I think you missed a great tip there: You will find a Neuromod blueprint eventually so you build skills to maximize the ammount of resources you can get asap. That way you'll have enough resources to make more neuromods than you can possible need.
I love using turrets. If low on spare parts, a lot of operators in the hardware lab. You can take down big enemies even lure the big-ol nightmare into a prestaged kill-zone using a half dozen or fortified turrets. Make sure to spread them apart too, even on stairs at different levels, so they wont all be knocked down as fast
Also, about those security stations; use them logically. You find a door, who could have the key? You find a mention about someone else in a log, try to find that other person. And so on and so forth. The game is actually extremely intuitive in this regard, and the security stations are an invaluable asset when it comes to finding hidden areas, keys, and solve (or pick up) side-missions.
#1 regret for me -- Using 5 or 6 weapon upgrades on the silenced pistol, only to discover a very good reason to just recycle the thing later in the game.
With a few wrench upgrades and the phantom shift Typhon ability, you can dispatch even Nightmares with your wrench. Just teleport behind the Nightmare (or any creature in the game) and wack it with your wrench as it's distracted by your clone. As soon as your clone disappears, just teleport behind the enemy again. It's a very effective rinse and repeat process.
Get the 20% boost in recycling yield early, so you gain more material long term. The ability to slow down time is fairly useful, as many typhons attack quickly. Psychoshock is useful, as many typhons are vulnerable to psychic attacks, some specifically to psychoshock. Gloo gun is fine, but you can incapacitate typhons longer and from farther away with the psychic attacks that the typhons are vulnerable to, especially the tougher typhons. Shotgun is indispensable, and so is the q-beam in longer range.
The fully upgraded stun gun you can get pretty early is badass !! 7+ more shots + 2 sec charge + 8sec stun and the military drones wont know what hit them !!
As an adendum to the first tip, when it comes to taking out mimics a good use of your gun is to sneak and use the pistol to get a sneak attack bonus. don't waste shotgun shells though, they are much more difficult to find throughout the game.
Screw these tipps, screw the gloo gun and upgrade the stungun instead. The gloo gun only allows you to hit a enemy twice before they start moving around again. The stun gun however stuns enemys for the whole duration on the stat chart and you can hit enemys as much as you want. Additionally the stun gun itself is extremely effective against machines and some of the bigger enemys. Once fully maxed you can stun a enemy instantly due to the reduced charge up time via upgrades.
Okay, nice. Thought I had missed some kind of "Secret" upgrade, because the Gloo Gun is pretty darn shit in combat. Shutgun and stungun was my go-to weapons against everything.
Except that the Stun gun when upgraded consumes less ammo can also deal huge damage to robots which is helpful when fighting Dahl and also at higher difficulties the gloo gun takes too much time to incapacitate enemies and only works for a couple hits whereas the Stun gun stuns the target for the full duration regardless of whether you attack them or not it also can be upgraded further with the same neuromods required to upgrade the shotgun meaning you will have more neuromods to spend on increased damage or more speed for easy dodging so in the end the gloo gun is a steaming pile of shit and you should just focus on upgrading the Stun gun it will help you much more during your time playing the game
Not really with mods it can take half a second to charge and you can get 1100 ammo right at the start of the game and the ammo is also cheap to make and also you don't have to waste organic material on ammo like with the gloo gun and you can spend it else where like with creating neuromods and medkits
Nightmare isnt all that hard. Hit is with a concussion blast then pop it with the shotty. With the weapon damage neuromod fully upgraded ,the nightmare is barely a threat.
Perhaps im late but i got it free in epic games. If you are scared of encountering the nightmare like me, look for its detection bar when arriving to a new area. The nightmare always has the detection bar visible at 90%, meaning that you can see it through walls but with the drawback that it just need a glimpse of your foot to start chasing you. Also the running speed neuromod and typhon shield (i think its called repulse) are ideal to flee as fast as you can.
