Great to see you're still around. Tiamat is one of my all-time-favourites. There's no second band with that kind of theme, atmosphere and emotional expression. Always honest, direct and poetic. There's a certain mood I am in quite frequently were I can only listen to Tiamat. Nothing else fits. Thanks!

To me is the best but the mastermind of Tiamat prefers to say “the second band of the world”. 🤘 In a 2009 interview about the 7 deadly sins he said this about envy: “Personally I don´t envy anybody, but in my job for example I think there is a lot of envy, between bands and so on, and we try to stay out of that. Maybe it´s like a competition and I don´t feel it´s important to be the best, so I don’t envy people who are better, I accept it, it´s totally cool to be number two. As long as you´re number two, not number three. And if there are people who are envious of me, I think they have a good reason for that.”
They did not sing Teonanacatl because it was not included in their setlist for that performance. I personally love the song but Anders Iwers once mentioned that never quite worked out live for some reason. They only played it a few times.
I really get pissed off at how he butchers the lyrics on A Caress of Stars. They’re obviously using backing tracks so why not go all the way and use a prompter?
