Very interesting. Glad I saw this video. I have the exact setup the question was asked about but just no ridge vent. Only gable vents and no soffits. Getting a new roof soon and I'm trying to figure out if I should use some of the products out there that allow intake air through a layer of shingles down low when you have a no soffit home. Owens corning makes something called a ventsure. Guess I'll just have my roofer add a ridge vent and keep the gable vents open and live with it. I mean my roof i like 35-40 years old anyway so its lasted just fine the way it is and adding a ridge vent will help right?
Hey guys. I have a barn shaped house. No attic. The roof has 6" rafters. There is no ridge vent. Currently on hot days the moisture has come through the drywall tape. I cut some of the ceiling drywall off and it was moist with some mold. Will a ridge vent be enough? If not, what else can be done? No soffets either.
Same boat here. Wanted to share.. I’m thinking about using those circle louver vents in the facia between each rafter bay and use insulation batts. I’m not positive though still researching