I have 65 hours into Prey as I write this. Your tip about using thr the GLOO Gun to freeze Phantoms is golden, You even kill a Phantom with a wrench...a WRENCH!!! WOW! I gotta try that. I can spot Mimics because I have a Scope with the Mimic Chipset. I can kill them with the Pistol while they are an object. And you're right about the Shotgun.. That is my goto weapon.
i spent all my points to fully upgrade my suit for more invertory space + 20% yeild for materials and i just crafted a huge load of neromods easily!!!! NOT LOOKING BACK!!!
I found that the electric charge gun is better than first thought, especially when upgraded, it renders most if not all enemies with just one hit and then blast away with the glorious shotty
tbh id say the shotgun is the best, upgrading shot gun and the scurity damage upgrades can hagve you one shot most phantoms and 2 shots most elemental phantoms, even going ham on a nightmare without it landing a hit
2 things 1. explosive canisters are your best friend when it comes to phantoms 2. Upgrade your stun gun. Corrupted engineering operators are a pain in the a if you don’t
- Mimics don't even matter by mid-game. Shit, it doesn't even take long to get a scope chipset that literally tells you if an object is a mimic. - Using the GLU gun basically the whole game is good advice. Ammo's plentiful, and it works on *most* Typhon types. However, the Q-Beam is a better pairing with the GLU by early-mid game than the shotgun. You don't even have to bother upgrading the shotgun.
Stay stocked on shotgun shells, 9mm ammo, glue gun canisters, and medkits. Plus that mind control really comes in handy especially when you're out of ammo. And upgrade
I want to hear you read literally anything and everything. Please and thank you. Menus? Readers comments? Books? Podcasts transcribed? Yes, please and thank you. ❤😅
If you have a good headset, you can actually hear where the Buggers are hiding. They make a strange noise when they're disguised. And if you sneak and wrench them, instant kill!
Hmmm. Nah. Resources are king. Especially once you can fabric shotgun shells and neuromods. I've found the best conservation of resources is energy attacks and water fountains or faucets which restore psi completely. With an upgrade or two, they can one hit kill, it's great. Liberation from resource dependency.
Even on nightmare difficulty mimics or phantoms aren't that much of a threat as they seem to have a very low amount of hit points. Only real threat I found so far is a giant floating robot thing.
The most scary thing in Typhon called Nightmare is amount of ammo what you need to kill him. But if you have enough - go for almost free exotic material. Use nullwave grenade then laser or shotgun or even recycle grenades and you easily eradicate him
My own few tips 1 Turrets are really useful early game. Have them face a door when you open it or have it cover your back. Being all alone on a hostile infected station can also feel straining, turrets will for large parts of the game be your only allies, keep them as company :D 2 Don't waste ammo on mimics, just wrench them or use turrets. 3 conserve as much ammo as possible, especially for the shotgun. When you face your first elementals, you really want that ammo.
rule number 1 if you see a turret, carry wherever you go and store each bullet from your shotgun, pistol and glue gun, they help it most powerfull typhons
Did used any neuromods till about the crew quarters area (finding the girls tapes(hacking and carrying)) and then again i used more after completing most side quest. Also was on nightmare mode. (So with 100 max health of the majority of the game). Still easy play through till Dahl set the laser military operators on you.
It's great if you want a bit of a survival horror that'll last you for a couple of days. But the game falls flat in the last chapter and has no replayability value, so in that sense it's not really worth the money. I'd recommend picking it up in sale.
madhouse5213 you dont know what difficulty he was playing on.........and I just completed a nighmare run and the gloo gun was not that essential.......i would actully say the stun gun is better, but it is all about play-style
The most important things you guys should know before you play *Prey* is the developers have a fetish for locked doors and safes, so get ready to waste time finding ways to open them. There are even locked doors inside of locked rooms!
What are talking about the gloo gun is shit I only used it for fire and climbing I only used the pistol and shotgun, the shotgun one shots at close range with full damage
maximize leverage to throw furniture at everything doing damage and saving ammo.. combine with telepathy for a half life gravity gun experience. By not having to craft ammo you will have materials for whatever you need.
