Speaking Darija at the Local Market in Morocco
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 сен 2024
- Hey guy come with me while I go to the local market in Ouled Mtaa to buy vegetables to make a chicken tagine later for dinner. While shopping I use Darija to get what I want. How did I do? Enjoy! (I felt weird filming the people there while i was shopping, so I cut the camera out while I spoke to them)

I butchered the intro hahaha. I said "my fish" instead of "my siblings" 🤣🤣I'll get it right next time 😊
matecha and basla , it's not even 0.5kg , it's obvious they fooled you, 1kg it's at least 6 or 7 peaces, those sellers all what they care is to sell , don't care about you. if you keep silence ,you're the victim.
ahaha yeah i heard that LOL
لم يبقى لكي الا القليل لتصبحي مغربية 😂😂😂😂مرحبا بكي ...👏👍🇲🇦🇺🇸
I'm moving to Morocco too. I like watching your video. I'm learning from you
مرحبا بكم في اي وقت
Welcome 🤗
Best of luck!
Same here 😂
Welcome
I’m not familiar with Darija but I’m fluent in Arabic and understood everything you said, excellent job!
Darija is just a dialect of Arabic, most of the time Arabs don't understand us because we speak fast and have a stronger accent but that's it
Bravo 😊 you became professional...but the most amazing thing about you when you feed dogs and cats
your darija is getting good
keep it up
I've been binge-watching your videos for the past month or so and you guys are amazing! Always good vibes and such a beautiful family. God bless you all!
Aww thank you for the support
Morocco is a very serious relocation for me, ASAP and I'm learning so much more than I hear on other tube Channels - great jod
I love your videos so much and my Japanese wife too.
By the way! Preserved lemons are just lemons preserved in salt. We cut a lemon from the top into four pieces and we put salt inside and we keep it for a week or two in a jar and that’s it.
We ad hot water too
Your Darija has improved since your first videos. Keep improving, you are doing well. 🎉
Thank you so much 😃
Salam .vidéo is very Meziane.chokran😊
Salam! Thanks for watching 😊😊
Preserved is= pickelled !
In the Uk we have pickelled onions.
In Morocco pickelled lemons = HAMED MSSAYARE !❤
Chokrun
The prices are amazing for the produce! The size of the watermelon is incredible. You can make your own preserved lemons by brining them with juice and salt. I use them a lot and hate to waste so often keep a jar ready for chicken tagine, LOl.
القلوب النقية ترى جمال المغرب و حضارة أهله في حين تركز النفوس المريضة على سلبياته. كل الدعم لك

Your daughter speech is another level and she will become 100 % moroccan
Thank you jacks darija is the best though his accent sounds authentic
You should take notice how to use this lemon , you should put just a few slices of it , don't put the hole one ,it's too salty and it'll spoil ur dish . Bon appétit❤
I had a lot of chicken it turned out perfect. Video will be out on Wednesday 😊
no, erin jaj means glass;pronounce it "the" as u pronounce "the"+"jaj" -> the-jaj.

Erin I was always told not to give chicken bones to dogs because they splitter in their intestines 😢
You are so kind and thoughtful ❤️I love your videos because you are not fake and are so real. You amaze me how brave you are to have moved there by yourself with your children and it is amazing how you all have adjusted so well. Peace and love Erin ♥️🌷
Raw chicken bones don’t splinter cooked do but these dogs eat anything
Good job, Erin!!
Thank you!! 😊
You did it very well Lady 😊. Enjoy the day. When you use Lemon and olives pay attention to salt ! Don't put to much cause lemon are salty. Stay safe
We are happy with you, Erin, you are learning Arabic. it's great
❤❤❤💐👍
Thank you! 😃
I enjoy watching these typical scenes of daily lives. That market! I love fresh produce and good prices. It kills me every time I have to pay over $1 for cilantro or parsley. Is that souk open just one day each week? You are really learning some hard words, I am so impressed. I can see how it would be hard to keep all of those words memorized. 🌍
Thank you so much. This souk is open daily 😊
Good job Erin, good luck with your journey.
The lemon is preserved with salt they cut a little the lemon and put salt and let it sometime in a bottle
Fermented yogurt is called rayeb, the green ones are mixed with mint syrup, and red are mixed with pomegranate syrup
Thanks for your efforts, keep going 👍
Thank you, I will!

Aji le Rabat, Ahsan min Tmara 😊
=Come to Rabat . It's better than Temara. (Temara is a mess !! 😂)
Bravooo Momsof4!
Wish you all the best
مشاء الله عليك اختي إيرين رائعة
you will be surprised but life in morocco is getting more and more expensive you might see 20 dh is nothing for 2 kilo of fruit a lot of peaple see it as too expensive ...
There isn't much of diffrent in price between prices in the US and Morocco. Some stuff is cheaper in the US like Banana and watermelon Nad tropical fruits than Morocco. Veggies are slightly cheaper in Morocco. Yet, overall people of Morocco are suffering with these prices
تحياتي ليك الله يسر أمرك يارب
دلاحة مزيانة ، بالصحة و الراحة 🎉
Hello Erin you doing great little by little u will learn
As a Moroccan your Darija is kinda impressive
Chokran
Keep for your kids. We love them.
What does that even mean
I've been to the US before and trust me the taste of Fruits has nothing to do with the actual fruit i am used to as a Moroccan lol ! Fruits in Morocco are way more tasty and fresh than the US . Your darija is getting better , keep goin' start conversations with locals more , maybe start a challenge of few words daily .
you re brave women thanks a gad
So nice of you 🙂
شكرا ليك أختي إيرين
هل سبق لك ان ذهبتي الى الأسواق الاسبوعية الموجودة خارج المدن 😘😘
بالصحة والراحة
You have to show the final results 😂😂😂
You are awesome
You are doing perfect 😻

In Spain, very expensive vegetables and fruits.

Mzyan ur darija is improving
Can you get by im Morocco just with Darija, I noticed it sounds much easier to understand than Classic Arabic - it almost sounds like a European language - great job on learning the numbers, thats where i usually start, then food names......
Yes or French
@momof4vlogs Great, I'm a French speaker, 9 years at school, but need to brush up - Darija sounds cool
Started brushing up on French using Duolingo - studied at school from 7 to 16, surprised what I remember but I still need to relearn, by heart, the irregular verbs and the regular verbs - inch Allah I will be conversational when I move to Morocco
Omelette on Msamen, you killing me 😂😂😂 no don't do that🙅♀️
It tasts good
We love it 😊
@momof4vlogs glad that you like it! But you'll get weird looks 🤣

Nectarine 🍑 in Moroccan darija is chahdiya I am not quite sure about standard Arabic فاكهة النكتارين
