New Ending in Final Fantasy VII Remake INTERmission DLC (PS5)
FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE is coming to PlayStation 5 on June 10th 2021, a visually enhanced edition of the critically acclaimed and award winning game, featuring a brand new episode featuring Yuffie as the main character, and numerous gameplay additions for players to enjoy.

The world has fallen under the control of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation controlling the planet's very life force as mako energy. When Cloud says "especially you", Barret would usually get mad at him. But they've grown so close together that Barret just shurgs it off. I love the development and chemistry in this group. Feels like a family.
Right? Barret especially got so much development in Remake. I can't wait to play with the main group again.
Remake had a couple of trip ups, sure. But the character development more than makes up for any of it. I love the characters now more than ever.
Not even necessarily a dig. Barret died in the base game and was brought back. Dying may be tired work.

That actually was a nod to how they initially thought of having Barret die alongside Jessie, Biggs and Wedge but changed that idea and decided to go with Aerith being the one to be killed off instead.
And that is why the Arbiters of Fate intervened.
Yeah, Barret warms up to Cloud faster here than in the original.
More so when he learns that Cloud is not the Emo that everyone thinks he is.
It is all a facade from Cloud to hide his insecurities and his false memories made him think he is Zack.
I love the bond, but I preferred when it developed over time as they overcame the odds. They rushed a lot in this game.
Omg them just walking Casually while talking like a group of friends then them playing the Original FF7 music just makes my heart melt😩😩😩 and Barret singing the Chocobo theme just made me smile

That's true. Isn't he the guy that was also from Final Fantasy XV Kingsglaive? I could have sworn he did a voice in it too that wasn't the main cast. Go figure, he's an amazing VA, yet his parts are always so freaking small in theory

How Prompto is an enemy developed clone, has identity issues, wears Cloud's haircut. Gladio looks straight like Angeal with bigger haircut, got some Zack vibes too, especially after he got that twin scar to his existing one. Biggs and Wedge reference, Aranea's name is literally Highwind. Gladio's sister is called Iris, which is exactly how a lot pronounced it back in the day for Aerith. Cid, well, kinda the tradition. You get Masamune in dlc pack from the beginning. Once Ravus displays a couple of Sephiroth's sword moves while fighting onehanded. MIdgarsormr. The 6 gods also. A quest in Castlemark Tower, some scritings call Solheim civilization "ancients". A damn lot of pointing hintmarks.
Seeing Cloud & the gang travel in remake form is such a wholesome thing

The thing that's striking about this scene - that is NOT the Sector 7 Church of Remake. Look up screenshots of it - that six-pointed emblem on the back wall is different colors than in Remake, but it matches the colors seen in the original timeline games including FF7 and Crisis Core, and the floor is in better condition than in Remake, too.
What the hell this means, don't know, but it seems Zack is definitely in an alternate timeline and not the Remake timeline.

FF7re soundtrack is a MASTERPIECE. Even if they're just humming it, it sounds spectacular!
Uematsu is that good (I know, he didn't work on this soundtrack, but he kinda did all the work at the same time, about 20 years ago).

The motif of the game is in the title. Final Fantasy 7 is about METEOR. That is it.

@@nesoukkefka1741 It is LITERALLY in the fucking title. The meteor is the main "thing" of FF7. If you notice, Final Fantasy 'motifs' are in their title screen and ff7 is about meteor. FF8 is about love. FF9 is about the crystal. Final Fantasy 10 is about summoners and their summons, etc.
Sephiroth and more importantly, Meteor, are the plot. And my original point still stands: Final Fantasy 7 OG does not have a hint of timelines or this time travel GARBAGE in it.
So many cutscenes of the party travelling to Kalm together! And Zack too. It's all so satisfying. Can't wait for part 2!!