All of that advice is really only good in the first few hours of the game. Once things heat up, pretty well none of those tactics beyond the stealth tip mean shit. Try fighting off a Nightmare with a Gloo Canon and you're gonna have a bad time. And by bad time I mean tentacle rape. Angry, brutal tentacle rape.
gloo gun and shotgun???? no no no no... try phsycoshock3 and shotgun. cheapest and fastest time to kill. get stealth and mobility too..icing on the cake.
From the footage I have a tip for you. USE THE SHOTGUN AT CLOSE RANGE! Also you lost sight of the mimics because you played a first person shooter with a controller. Not because they are black.
I think you missed a great tip there: You will find a Neuromod blueprint eventually so you build skills to maximize the ammount of resources you can get asap. That way you'll have enough resources to make more neuromods than you can possible need.
Rule nr.1 Thou shall carry turrets everywhere you go.
So TruE
I have lots of Typhon neuromods so I make piles of hacked turrets
Turret piles are op
not kidding i just straight up just got engineering 3 and started carrying a fortified turret around and its a pretty solid strategy
Thou shalt or thou shalt get assassinated, not but the Typhon's, by everyone here
Also, about those security stations; use them logically. You find a door, who could have the key? You find a mention about someone else in a log, try to find that other person. And so on and so forth. *pulls out shotgun*
Phantom:why do I hear doom music?
yeah, the neuromods don't stop coming. Just prioritize resource gathering and inventory perks along with your perks of preference.
#1 regret for me -- Using 5 or 6 weapon upgrades on the silenced pistol, only to discover a very good reason to just recycle the thing later in the game.
Yep. The Golden Gun. Yummy.
This game is so FREAKIN AWESOME
21innocentbystander I love it !
It's good, but easy. Even on Nightmare. Fabrication materials shouldn't be so easy to stockpile in huge amounts.
Meh it's actually very average...
I3LINK Let's agree to disagree! Cheers
You've had it for 2 months and you still think it's awesome?
As an adendum to the first tip, when it comes to taking out mimics a good use of your gun is to sneak and use the pistol to get a sneak attack bonus. don't waste shotgun shells though, they are much more difficult to find throughout the game.

stun gun is too slow and difficult to use. Not to mention its expensive and the ammo is rare to find naturally.
Not really with mods it can take half a second to charge and you can get 1100 ammo right at the start of the game and the ammo is also cheap to make and also you don't have to waste organic material on ammo like with the gloo gun and you can spend it else where like with creating neuromods and medkits
the stun gun is low key best gun in the game
Rule #2: Double Tap
Nah
Or just check to see if the health-bar is still there. smh
I have a handy tip. Never face the nightmare
He is actually really easy
Nightmare isnt all that hard. Hit is with a concussion blast then pop it with the shotty. With the weapon damage neuromod fully upgraded ,the nightmare is barely a threat.
Jesse McCree Just run don't even waste the ammo
I lured the nightmare into a trap with 6 fully upgraded turrets. It was really funny watching it melt.
Pretty easy
I got this game for 7.99 on the PS Store. I haven't played it yet. Do you think I made a good choice?
I'm buying Prey tonight, so thanks for the tips!
How did you like it Frankie?
Just picked it up from game pass. This game is phenomenal
you know what else is black" i thought she was going in a very different direction there for a moment
Perhaps im late but i got it free in epic games. If you are scared of encountering the nightmare like me, look for its detection bar when arriving to a new area. sneak attack wrench + shotgun was the best for me. the only time I used the glue gun is for some sort of platforming challenge.
i spent all my points to fully upgrade my suit for more invertory space + 20% yeild for materials and i just crafted a huge load of neromods easily!!!! NOT LOOKING BACK!!!
