    How long do the batteries last? Can you run the unit off a battery pack? Are the batteries rechargeable?

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  8 часов назад

      @@justsayin7937 The TNC uses standard rechargeable flat-top 18650 batteries (which are inexpensive), they'll last longer if you use less IR but they should last a few hours.
      I believe you can run it off a powerbank, but you can't charge onboard batteries within the unit.

    Regarding the ThermNight, will there be any change to the battery compartment, or more to the point the 'fiddly' screw in cap as on the 520R?

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  3 месяца назад

      I've asked the question but no, they're sticking with the 18650 batter. NV guru Bruce has tested the other prototype TNC225R and it has very low power drain, so that bodes well.

    Tbh the main reason I’m going to be buying this scope is I can spot rabbits/foxes already on my thermal spotter but when I put it down and try and find them with my digital ir scope I can’t ! now with this scope I can find them on thermal main screen and without moving rifle take the shot with IR Picture in Picture bloody hell this set up is going to be perfect 😊😊😊😊😊

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  Месяц назад

      @@simonbeer5259 Eggsactly! 👌
      Yep that's exactly how I'll use it, although for short-range ratting you can also leave the main screen on thermal, targeting them without PIP.
      Other question is do you wait till October for the 384x288 35mm lens version, and there might yet be a 384x288 or 640x512 50mm lens version.
      Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ

    Both reticles dont match up on the rabbit, which is the zero set at?

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  3 месяца назад

      I mention in the video the scope's on a tripod and not yet zeroed, so no - the two reticles don't yet match.
      The NV image's second, smaller + is the LRF's daylight aiming marker, but that only appears while the LRF is ranging.

  • @letsgobrandon6545
    @letsgobrandon6545 8 дней назад +1

    Amazing scope but it misses critical point for me, 1.0x magnification.
    Still bought it, but that's unfortunate it uses 3/5 as a base

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  7 дней назад +1

      @@letsgobrandon6545 Ah yes but TBH any scope that can do 1x mag isn't much use for medium-long range.
      I've now got a production TNC225R and love that the LRF ranges down to 4m, and both the digital and thermal lenses focus down to 3m.
      For extra-short range use I'm planning to disable PIP and simply target prey with thermal with thermal.

    Hi good vidio once again dose the scope have colour pallets in thermal mode red hot black hot and so on

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  3 месяца назад

      Thanks Gareth. Yes it does but I didn't want to include too much in this first night vid.
      Once thermal's active in either window, pressing the left button (that steps through IR brightness levels in NV mode), toggles White hot / Black hot / Rainbow... I'll show this in another video soon, probably at night as summer daytime conditions are too warm for good thermal contrast.

    • @RussDouglas222

      Great vids as always for what ever reason you seem to chill me right out. From what i can gather hearing and reading from other people posts and comments i hear the Akron is a better buy than the hik 4k Alpex, saying the day mode is better and I would be mainly using in the day, it's the ballistic app that I need my dialing in is and has always been terrible to many times I missed the opportunity by being slow, first ranging then app then dialing while try to minimise movement and my hold off is well off most the time, if you could spare me your thoughts please would be much appreciated. Oh also will the day night mode be better quality than the previous models in the finale version if so I'll wait if not ill buy now as have good thermal spotter already
