To go and beat Geelong who had won 14 in a row was nothing short of incredible. Also considering the amount of injuries we had to key players at that point especially Jobe Watson as one of team.

I highly doubt it. It can't be denied it is the biggest sport but it will almost never be bigger than NFL in America and AFL in Australia. Those 2 take the spots for the number 1 and number 4 most attended domestic sports leagues in the world. In Australia alone the A - league has a 3rd the average attendance of the AFL, while in the USA, the NASL as a THIRTEENTH the attendance of the NFL. The AFL Grand Final is also the most attended event championship even in the world. Its going to take a lot more than 82 years for soccer is surpass either of these sports in their respective country.

Zaharakis lived every Essendon boy and girls’ dream.. twice!! against Collingwood and Carlton.. If he’d done it against Hawthorn he would have completed the set in my mind 😊 He featured in others too but Collingwood and Carlton are probably the top two we all dream about in the yard, at the local oval or back when we could have a kick on the ground after the game each week 😊
