Being both based on ALS {Advanced Locomotion System} it's easy to see the similarities... the core is the same, probably just reinvented to fix some of the issues ALS has, the fact they both use ALS unique and recognizable mannequin makes them look like the same thing. This work seems even better, in terms of climbing, than IWALS because of the physics reactions, and the animated climbable parts and, if I'm not wrong, the fingers' alignment which is the feature I like most. Unfortunately, being based on ALS, is something I don't like using on my projects. The risk with these ALS based systems, because of their increased popularity, is to end up having too many games all looking so similar, unless very different animations are used and deep customizations make them stand particularly out compared to others. This one in particular has already very unique details I appreciate tho' so kudos to the author, because ALS is so structured I find it a real nightmare to work with so I highly appreciate the efforts and the work done in this one and I should also add it's gonna be interesting to see which innovations will be made in this project, because complete traversal systems are the hardest asset to find, I've bought the amazing Traversal Animations pack from one of the most talented and unique animators {RamsterZ} two years ago and still haven't found any asset where I can use them all.

this looks crazy, im new to programming and all that stuff, so i heard if i was knew it would be better to start a project from blank, so just questioning if its actually smart to buy this and build my game on the ALS or should i build my project from blank and learn everything step by step and after that trying to implement the ALS and all that stuff into it?

Hi! Nothing was stolen. I started to make this system more then 3 years ago and I made it from zero without any help. All the animations are hand animated by me. I have a lot of files about the development of the system/animations from last few years. I just checked the Universal Traversal Anim Pack video and the climbing animations don't even look like mine. I don't know where did you get this assumption.

IWALS probably stole it from somewhere else. Theres a reason why most of these people only sell it on patreon and not on the epic store.