@@sakuracardcaptor4709 I don't think so. If square wanted to show that Aerith is sensing Zack, they would never present this scene in a way as "she is talking about it to Cloud". Another thing is, she uses the word "wierd", which means she has no idea what she felt. This scene is clearly about her fate.

Love how they managed to step up the party interaction after FF XV. Tifa and Aerith being friendly to each other, Cloud smiles as Barret lead. After band of bros, I didn't expect they able to deliver natural conversation on such party.
Made me wish more past FF get remake after this with good party interaction like this.
Nice to hear Zack new VA get used with his role.
I just really hope the new VA doesn't stuff up the preformance with the next game. He's got a big role to take on, but he's got a lot of potential. For me, it's kinda like with Sephiroth and how I was so used to the Crisis Core VA's that even now they still sound a bit weird, but I'm sure everyone, including myself, will get used to them and enjoy them a lot.

It looks like we're seeing 2 timelines. Remake timeline is just altered events of the original FF7, while Zack is in a post-advent children timeline.

@@leoaltivez7161 I don't think so. In the original game, Zack died during his final stand against the SOLDIERS, *days* before Cloud inherited the Buster Sword and got hired by AVALANCHE to do the bombing mission.
I believe in Zack's timeline, Aerith might be missing in action, held by Shinra, or is possibly dead. No one is taking care of her flowers as they're all wilted.

The barren landscape really puts into perspective what Barret was hinting at on the train after the first bombing. The Mako reactors are leaching the surrounding area dry. It looks so empty and unusual for Midgar to be sitting in the middle of such a place. Also gives a bit more context to the old scenes of Red and his kids overlooking the ruined Midgar and how it's still dry but slowly growing back. But to see such a vast area so drained...and to think Shinra wants to build a network of Neo Midgar cities? Yeesh.

Loved every moment of this cutscene! It looks so realistic, Barrett sining the chocbo theme, the nostalgic music of the og ff7 seeing the gang back together after a year, just made me so happy 🥺🥺 I loved this dlc, the soundtrack is incredible I’m so excited and seeing Zack at the end ahhhh!!!! Maybe not, while the sephiroth time travel theory is plausible it is in no way confirmed, everything that happens in remake is explained in the original. Also if the whispers were about to stop events happening differently why are there non in the yuffie episode? Those events could not have happened the the oh “timeline” otherwise yuffie would have mentioned stuff about deep ground and Nero in derge. The scene with Zack at the end, while it is possible that it is in the “present” of ff7r we have no indication of that, it could be back in the time of crisis core, we just don’t know yet

@@shro_okee The white background/light looks exactly like that one scene in Advent Children when Cloud sees Zack and Aerith standing in front of the door after he is brought back to life. Zack and Aerith then walk into the white space/return to the lifestream together. Maybe this scene in the ending symbolizes that Zack has come back from death.

That casual conversation scene is so beautiful
Theory time: Zack only fazed back into the timeline after the group destroyed the Whispers at the end of the full game. The changing of fate and stopping Zack's death didn't mean he came back to life at the beginning of the full games events. Zack is carrying Cloud back to Midgar, somehow they are separated as Cloud was supposed to end up at the train station in the slums to be found by Tifa and Zack continues on alone, and because of the screwy time line thing, Zack doesn't make it into Midgar until AFTER the plate fell and the Scooby Gang have already made their escape from Midgar.
Zack has his own buster sword, doesn't question where Cloud went, and he goes right to the church and doesn't seem to notice all the crazy stuff that has happened to Midgar in the first game. Probably way off base with my assumptions but cut me some slack! This changing fate thing is convoluted as all hell!
I hope it's kind of like this. Zack is a cool character yes, we love it, but coming in the time of Cloud and the other would be... nah. Nope. Pls no.

Anyone else think there is more meaning behind aerith comments on a measure of time, than people are noticing. Under normal circumstances it wouldncome across as random banter to display a bit of flavor to a characters personality and their connection to another character….but this is the last few minutes of the game. I think there is some deeper meaning thats subtley tryin to be told to us. Perhaps the full day thing could he a metaphor for a lifetime maybe?

