You are such a breath of fresh air and a big comfort to me! My son has a speech delay and I fully believe that there is no rushing him. They are only babies for so long. He will get to wherever he is supposed to be when he is ready. I will lovingly and completely support him every step of the way. Thank you for your updates and creating this environment!
Erica Kauffman I'm trying to keep this in mind myself sometime you worry and make it worse than it actually is in your mind. I have 4 children the youngest is 21 months and has a handful of words he uses only when he wants lol. My oldest was talking by 18 mo in sentences like I want my mommy etc. The dr does want to see him this month and not wait till 24 so if there is an issue he doesn't get too far behind. Boys are often much later talkers than girls and each child is different and picks up different things at different times. The 2nd youngest was the same way till almost 2 and like over night started saying EVERYTHING
So fun to see the progression! We've been celebrating a bit of language explosion with our youngest, who is speech delayed at 2 1/2 after about 6 months of speech therapy. 😊
I'm new to your channel and only a couple videos in and I just want to say thank you for your delivery on every topic. Also, thank you to everyone in the comments
This makes me feel a lot better since my 21 mo only barely says any words I'm a psycho watching and waiting for other signs. I keep telling my self I've just made myself be paranoid I have 3 much older children and the youngest of those talked later but not this late or this little
My little guy is 28 mths and awaiting ASD Eval, he just recently had a Developmental Assessment done and it was found that his Receptive is more delayed than his Expressive! So he can Say/Gesture more, than he actually understands. It's so interesting to see how all kids develop so differently, Neurotypical or Neurodiverse!
@@aliciab4098 He did yes!! He was diagnosed at 2 yrs 10 mths - he's now 4 and doing great :) He uses an AAC device in addition to body language and speech to communicate now. Thank you for checking in and asking for an update! :)
if you were to guess and use mama's true intuition, what do you think caused the autism--i know this is a hard question but do you have an opinion? i have several cases of autism in 2nd 3rd and 4th generation in family!!!! latest is 2.4 years old and not speaking much at all, regression, etc. Motor development always ahead and super good---language and communication very slow. THANK YOU. and what do you suggest in the simplest of terms for a approach to this?
My son is diagnosed with speech delay too, and he understands little about the language, cognitive ability is also a concern for him, he can’t speak, nonverbal
I have to follow this, my 19 month old is going for a pediatrician development specialist to see about getting a diagnosis, so far my son has been using everything to communicate , gestures, sign etc, speech is a few words but coming along, is this just a delay or autistic?