I found that the electric charge gun is better than first thought, especially when upgraded, it renders most if not all enemies with just one hit and then blast away with the glorious shotty
So they made prop hunt a single player horror game? I guess it sort of works.
VinnytotheK Meh, it's not really a horror game. It's just a story driven shooter.
Some jump scares but they are done well imo.
only jump scare I've had so far is in a bathroom a toilet paper went flying into me
lul
TheWorldWarrior I can remember 3 but I think that all of them are missable.
one jump scare is in the power plant
tbh id say the shotgun is the best, upgrading shot gun and the scurity damage upgrades can hagve you one shot most phantoms and 2 shots most elemental phantoms, even going ham on a nightmare without it landing a hit
2 things

when your stuck in the lobby and don't have leverage 3 to get into a room throw a explosive canister at it that will get rid of the objects in the way
Jimmy Howard355 or a recycler one. Then you also get material!
TL;DR: You wish you knew simple game mechanics
Stun Gun >>>> Gloo Gun. Upgrade Stun Gun and Shotgun First. These two are what I use on everything but mimic. And Its extremely effective.
Mimic: Wrench/Pistol
Typhon: Gloo/Shotgun
Weaver: Q-Beam
Techno: Emp/Shotgun/Pistol
Telo: Null/Shotgun/Pistol
Nightmare: Gloo/Shotgun/Pistol
DarkSylince I didn't get the second one bc mimics ,weaver, phantom all are typhon
or did you mean phantom instead of typhon
Yeah. Drew a blank on the name when I typed it.
oh ohk and btw i think q beam works more efficiently against nightmare
I wouldn't know. But that would make sense. I just never tried to.
If you have a good headset, you can actually hear where the Buggers are hiding. They make a strange noise when they're disguised. And if you sneak and wrench them, instant kill!

Pro tip glue gun + explosive red thingy > any other method of dealing damage
The best strategy I've found is using stealth. With it you can one-shot most of the regular sized baddies.
If youre quiet you can hear mimics and then u know in wich direction you are and THEN look for things that look fishi
Even on nightmare difficulty mimics or phantoms aren't that much of a threat as they seem to have a very low amount of hit points. Only real threat I found so far is a giant floating robot thing.
very good tips guide. thank you
Not like I already did this and don't waste your glo gun ammo on simple mimics that's dumb, use it to reach unreachable places
The most scary thing in Typhon called Nightmare is amount of ammo what you need to kill him. But if you have enough - go for almost free exotic material. Use nullwave grenade then laser or shotgun or even recycle grenades and you easily eradicate him
Also, LOOT AND RECYCLE A LOT, wish I knew that one..
The Mimics look like the black headcrabs from Half-Life 2.
My own few tips

Still easy play through till Dahl set the laser military operators on you.
@1:44 - the healthbar is still showing;
my OCD wouldn't let him on the floor like that anyway;
Torch, she said i thought it was flame thrower, its the flashlight....
I watch every one of your vids well done! Keep up the good work!
Hey Crystal Wolf, I just bought this game for 7.99 on the PS Store. Do you think I made a good decision?
@@panamike6178 sure, prey is worth every cent and dollar! You will not regret buying prey. Trust me.
@@deathitself7554 Cool! Thanks man. I'm in the middle of playing Ghost of Tsushima as soon as I'm done with it, I'm going to start playing it.
@@panamike6178 ok, ivr played ghost if tushinma too thats amazing.
@@deathitself7554 Hell yeah man! It's a bad ass game. Best game I've played since RDR 2.
nice, maybe I should get this game
Martin Crabtree it's great worth the money
Martin Crabtree it's worth if you're looking for a horror atmosphere exploration single player game to get the most out of it
It's great if you want a bit of a survival horror that'll last you for a couple of days. But the game falls flat in the last chapter and has no replayability value, so in that sense it's not really worth the money. I'd recommend picking it up in sale.
I3LINK couple days? Shouldn’t of rushed the game
very good tips!