Seeing Zack in good health and worrying over something as silly as how to say hi to Aerith was the most wholesome part for me - I know his death was the ending we needed in the original story- but it's so nice to see him get some of the ending he deserved... even if he just gotta turn around and walk his ass right out of Midgar again to catch up with her. haha
I find it impressive how all 5 of them got so close in the span of just a few days. Barret wanted to beat Cloud up at the beginning, and now they’re very good friends. Tifa and Aerith’s friendship is also very evident when they’re hitchhiking. The only one i felt missing was red, he never uttered a single word xd. I wonder how their relationships with each other will evolve as time goes on and certain “events” occur.
Edit: also, the scene with Zack absolutely blew my mind through the roof. I thought they’d use him just one time on the end of the remake, but seeing him again in the dlc makes me believe that SE has more in store for him 🔥🔥🔥
Going to war with someone will have that effect. It’d be weird if they went through all of that and weren’t really close by the time they left midgar

I’m alright with Sephi’s VA. He sounds pretty damn intimidating, which is definitely something that you need for Sephiroth’s current role in the game’s plot. As much as I like Newbern, I’ve gotten too use to his Sephiroth that I don’t really feel as threatened by it anymore.
It's all preference, I think that Newbern was perfect for English Sephiroth and I think Hoechlin is capable of making Sephiroth sound better. Personally I think he sounds very flat and Sephiroth has bass in his voice. Morikawa will always be Sephiroth anyways. 😆

Hmmm, I do have a funny feeling that part 2 might be bad story wise. The whole point of zack's character was to throw you off what you knew and make you think about the possibility of clouds past and true memories. If you try and turn him into a main character and change the story in any drastic way it undermines Zack as a part of the story ( as he completely loses his function in the story) and undermines the greatness of the story in general. I hope I am proved wrong and they change very little!
Also if they mess around with the story too much, I think I might just put the game down for a year and never buy then next instalment. Surely it's enough to expand detail of each district and improve the graphics, and maybe flesh out the end, rather than make major changes.

I always thought "Ahead on Our Way" was a musical powerhouse. Every arrangement in the remake proved it ! God it feels amazing...

I wish Yuffie met up with them for the ending so I didn’t have to worry about if she’ll be playable again for Part 2 or not. She’s one of my favorites ever and I seriously enjoyed her DLC story and gameplay

Such a roller coaster for me.
I hated Dirge of Cerberus, so the ending kinda brought me down a bit, but then these scenes played and immediately brought me back up.
God, I love their improved characterization so damn much.

Honestly my theory would be the Shinra would pick her up so that she can meet him . Shinra was trying to catch Zach on his way back and they also know that Arieth sent him letters no? And thee is really no Cannon couple. A lot of possible couples got deranged by death

Aerith was written with Cloud in mind, Aerith wrote those letters before she met Cloud, and there's the park scene and the gondola scene where she acknowledges Zack was her first love and that she might've seen Zack in Cloud at first, but that she has come to realize Cloud is different and she wants to establish a romantic relationship with Cloud, which matches with Aerith's resolution scene where she's says she's glad that Cloud is coming for her romantically. This all shows that Cloud is NOT a replacement for Zack because she thinks Zack is dead, but the one that she has come to love more than Zack and so won't dump Cloud because Zack is alive. Of course, she will have to tell that to Zack. It amazes me how many people continue to ignore Aerith's feelings and all the scenes and "Hollow" where she reveals she has come to love Cloud more than Zack. A litle word of advice you guys, denial doesn't get you very far.

Something about the foot on the flowers leads me to imply that Aerith is dead in Zack's timeline. But, it all depends on how much was changed in the alternate timeline and when this is. I do remember Aerith's text messages in Crisis Core saying Zack had been gone a very long time. Hmm...
