the conclusion of our GARC 10m pistol competition last night (as featured by my in the latest / December 2019 issue of Airgun World magazine), I thought I’d show you five quite different target pistols used.
    • I demonstrate my FAS 6004
    • then Bri demonstrates his Izzy (Baikal IZH-46m)
    • Alex demonstrates his Feinwerkbau FWB80
    • then finally Nick demonstrates his spring-powered HW45 and Single Stroke Pneumatic (SSP) HW75. Thanks again guys for your time.
Then I show cocking / loading / firing both the FAS6004 and my own new (S/H) Izzy in more detail, explaining for about the functionality of the latter, and why I’m reluctantly replacing the FAS with the Izzy. Thanks very much to Ian Décor on the AirgunForum (www.airgunforu...) -for selling me this immaculate pistol.
I then demonstrate the Izzy’s dry fire mechanism.
Thanks very much for watching, subscribe for more videos, coming up are more NV scopes, imagers and IR illuminators, more airgun reviews and also more Pest Control footage.

I have all these pistols except the FWB80. Here in Canada last year a dealer came across a shipment of Russian air pistols and I bought every single model including a brand new IZH 46m, Makarov BB pistol etc. The IZH had been made only 3 months before I bought it.

I have won golds and silvers with the izzy shooting against them all. Truly an exciting outstanding bit of kit once bought never need anything else for serious top gun club shooter level.
Nothing comes near it. It has never let me down once in 18 years shooting.
The pre charge folk grin when they see it and I get comments like has it an attachment for a plough. There ignorance is bliss because they have never seen one. But once i illuminate them they never say goodbye or well done they just quietly retire.

Thanks very much Mark, I like to try to offer something new / different whenever possible, and really enjoyed the challenge myself -so thought I'd share it with you all.
Bri's just sent me the final scoresheet, and his thoughts re more members competing next year; we're both really looking forward to it. 👍🏻

I want an Izzy! But for some damn reason, they’re no longer available in the USA. WTF? So instead I’m considering Air Venturi V10 (Gamo Compact), the HW75 (to go with my new HW97k rifle), the Sig Sauer ASP Super Target, and the FAS 6004. The Gamo’s price is very nice. So is the 6004s. I just want an accurate 10m pistol to practice with at a reasonable price.

Ha ha I don't blame you, as you saw my own preference was for a recoilless SSP target pistol with enough oomph to cut neat holes in the cards @10m.
I've heard the velocity from the FAS6004 can be improved with some tuning, e.g. a new breech seal etc.
Anyway good luck choosing and have fun!
      Cheers. Russ

@@RussDouglas222 Just purchased a new one through Krale ($$$ - wish I could go back 10 years and buy a new one for 1/2 the price...) Already have a Sig Super Target and HW45. Really looking forward to trying the Izzy out!

@@jonfrommaine1662 Nice one Jon, the dry-fire facility is a nice feature for practice too. 👍
I used mine last night at GARC, first time in a year... trigger felt sooo light, I really need to practice!
Anyway I'll have to measure it with the Wheeler gauge and check it's still over 500g. 🤔
      Cheers. Russ

@@RussDouglas222 I really liked your comparison. As mentioned I have the HW Black Star and it was interesting seeing it contrasted with the HW75. I've been considering that one, but decided I could only (barely) justify one more air pistol and the Izzy just seemed completely different. Is there anything special that you need to do to maintain these? I have some chamber oil and spring oil which I got for my spring rifles but not sure what you can do for oiling without taking everything apart, which I'm not yet comfortable doing.

Thanks again @@jonfrommaine1662, ah you've got me there, I'm not so experienced at the maintenance side of things and will be asking more experienced club friends for their tips on that front. All I've really done so far is adjust the rearsight and palm shelf, chrono it (which made me very happy after having first a Gamo then the FAS 6004 before this) -oh and increase the trigger pull to 500g; which is apparently "Olympic minimum", as it was barely on a hair trigger when I bought it.
Hope you love yours too Jon, enjoy!
      Cheers. Russ

I'm currently shopping for a single stroke pistol. My dream gun is the discontinued Feinwerkbau model 103, but I am considering the FAS 6004, although I like the power of the Beeman P1. I believe the Weirauch spring piston is the same gun but less powerful?

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  3 года назад

My FAS 6004 was sadly woefully underpowered, but you should definitely consider the Izzy, FWB80 and Original 6M.
      Have fun whatever you choose.
      Cheers. Russ