I kill phantoms by glooing them and then hitting them with the wrench, however I would recomend killing them with wrench sneak attacks
I like GLOO+Blast more, but they're both great.
Here's a tip: Don't hesitate using typhon nueromods. Just don't.
Unless its for a trophy
Good tips
That mimic thing is a waste of time, you’ll actually hear some weird clicking sound when you get close to one that is mimiced into an object
First time I saw Nightmare, I tried to Gloo it then usr my wrench.
I got raped
try fighting a nightmare they make your life a living he'll
The first phantom we see at the window I broke the window and then I just wacked him over and over
upgrading gloo gun is the worst advise ever i never bothered with it, good for fixing flames and climbing but in combat go without it
then dont be a pussy and play on a higher difficulty. The gloo gun is essential for combat
madhouse5213 you dont know what difficulty he was playing on.........and I just completed a nighmare run and the gloo gun was not that essential.......i would actully say the stun gun is better, but it is all about play-style
lol i have played melee and granade only on hardest difficulty this guy is a joke
Not a Mimic Sticky Notes.
All over the ship.
You'll be one of them
Sooner or Later.
Rule number 2. Thou shalt not treat this game like doom
How are there not more comments?
I love this game. Mooncrash even more so.
Hit everything in sight.
Numero Uno?
don't just shoot a phantom with a shotgun.... aim for the head and it quickly kills them!
I swear head shots don't make a difference...
they do....... not going to argue
The game has a very steep learning curve initially, but after that it's actually quite easy, even on Nightmare difficulty.
I don't think she knows what she's doing.
this is just sad what she's saying and doing... oh well..
Especially with the neuromods... sneak attack early on? Ouch.
The most important things you guys should know before you play *Prey* is the developers have a fetish for locked doors and safes, so get ready to waste time finding ways to open them. There are even locked doors inside of locked rooms!
Hmmm Reminds me of something. What was it again? Oh yeah, Resident Evil. The first one.
What are talking about the gloo gun is shit I only used it for fire and climbing I only used the pistol and shotgun, the shotgun one shots at close range with full damage
I be played here's a tip runnnn
Bruh I just magdump phantoms with the pistol it works
Only a few more G2A loot crates
You counted 13 I counted 35
maximize leverage to throw furniture at everything doing damage and saving ammo.. combine with telepathy for a half life gravity gun experience. By not having to craft ammo you will have materials for whatever you need.
If you just get leverage one you can throw those objects at leverage 2 and 3 objects to move them. I.e to get in a hidden area
14 neuromods? if you know where to look you can get 20+ within 1-2 hours
Shotguns don't shoot bullets.
Thats what you have recycle charge spaming for :)
?
My Gloo gun worked on the Nightmare. Of course I didn't hit it with a wrench, but it worked.
These are terrible hints
i just recycle everything haha. memory hole all items; (hopefully) avoid getting violated by mimics
i bet this game has a system shock 2 inpiration.
gloo gun and shotgun???? no no no no... try phsycoshock3 and shotgun. cheapest and fastest time to kill. get stealth and mobility too..icing on the cake.
1:00 top teh
"put the torch on" I was confused, but then I realized she meant flashlight
Crisis__Panda it's just a synonym. They both mean the same thing.
>spending biomods on anything not hacking or engineering related
This is a terrible suggestion video.
Find the neuromod fabrication plan asap. And gather
But you also have to unlock that bitchass licencese
that bitchass license is well worth unlocking because you only have to unlock the license once.
These are all bad tips except for loot all corpses
"You know what else is black"
Oh I know, I know
Dark chocolate
From the footage I have a tip for you. USE THE SHOTGUN AT CLOSE RANGE!
Also you lost sight of the mimics because you played a first person shooter with a controller. Not because they are black.
Mouse and keyboard = Bae.
They really need to bring out another it's an epic game. I went from this to wolfenstein new collosus .... What a disappointment, bored me ridgid.
i played this game now for 10h+ and just found out ther is a flash light...
